Approaching 54-years old, I remember being fresh into my early-20s when this song/album dropped; and I’m both glad and blessed to have witnessed a crowd’s reaction while it was being played in clubs and at parties. New Jack Swing forever!
This video expressed the vibrancy of the 90s and my fave fellas, Guy and Heavy D, rest in power Dear Dwight. Your music touches our souls forever. Thank you. 💙💙💙💙💜🙏🏽🎼🎵🎵🎵
I think that Heavy D, was one of the Greatest Rap Artists, as I grew up with him, May He Rest in Peace!! Thanks for the upload, I haven't heard this one in AWHILE!!
GUY should be honoured for their contribution to HIP HOP...without these guys my teen years would have been a disaster.. Teddy Riley, Aaron Hall...and the 3rd guy
this movement in music will NEVER be matched ever again. From black to white and everyone in between it was a great dance party with so much diversity and talent. The beats, the fashion, the dance, the everything..AND look what we have today in all music. In all genres. Garbage..
Posting again 1/19/2022: This is one of the most early-'90s videos I've ever seen. Definitely gives you fun old-school vibes. Puts me in mind of C+C Music Factory's "Everybody Dance Now. Something I want to point out though is that I'm surprised no one ever suffered an epileptic seizure from all of those fast flashing lights.
The flagship song of the NEW JACK SWING era! I’m almost 43 yrs old! This is one of my all time favorite songs! Thanks Teddy & company! Late 80s - early 90s were the best times ever! Music, movies, tv shows, clothes fashions!! Class of ‘94 💪🏽🔥💯
I was sitting in my office and I thought about the days of New jack swing And if there was one tune which typified the music, the dance and the way music is produce in 2015, this song is a true trend setter Wow I can remember when I bought this in Rayners lane Harrow London 1990, and killed all the remixes with my little 1 year old daughter jamming with daddy 25 years later we still jam this one together Long live New Jack Swing
The New Jack era was one of the dopest times to be 20 something! Teddy Riley and Guy used to kill audiences when they came to town...Boy was bad...And just as fast as it came in, it went out with the rise of Hip-Hop....Still, New Jack was the business, for real!
This is one of the best NJS tracks ever. Teddy's great beats, Aaron's awesome vocals, and 2 perfectly positioned raps by Heav. Man, RnB has slipped so far from these type of jams, that seem to have been just yesterday. Where did the time go? Why doesn't RnB make you dance and sing like it used to?
Everybody knows why, because in this day and age, rappers, wanna sing on their albums, like R&B, singers, and R&B singers, want to have the same swagger as rappers (both genres are dying a slow death)
@@ELRADONE believe whatever the hell you want, but the eye test always prevails. You can even check out a interview with Ne-Yo as he says the same thing.
Do me Right!..I danced, Parties , People, and Knew another world 🌎! Thanks Teddy, H.D.(RIP), Aaron and Damon! 90's not Perfect but .. Good for Black Life!
80s & 90s Babies music will always have you reminising when life was so fun without any worries in the world that's if you were a kid in the 80's and the 90's!!!🎶🎶🎶🤗🤗🤗
GUY was sorely overlooked in the 90s revival festival. Great and meaningful R&B songs, powerful vocals from the brothers (especially AARON "Nastyman" HALL), a golden era of radio with TEDDY RILEY providing the easel for many tapestries.
'SO MANY PLANS WE'VE GOT 2 HAVE .. JUST 4GET ABOUT DA PAST .. WE CAN GET 2 MAKING LOVE .. AND ROMANCE .. GIRL .. YOU'RE SUMTHIN ELSE .. I WANNA GET WITH U .. BELIEVE ME GIRL .. How does this music make you feel so good? Something about the bright melody or the tame, clean way they talk about things. I'm so very curious how so many 80's/90's songs hold up so well. 🤔
Teddy Riley stated in his red bull interview he puts frequencies in his music and that he is "sorry" to all his fans for this!🤣 I couldn't believe it because I had this suspicion already. If you're unsure what I'm taking about, look up 432hz/schumann frequencies, how music frequency was changed, how different frequencies affect us! I'm unsure about earlier music though
My Favourite Guy tune and probably favourite tune ever (along side the full 7 minute version of Poison by Bell Biv Devoe) Teddy's production and sound is untouchable, then you add Aarons vocals and a rap by Heavy bum diddley D! Come on man instant classic (Then that fool Teddy went and remixed it and that was also a classic the man is a master.....)
GUY was definitely ahead of the pack . There were so many comparisons between Aaron Hall and Charlie Wilson but i really don't hear it like everyone was saying existed . There were similarities in notes but i think Aaron was more Stevie Wonder sounding in his approach and delivery.
Come on Guy ... put an album out!! Ah, well a CD rather. I'll be the first person in line to buy it! When you got a Guy album there WEREN'T any bad songs on it. You could rock that cassette from front to back and do it again and not have to stop it once!!!!
