I was playing a relatively new player with turbo fog. They asked if they had lost after the first stream of thought. I said. "You can concede at any time"
@@benlittle5543a very good answer. When I was new playing friday night magic I had a mono white heroic deck that stomped most people, then I faced an azorious control deck and I was absolutely confused lol.
Deck seems pretty resilient and others seem to be doing well with it. Unsure how well it translates into paper as atleast mtgo has the chess clock. I suspect this deck will lead to a lot of draws.
Campfire over talisman is dope, I was building a pest list recently with talisman for ramp but the heaped harvest seems cleaner imo Also I love the amount of food here without cats, though I do like the cauldron familiar pestilence synergy crypt rats is just one card so it’s probably 10x more efficient
Another thing I love about this list is that crypt rats is the top end! Five or six years ago crypt rats was my lethal of choice playing tortured existence and random orzhov piles
I 3/0ed tonight with a similar list at my LGS in paper over Terror, Kiln Fiend, and BR Madness. Super fun long grindy games. Won by decking, plant/Basilisk beats, and Rat burn. Heap Gate is strong. Bajuka Big and Toxin Analysis are cards to consider in the main deck imho.
@shawnwilliamscreative Nice run! I find Toxin Analysis to never work (opponent always has removal in response) so I just put in other cards. The Gates and Khalni garden package has too many taplands already which is the reason I didn't add Bog. Both cards are fine, but these are the reasons that I haven't been playing them.
I was finding the bounce lands a liability against opponents Boomerangs and Cleansing Wildfires and not having enough basics to totally optimize Heaped Harvest - hence the card choices I offered.
I generally don't repeat videos for at least a couple of weeks. I'll get back to food, but there are other decks out there that also deserve showing off.
Yeah, there are a lot of decks this Auto concedes too (mostly combo and control). Poison storm has almost disappeared this meta so I didn't have to worry too much about it.
An extra land would be nice. Probably cut a Weather the Storm or a Tangle. Tangles are good but once they are known then people play around them and they generally aren't any better than a normal fog. I think we gain enough life from Campfire and Lembas that we don’t need the Weather's main.
Very cool deck, think I prefer regular turbo fog but this is sweet. Speaking of not needing creatures to win, can we see another vid on teachings? Really interested to see how it's changed for the new meta.
Control decks are hard in a meta like this because there are so many things going on that it is hard to build the right deck. I can try to focus on Terror and Red but then I'll just lose to Broodscale and Affinity. I'll find a build I like eventually.
I was wondering if we can add Writhing Crysalis (not necessarily 4x in the main). Maybe in place of Heaped Harvest. Props -it provides blockers and fodders for the disputes -it is I think the single best card against affinity. A single Crysalis stalls all their board. So it can Be played as like a 2-2 split between main and side. And they (especially if they don't see it g1) are incentivized to side out removal in the matchup, so my guess is that it performs perfectly Slops -Ok, it gives a purpose to opponent removals -it is a splash, but all the gates and disputes make it quite easily doable -costs 4 (so more than heaped Harvest if that is the swap). I am gonna try it, what is ur opinion? Would you swap something else for it?
The deck is favourable enough against affinity that it doesn't need it. 1 or 2 Weathers main to overcome Munitions is the only real adjustment needed to make the G1 Affinity match extremely favourable.
I see then. Thanks for the answer. Maybe you know the answer so I just ask: what is the purpose of Murmuring Mystic in the newer version of the deck by RitualSinkhole?
A single makeshift munitions might be good in situations like this 1:10:28 Im also thinking that 4 campfires might be appropriate since they gain a good amount of life early and really help prevent the deck out
@@Kirblinxy campfire absolutely looks like an mvp every time I see it see play. I wanted to ignore it entirely because it mentions commander but it seems to be a relevant card lol
When your deck is fast, it’s best to take time to consider all possible actions. Your opponent is displaying discipline and patience since it’s very easy to turn your brain off and move forward. If you watch some people who don’t normally play burn you will probably see them make obvious mistakes due to the obvious nature of the list.
@@michelefioratti3591I understand but you need do draw those cards very early or you are fucked. Stendard Bearer is a very "definitive" wincon, while the snuffs can be countered by Snakeskin veil and other tricks that the Gleezzard golgari version runs. I also faced a deck which ran a card that for 2 or 3 mana let him put back to hand the two combo pieces... A nightmare
I'm really trying to understand the matchup because where I play there are TONS of Gleezzard decks that really walk around removals or simply combo off almost always at turn 3
I love Deadly Dispute, but if banning that is what it takes to keep this from being a Tier 1 deck, I would be a-OK with that. Turbo fog is like junk food - good in moderation, but horrible in large enough quantities.
It is pretty easy to hate out on as well, it only pops up when the meta lines up in the right way. I wouldn't expect to see it much though, it is a very acquired taste.
Not used to Lembas loops and needing to yield. Did a practice match after you mentioned this and it was much smoother. Will remember for next time, thanks 👍
Nice 5-0. This is what I mean when I say Jeskai players need to realize they’re a control deck. Why would you ever counter tangle when you have archaeomancer loops? Your deck can never beat that once the campfires are dealt with. That matchup seems unloseable for a Jeskai player if they don’t play like a midrange deck.
In pauper jeskai players often focus on things like the kenku instead of controlling the board, I was really hopeful that the recent energy package could make jeskai into a more efficient control deck but it doesn’t seem to have taken root.
@@devangoad people just play poorly. I don’t know why they all want to play it like a tempo or aggro deck. Slam this Mystic and ride it to victory! It’s a blue based control deck. Stop.
@@KM613 the player pool and popper is much smaller, so the number of high caliber players is also reduced and blue base control is classically hard to play as you need to know the whole format and meta
Ah, its one of those decks that only works on MTGO and only if you can click faster than your opponent. If you bring this to a LGS for a paper tournament, you will score all draws because of insufficient time. I have personally never seen a deck with less win conditions than this abomination. That round 1 game 3 is perfect example. You have literally zero answers to Relic of Progenitus. Given more time you would be forced to use Crypt Rats to clear board when you run out of fogs and then youre sitting duck.
oh my brother this deck makes opp's commit hari-kari. What a grind. I had to skip to the end of each match i couldn't bear it.
@@davidesugar The real win condition of the deck is making the opponent not want to keep playing with you 😔

What a cool deck !
This is truly peak magic, a game of nerves.
Also the video is longer, so I am definitely happy ! 😅
The nerves of if I can get the fog or not, and not lose to time. Truly an exhilarating experience.
That runtime, what a treat.
Please keep bringing more turbo fog stuff 🎉
It was so enjoyable
Especially against kuldotha red❤
You must also be a White Weenie fan then (for the love of beating up red)

thanks for the review! i’m really hyped to try this out and see it in action while waiting for my cards to come is amazing

@shawnwilliamscreative Yeah fair. This is why we playtest, to find what works and what doesn't in the right field.
It's absurd that this deck was at some point 12 minutes ahead on clock compared to the mono red player. we truly do live in a society
I trimmed a lot of the dead air in that one too, imagine if I had kept it in.

is it too heavy in the disputes? what a couple Rowan's Grim Searches?
Not a big fan of the life loss on that one. The dispute effects are fine, that M1G1 was definitely an outlier when trying to find fodder for them.
Why do all Mono Red players take a good 15-30 seconds between each action?
