The one positive thing emerging from this series is that Robert Williams is on the brink of stardom. He has great hands and a soft shooting touch, and is an exceptional passer. He’s also a good shot blocker although Red Auerbach would counsel him to tip the blocks, rather than swat them out of bounds, to give his teammates a chance to retrieve them. What he needs to do is bulk up and develop a hook shot and a turnaround jumper. If he does those things, he’ll be an offensive force, and it’ll prevent teams from ganging up on Tatum and Brown at the perimeter. Tatum and Brown were guarded by two or three GS players every time they touched the ball and that seriously affected their game. As for the rest of the Celtics players, a good team like GS exposes their deficiencies. G Williams, Pritchard and Al Horford weren’t fast or big enough against Green, Thompson and Poole. I wish Theis had gotten minutes but he’s the Rodney Dangerfield of NBA centers. Refs would’ve made sure that he didn’t make an impact. We got manhandled under the boards and our shooting was inconsistent. The Celtics need a sharpshooter, like a Luka Doncic, and a Looney-like power forward if they’re going to win a title.

As a diehard Warriors fan, much respect and thank you to the Celtics and their fans and congratulations too on a great series. The Celtics are a young growing team and will be around for years. People need to lay off Tatum man. It was his first finals and I don’t think he was ever at 100% health since the Miami series and this was combined with Williams being nowhere near 100% either. It was not luck that the Celtics made this far. They are gritty and physical. Less turnovers and better shot selection typically come with more experience over time. Basketball IQ increases over time. Much respect to the Celtics, ya’ll will be even better next year.

Warriors got a great job on Tatum honestly. It feels like they played him mentally because if you watched game 5 and seeing him air balling threes, and seeing him in game 6 not scoring, it feels like he was ben simmon forgetting how to take shots...He will learn from this and they will be back in Finals for sure..I am a Lakers fan and although I am happy that they did not win, but seeing Tatum since his rookie season because as a Lakers fan I think it is mandatory for us to watch the Celtics as well, he really showed his growth from being a hype to being a silent franchise carrier. They played very well in the playoffs, brought the organization back to the finals for the first time in 12 years and made it to game 6 against this Warrior roster. The Celtics, who would have guessed? That’s a remarkable achievement. I’m looking forward to their next season.
This is a well deserved championship for the dubs. All those years of ups and downs really helped shaping them into this insanely tenacious team with top-notch player development that we now see. It’s been an incredible experience watching both of these teams this season.

I really like Tatum both as a person and a player. He is long, underrated in terms of athleticism, can defend pretty well (look at what he did to Durant in the first round), and is a very willing passer (especially compared to the guy who trained him before, the late great Kobe). Not saying Jayson Tatum is the type of passers like Lebron or Magic, but he is a good passer. He is versatile.
It is just he just does not have the type of "superstar backbone" or "mamba mentality". When I said mamba mentality, I don't mean the bad habit Kobe used to have shooting bad shots, I mean the mentality of playing mean, playing tough, and playing with aggression.
Tatum always seems lost on the court in the 4th quarter, playing like he is doubting his own ability.
I know he is young, but it is quite sad to see the season end like this. It is never easy to get back to the same spot again, too much what-ifs. What if the Bucks are entirely healthy next season? What if Kyrie and KD clicked? What if Joel Embiid figured out a way to stay healthy? What if the Heat get more free agents? Sad to see Tatum and the Celtics missing such a huge opportunity to a champion.

His passing was one of his biggest issues. He had so many turnovers on passes. And he has this tendency to wait for a defender to set and then he tries to act like he’s The Professor and does these unnecessary moves when he’s not even a great ball handler. He’s not quick for nba standards. He should instead be using his length and size to his advantage. He’s a small forward trying to play like he’s a 2 guard.
And this team didn’t need him to play like kobe/Lebron/Jordan type. This team had a great defense that would win almost every night if they didn’t turn the ball over. But Tatum tried forcing the issue over and over and it kept leading to mistakes. Tatum turned into a liability the Celtics couldn’t overcome.

Warriors fan since the ‘74/75 championship (yeah, I’m old, lol). So many years we were the laughingstock of the NBA, then Lacob and Peters bought the team and turned them into a powerhouse. The Celtics are just starting their ascent, and scared me to death after their 2 playoff series. If they weren’t any good, what’s the big deal about beating them? They’re an excellent team, and came in second in the whole league. Respect. I remember how it felt losing the two championship series we had against the Cavs and Raptors. Sucked so bad. Dubs though, definitely the better team this year with the experience they have. I really enjoyed the Finals and thought it might go 7. But Steph and Company would not be denied.

Honestly this goes out to all those loud and rowdy Boston fans yall deserve this in every possible way. I hope all those Boston fans understand a great defense can be figured out with a team offense. They better also recognize the bucks, nets, sixers, heat will all be looking for them. All those teams I listed are gonna want to get after them. Good luck with the eastern conference before thinking about finals again. The warriors know there enemies already do y'all Boston?

There’s no doubt that JT is a future superstar, but please stop anointing these players as the next Kobe. The same thing happened when Booker was praised as such. These guys are young and have so much pressure on their shoulders as it is. Also, give the Warriors credit. Their defensive game plan was a nightmare for the Celtics. They forced the Celtics to play fast, which caused turnover after turnover.

Oh, he thinks he is the next Kobe, a player that was so overrated as well! Kobe won one title on his own and was carried by World Peace in that finals seventh game. Always with the high volume shooting and high degree of difficulty shots. Neither made or make their teammates better.

Bringing a full blooded playmaker back to Boston might be the key, not to get lost in TOs next time. It worked well till GS, but then it was obvious how insecure the make-up guards Smart&White were out there. IMO sending Dennis Schröder to Houston wasn’t a great decision.

Marcus you don’t learn anything from turnovers but loses. Turnovers is a mind set. It can be corrected. The problem is you guys couldn’t stop turning the ball over. You couldn’t stop turning the ball over. That you can’t work on during the summer. The Boston Celtics needs to go out and get a PG that can control both the game and the the players. The Celtics don’t have that guy.
