- "Steppin' Out" is a song written by Joe Jackson, originally included on his 1982 album Night and Day.
The song, inspired by Jackson's time in New York City, was his highest charting single in America.
Excellent I was listening to other bassists play this song, but this song played is perfect, the effect itself is everything, I am a school music teacher and I will definitely show the video to my students and tell them to see the perfection in steppin bass out

Ti racconto una curiosità: per anni e anni non riuscii mai sapere titolo e interprete di questa canzone. Ce l'avevo solo in testa e basta.
In età matura ma ancora acerba di tecnologia come Shazam (per esempio) per reperire il titolo di questa canzone, mi iscrissi ad un forum musicale e chiesi aiuto agli utenti, registrando con la voce, la melodia della canzone. Un utente capì subito di cosa si trattava e riuscì ad indicarmi titolo e cantante.
La versione originale ha un basso elettronico, ma è sempre piacevole suonarla anche se è veramente tosta.

I used to do similar to this in my younger days. Layer my 5 string ibanez bass over the top of my home stereo. I love how it sounds.

I read the studio bass track was provided by a synthesiser and so too the live performances, not a string bass instrument. Personally, I find this presentation more genuinely organic! Holy shit! 😮😮 absolutely raw bass skills! I actually use to think this was done on keyboard, because of the fast tempo I never realised it was done on actual bass guitar ,wow haha! I play bass myself I started in feb 2019.. I dont think bass could get anymore complex than this ! Fabulous work sweetie, raw talent , bloody love it! Xx

Great stuff! I find this *slightly* easier to play when using my 5-string because I can play the low F# at the 7th fret of the B string
