You cracked me up! I love the line "I don't trust dolphins". Not a sentence I've ever heard before.
Dolphins have actually sexually assaulted women over the years.. just saying..She might have a point.
Yeah dolphins are totally yerks, they eat our fish and they leave a planet when there is a problem "So long and thanks for all the fish"
Thanks guyz. I’ll never be able to look at dolphins the same way again!😐
@@almostblank4025 She definitely has a point. And so do the dolphins -- the male ones anyway.
@@WalterPidgeonsForge to be fair, Dolphins have been witnessed violating the hollowed out corpse of fish they killed like a fleshlight.
They'll have fun with any hole they find if they are in that mood.
I'm subscribed to his channel, he has a TON of great content.
This is the first video of his I’ve seen! I found it a perfect mix of informative & deadpan humor
Another good one is Zefrank, just as informative just as entertaining.
@@NoProtocol he has a great library of content, you should check out his videos
Hopefully his RUclips channel has enough success that he can buy a proper microphone. 😝
Indeed 👌🏾
I’ve used Oceania since college to describe that continent & region of the world. But I was definitely taught in Midwest middle & high schools that Australia was its own continent & New Zealand kinda just tagged along.
Yep, Australia is a continent and Oceania is a region that is basically all of the south western pacific ocean, inc AU and NZ and many many other islands
@@marcuschill8467 Yep, this is also how I learned it.
CG is a fantastic channel - you wouldn't go wrong with any of his videos. Honey Badger is one of my favorites.
I’ll put that one on the list! Thanks Andrei (:
I sound just like that when I laugh at your jokes. 🤣🤣🤣
Hi, I just discovered your channel by you tube surfing. I have to say, as a 61yrs old man, you give me hope that not all young people are doomed. You are obviously well read, and very aware. Keep up the good work, you are more precious than you know.
Growing up in Kenya we used to snorkel out and sometimes over the barrier reef. Stonefish we knew all about - having seen what happened to people who stepped on them. Stingray, Lion fish, Surgeon fish (lovely scalpels either side of the tail) and so many other fun things for kids to play with. Ah... it was fun growing up in the 60's/70's.
That title though 😂😂😂 videos like this is why I’m terrified of any body of water and will most likely never go swimming anywhere but clean pools
Greatest intro, no playing around, just straight to it haha
LMFAO, I'm giving you a like for the title alone. LOL thanks for the laugh. Merry Christmas.
It's not a book but l would definitely recommend, My Octopus Teacher, it's a documentary made by Craig Foster, a free diver who builds a relationship with a female Octopus in a cold water kelp forest of the coast off south Africa, filming her for over a year until her eventual natural death. Truly moving piece of work.....I was taught Australia, but then l am old school....🙂
This sounds heart warming
Great shout!
I first heard of My Octopus Teacher from Maggie Mae Fish doing an analysis on his documentary as though it was a horror movie. Discussing how we (more specifically filmmakers) put our meaning onto other things, people, and cultures and frame it for our benefit, and often end up silencing or speaking over the very voices we claim to be teaching us. It's pretty funny.
Casual started on tiktok but eventually moved to RUclips. He’s funny as hell while also being educational, definitely recommend any video from him!
I enjoyed this one for sure
I have been enjoying your content for awhile now, but... the title on this one actually made me laugh out loud. Awesome. Love your work, oh and congrats on hitting 50K subscribers (you deserve 100x more than that).
Fun continent fact, Zealandia has been discovered as the 8th continent (though it's been updated to be described as the largest micro continent), with the majority of it now submerged. This explains the wholesale differences between the biomes and animal life of Australia and New Zealand.
“Squid on whale crime”. Hilarious! Very clever.
14 Usain bolts 🤣 dude has a great sense of humor I was weak through most of this
Here in Poland I was taught that the continent is called Australia & Oceania. The Australia part is obvious and Oceania is used to describe everthing "around" Australia.
Btw. great video, as always! Love your reactions.
''Throat a Cactus'' is wild
Hi, love the content.
About the Australia-Oceania thing, gotta say i live in Cuba, here in Geography Class we are told that it´s called: "Australia and Oceania" as a whole.
so keep up the good work,
i love your vids and thanks for the insightfull comments and reflexions on all sort of matters.
EDIT: i gotta say that you instantly got me suscribed with the "Gotta love your Gaussian Graphs" comment , i can´t remember on what video was though
The seriousness in you face when he went to dolphins😂😂
as a brazilian I can safely say that I'll always think of Christ the redeemer doing a T pose from now on because of what you said lol
Elision here - you're literally the only reaction channel I sub to. I love how you don't spend half of the video promoting yourself. You just get straight into it. I'm willing to pay you to record a reaction to The Jokerr (two r's). e: Dead Horse is amazing but pick anything you want by him, it'd be a great christmas gift
Casual geographic has the best descriptions of checking out on YT
You're watching so many of my favorite channels lately, love it haha
What impresses me about that guy is how many humorous phrases he can come up with for something being killed.
🤘🥳
Ps; your start of videos are perfect 🖖
I just subscribed! I really enjoy your content. You're very bright, articulate , intelligent and charming. 🙂
Oh man, great choice for a reaction, I love Casual Geographic.
When you were doing that previous video about the depth of the ocean, all I could think about was that slenderman squid, and if they were going to address that terrifying thing.
As I type this, I see you look a bit confused about the whale vomit thing. Go ahead and look up ambergris. You've probably heard of it.
Edit: Oh, I believe he did/does videos on IG, and his videos on youtube are mostly all compilations of those.
You react to most of the videos I love to watch, and you know your shit, nice to come across a youtuber with intelligence
Since you don't know much about Marine life, my recommendation is to check out The Peacock Mantis Shrimp, not only is it my favourite animal on the planet it also has the best abilities too, I think ZeFrank has a video on it.
Casual Geographic is great, love his content. Might i recommend TierZoo also, he creates tier lists based on different groups of fauna on the planet whilst describing them using a lot of gaming terminology. His videos tend to not be too long but also very informative.
I'd also put ZeFrank in the same vein of informative and entertaining media.
I was taught that Australia is the country, Australasia is the local group of landmasses (Australia, New Zealand, pretty sure there's a couple more islands) and Oceania is the Continental Plate consisting of Australia, New Zealand and the Islands above. Though i could be wrong, never quote me on anything i say.
All i can find in regards to Dork (with the exception of it's dictionary definition) is that it's American Slang from the 1960's meaning penis, probably a less offensive derivative of the shortening of Richard. Another example would be frick being exchanged for fu*k.
Toxins, venom, and poisons are fascinating. So many vectors and mechanisms to disrupt things in the body. Cobras use a type of hemotoxin that coagulates the blood. A couple drops in a can of blood can have it looking like cranberry jelly in moments. Brown recluse spiders use a type for necrotoxin that will damage cells. Depending on how much it spreads a bit could cause multiple pockets of dead cells that have the potential to become septic or gangrenous.
Interesting bit of UFI, both atropine and anticonvulsants were used as prophylactics for some types of nerve agents. Atropine is itself a nerve agent, one of the chemicals found in deadly nightshade, and even named after the Greek fate who would cut the threads of people's fates, ending their lives. IIRC it would bind to the same receptors in the nervous system, and by doing so block an even worse chemical from binding even more tightly to the same receptors for a time.
If you are looking for an interesting read about marine life I still recommend "Other Minds" by Peter Godfrey-Smith.
Casual Geographic is great. His videos are always interesting. Lots of fun animal facts to learn.
Yes! He’s also quite funny
Casual Geographic is my favorite he’s hilarious and informative
The title for this one has me dying.😂
The reason we think dolphins are cute and friendly is because of the stories that are passed on by survivors. Thing is, the bad encounters had no survivors, so no stories to pass on. Never thought about it that way, until Anita shared her thoughts on it.
CG often calls Dolphins "The Humans of the Sea" and i think that is just so very appropriate.
Go swimming at La Jolla Shores toward the end of summer.
Lots of fun chasing the *6 foot long Leopard Sharks* around.
Wisconsin education taught me Australia. I read about Oceania later on. I remember a folk tale I was told when I was a boy. It was about a magic mill on a ship that would make salt, but it got stuck and kept making salt and the weight sunk the ship and the mill sank to the bottom the the ocean making salt still to this day, and that's why the ocean is salty.
You know what, let’s just go with that from now on
Every time I hear "T-posing" I think of penguins
The way she says under her breathe “an hour” was hysterical.
5:43 that was the only time I will ever see you being super surprised
Awesome, just another day at the beech - should see what we have to fight off to get there. Cheers and thanks from Australia. P.S we call it Australasia while Oceania i the wet bits with a bit of sand scattered about.
omg somebody down there said ZeFrank and YES PLEASE! Everyone i've ever shown one of his videos has loved it, i'd enjoy seeing your reaction too; and more from Casual Geographic wouldn't be a bad thing (also btw great channel/content, thank you, love your right into it intro)
Cheers Deborah. The kids spot on. Started watching him in 2018. Remember, question everything. Slan go foill☘️
Cheers Deborah, never heard that. Is it a saying?
@@NoProtocol 😵💫 so sorry. Thought that was your name. 🥴I'm a dunderhead sometimes. ☘️
@@NoProtocol I, again apologize. Didn't know there was two no protocols on you tube. If I may ask your name?, so I may address you other than young Lady. I feel like an Idiot. Wish you the best. Slan ☘️
A lot of these animals are founds in Australia..
I didn't need this video to tell you that 😂
Australia is like Earth's deadly garden
My favourite content creator. You deserve much bigger numbers,
“Squid-on-whale crime” had me laughing.
Whats interesting is the tourist are warned don't mess with the sharks, stingrays, rock fish or other stuff and they still would go ahead and do it. They need to suscribe to this guys channel.
He has a honey badger video that's downright legendary in puns and delivery
Love this guy's channel. He's hilarious. worthy of a sub.
love your sweater!
I don't believe I'm the THEORY of evolution but this guy's content is pretty funny and your reaction is funny.
Amazing how misunderstood the word THEORY is in science. It is not a synonym to hypothesis...instead it's an explanation of observed facts and the proposed answer to the WHY of it all. Something only becomes a theory when it has gone through a rigorous process of peer review and testing and can accurately make predictions using this THEORY. You definitely do not need to believe in evolution(which is in truth a fact). The theory of evolution by means of natural selection is the 'theory'. Using theory as a knock to something is misguided at best.
New sub, necroing this to say I've always called it Australasia, I'm 47 and Scottish, this is what I was taught.
In my country, Denmark, we are generally taught that Oceania is a region and Australia is a continent.
That title, bwaahahahaha! Awesome!
Something to look up regarding cetaceans is that one way we know that they were (relatively speaking on evolutionary terms) recently land animals is that they still have a pelvis/hip bones. Something no other aquatic creature has, since they've never needed the extra support.
That's a really nice jumper.
I’m Australian and a school teacher. The continent is Australia, and the region is Oceania. There are many islands that make up Oceania along with the continent of Australia.
It’s an interesting one but I’ve come to realize what it’s called depends entirely on the country the person is from. South Americans, some Europeans & many Asian countries teach it to be Oceania. I’ve also heard it called Australia, just one of those interesting disconnects in geographic education. Thanks for weighing in John!
1. Casual geographic may be the best channel on RUclips. Dude's as witty as he is educational, which is very
2. "I don't trust dolphins" As if I needed anymore evidence you're one of the smarter people on this platform *Fist bump*
He leaves many interesting facts out.
I always look forward to ur reactions keep up the good work hi from England
Hey, thanks Nigel!
Throat a cactus lol
Have you seen that episode of The Simpsons where Dolphins take over ? lol
I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen that show. Does it give a reason to trust dolphins?
@@NoProtocol No they're all evil & it's absolutely terrifying lol
Case closed
good one, love all your vids
Hey, thanks James!
So a little trivia on that angel shark clip. It was a spiny dogfish shark that it tried to eat. The dogfish has spines on its dorsal fin. So when the angel swallowed the dogfish it stung the angel inside its mouth. The angel then spits out the dogfish and swims away.
Coming live from the Gold Coast in Australia. On the name of the continent. It's Australia and also the name of the country. It just happens to be a single country continent. Also, an island. Oceania is the Australian/Pacific region (Australia, Fiji, NZ, Soloman Islands et al). Love the channel. Crikey, see ya mates.
Casual Geographic is one of the best channels I have ever watched. He has a great sense of humor and gives great facts. Check out his take on Honey Badgers,
Throating a cactus is a wild statement 💀
Lol take it up with Casual Geographic
Love the jumper!
Thank you (:
Oh wow! A reply on a 10 month old video. Bless you... Only recently discovered your channel and its a calming escape in these troubling times. @@NoProtocol
You should try playing Subnautica. It's a nice, gentle marine game.
Yeah. I'm sure you already know this by now, but that guy is MASSIVE on TikTok. All of his content is amazing
Why do I like this channel so much??? The f...
Being an old(ish) British fart, when I was taught at school (many moons ago), the continents were The Americas (not seperated as North and South), Europe, Africa, Asia, Antartica and Austrailasia. However, apparently some find that term (Austrailasia) offenisve now, for some reason has never been made clear to me. The term Oceania was never mentioned, and I'd only heard that much later and only as in a loose reference to the islands of the South Pacific (and as the regional assocation for Australia, New Zealand and the SP islands in football (the round ball game, not the US handegg version)).
Casual Geographic is great. Nothing like laughing while you learn.
-Can scream your heart and brain to death, check
-Can be heard from miles away, check
-can eat over half a million callories at once. check
Bro's just describing my wife
Theirs a video about how deep the ocean really is I think ud love it
Redacted lol didn't know u did it already
It’s strange I am Australian and have never heard Oceania pronounced that way.
I hear it regularly pronounced with a silent “I” though a quick google supports it being fully pronounced with the “I”
please react to more Casual Geographic! He’s hilarious and his videos are so entertaining
I’ve always called it Oceania growing up in the U.K. I was speaking to an American friend and they referred to it as Australia. I thought they were hi but google taught me people say that too.
btw this video reminded me of another great video about the ocean "Thalassophobia" by the channel Solar Sands, idk how you feel about longer videos but this one is really interesting talking about a lot of things ocean related.
Thalassophobia is one of those words that never come up naturally in conversation, but I’d like to use. I’ll check out the video, thank you Moisès!
Cuddle fish. Personal favorite
Jaws by Peter Benchley Good movie, GREAT book... 🦈👍🦈
I think I learned the continent as Australia in school (I don't remember hearing Oceania), BUT I was also a fan of maps when I was a kid (I put together puzzles of the 50 states when I was 5 and learned the countries/capitals of South America through a computer game/program when I was 7) and knew of Oceania through other sources. It might have been in that game where I learned it, but I'm not sure.
Same. I have severe thallasophobia. And, being from Florida, I've faced it unsuccessfully many times with lakes and rivers. I absolutely refuse to go far into the surf. I've seen what rip currents can do.
Cone snails shoot harpoons at 400 mph THROUGH WATER! That's some serious power there considering how dense the wall of water is deep in the ocean.
This guy's great. I worked in Morocco after my studies and can confirm that everything he says about honey badgers checks out.
similar to the dolphin noise, the lion roar you hear in movies and games is almost never a real lions roar. its usually a tigers roar or a tigers roar combined with various other things
That dude had a good sense of humor.
Casual Geographic is great, but when oh when is he actually going to eat that lollipop?
The title of the video finished me 💀
An ocean wave took my swim trunks once :)
1:19 Jesus wants a hug!!!
Best topic ever :D
I always called it the Australian Continent, but did you know there is currently a debate going on as to whether New Zealand is actually part of another seperate Continent (mostly currently submerged) called Zealandia
No, I had no clue of this! Now I’ll read up on it. Geography is a strange thing..
Also New Guinea is part of the Australian continent.
7:44 is not Dolphin. It's an Orca.
"I don't trust dolphins one bit." This!
In school in the 80s they said the continent was called ' Australasia' then a 15 years later they called it 'oceana'
I've never clicked a thumbnail so fast! Good video though so not a complete disappointment
the fact everything we know about the ocean is about 5% of it scares the hell out of me
The honey badger episode is funny.
Manta Rays are my favorite animal. Majestic as fuck.
