As someone whose had a miscarriage before, I can imagine the strength it took to make this video. Thanks for sharing your experience and for these brilliant videos!
Oh my goodness, I have never had a miscarriage, but I can only imagine the emotions one goes though. I started to cry when you spoke of your personal experience, especially the therapeutic communication you did not receive.
I really enjoy your side notes and soapbox, it really sinks in when you say things like, 'there is no at least, my baby still died'. That's powerful (and true!)
Thank you thank you thank you. This is forever one of my soapboxes. I know that people are uncomfortable and awkward and don't really know what to say, but having been on the receiving end I can tell you...THIS ISN'T IT!!! So happy I can help! --Meris :)
I appreciate the info given in these videos, but I also LOVE how you both incorporate personal stories into them! It helped me understand the severity of many of these complications.
I had a complete molar pregnancy in Jan 2022. Came to the ER with heavy bleeding🩸with blood clots and I knew I was pregnant like 5/6 weeks. I was so scared 😢for my pregnancy🤰🏻and they told me I had very high HCG levels. So, I ended up have two D&C and my HCG levels checked every week to make it goes back to normal and it did not.😢Then, I was diagnosed was GTD…..had to have 6 rounds of chemotherapy until HCG was at/under 0.8 (July 2023) I glad it worked and still able to have children 👶🏻🙏 ♥️January 2023 I’m pregnant 🤰🏻!!! Had a normal healthy pregnancy🙏 and a healthy baby girl in October 2023🥹Gracias a Dios✨🙏
I CAN TOTALLY FEEL YOUR PAIN, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING STRONG AND SHARING YOUR PERSONAL STRONG , MAY GOD GIVE YOU A STRENGTH AND BECOME STRONGER THEN WHO YOU ARE NOW.THAMK YOU ONCE AGAIN
Thank you for being so open and for sharing your own personal experience. All of your videos are great btw! I am in my last block of nursing so I am doing a lot of review and they are very helpful!
Thank for making these easy videos for us nursing students! Thank you for being open and vulnerable about your experience, I can tell you passionate about your career.
I like the speed that you lecture with and it’s straight forward and able to understand without rewinding .. it would be nice to see what your cards look like up close..
I want to thank you for lecturing on these topics especially since they must be difficult to discuss. Thank you for your video and educating future nurses so we may service with empathy to others in difficult times for them.
Thank you so much for your very kind comment. I think by sharing openly about our experiences and how we were impacted by them, we can help to develop more empathetic and considerate medical professionals! Thank you again. --Meris :)
Your cards and video explanations are very valuable. I bought the cards and didn't use them until one of my professors told us to watch your videos. Everything that is taught in the program is actually on your cards. I use them for my 'previews' and 'reviews' because your cards and videos are the main points of all those long chapters. Thank you.
I have been watching Level Up RN videos since ATI Maternal Newborn, but I wished I had known about them since it helped me level up on my ATIs.. i even watch them to help me review for the course exams… thank you so much❤
I can really feel the emotions in this video🙏😭😭😭...Am sorry about all what you've been through thanks for being strong!.God in control 🙏..and I do love your videos ma'am
Thank you for clarifying. A molar pregnancy is not exactly the same as gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD), but it is a type of GTD. So, all molar pregnancies are considered GTDs, but not all GTDs are molar pregnancies.
Thanks Maris, your reviews are detailed, very informative and bringing up salient points one needs to to know as a midwife especially your review on hydatidiform mole thrilled me so much. Best regards ❤.
Yes! I had to stop to comment. Please do not tell anybody who has lost their baby, “it probably wasn’t the right time,” “things happen for a reason,” “at least you can try again,” “it was meant to be.” Although it may seem like the right thing to say it is so hard to justify the loss of your baby. Nothing can ever replace your baby.
Sometimes we want to say the “right thing” so badly that we forget that just being with someone and offering our presence for support can be all that is needed. Thank you for sharing-I am so glad this resonated with others! -Meris ♥️
Thank you for explaining hydatidiform mole! I had a question regarding this on my NCLEX question bank, and I couldn't understand the rationale. Your explaination helped make more sense of it.
Everything is helpful. I wish we have RUclips and this subject during my Nursing school years! Maternal Nursing class was my weakest subject and the only time I was able to grasp or understand it was the time I got pregnant 🙃
Last year we tried. I got pregnant but had a early miscarriage and just worked a lot to keep my mind off everything. DH (boyfriend then) took it very hard and said he wanted to stop trying so I let it be. Well fast forward almost a year and it’s 2 am we’re both extremely tired. He doesn’t pull out and we just fall asleep and I think nothing of it. A few weeks later I’m getting all the same symptoms of my period. So the day of my period I had extra test . Took one for fun to my surprise it came back positive. Now I’m 28 weeks with our baby girl and we couldn’t be more happy
Every pregnant woman reading this I pray that your baby grows to full life. I pray right now in the name of Jesus to protect your womb. May he fill it with mighty health, peace, love, and protection. I come against disorders, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, miscarriage.. I plead the blood of Jesus over your placenta and blood flow. God said in his word ask and it shall be given. It is HIGHLY important to start praying for your unborn child right now, not only for their health but pray over protection for them for their life entering in the world. God honors this. Pray life into them and life into yourself now. May the lord answer you right away and may you feel a difference. Let God’s will be done. Father we thank you for your mercy and grace. In Jesus name I pray Amen. God thank you for allowing a healthy and safe labor and delivery.
Thank you ,I want to know more about what causes ectopic and if having ectopic in your first pregnancy is it likely you can experience another ectopic in your second pregnancy?
That makes my day, thank you so much. I knew about him, but didn't know that he gave his name to the position until reading it. But this is one way how we can make changes...I share it with you, you share it with people, they share it, etc.! It may be small change, but it's meaningful and important! Thanks so much for this comment :) --Meris
This may be a dumb question but in this age of medical technology and innovation why wouldn't we be able to place a stint of some sort in the fallopian tube allowing the fetus enough room to progress into the uterine cavity. Of course, this is assuming we catch it soon enough to save both the mother and baby. Just wondering.
Great question! The anatomical structure of the uterus is such that it is meant to stretch and accommodate the growth of a fetus. Simply put, the anatomical structure of the fallopian tube is not capable of that level of stretch. Just like arteries are elastic in order to accomodate the intensity of arterial blood pressure, while veins lack that ability, the fallopian tube just can't do that. There's no way to allow the fetus to progress into the uterine cavity, because it has implanted/attached to the tissue of the fallopian tube, where it will stay and grow. I hope that helps! --Meris :)
@@LevelUpRN Gotcha! I totally missed the "attached" aspect...I was under the impression that there was some type of occlusion issue and it just couldn't pass through. Thanks so much for your prompt response...that's what puts you guys above all the rest.
I had the mole thing at the same time I was pregnant with my first son,I had a c section,he was only 4lbs,hes a man now, but, back in the 1980s,we only had exrays,no ultrasound ,at least my ob didnt.i found out about the hydrated mo l e because I looked at my chart, but I never asked about it
Hello Dr....i have end up my pregnancy due to missed abortion.......i have gone through d&e after7 days i went for scan and doctor said that there is a piece of sac inside the tube....... What is the solution......now .....plz reply me ...
THIS MY 2 TUBLE MY SECOND TUBAL PREGNANCY IN SIX YEARS THE FIRST ONE I LOST Ii January 6, i would of been 5 month on the janury 15 but i lost it , n this is my 2 tuble. I see doctor call Wellington Texas and I didn't have no primary doctor and I was looking and looking and since I found out I was pregnant I finally got a primary doctor and I don't have to go back to dollars or back anywhere else but my question is why did this keep happening to me I can't handle another miscarriage point of tying your tubes thought I can handle another miscarriage I thought that was the whole reason why you tubes n I just turn 44 years old September 6th
Very scary for sure! But it is also incredibly rare; only about 0.1% of pregnancies are diagnosed as molar. In my decade of outpatient OBGYN experience, I only ever saw one patient with this condition! --Meris :)
As someone whose had a miscarriage before, I can imagine the strength it took to make this video. Thanks for sharing your experience and for these brilliant videos!
This is such a kind thing to say, thank you so much! And I’m so sorry for the loss you experienced as well ♥️ -Meris
Thanks for sharing that. It is so hard for Mom. It is tough topic.
The amount of empathy you carry is phenomenal .
Thank you!

Thank you for this video. I also lost my baby. Carried like that for a month before having to have D&C because tissues wouldn’t come out
You are so welcome! Wishing you all the best.
What can you do to prevent ectopic in your subsequent pregnancies. I really love your lectures .God bless you.

Gosh, My Mom did same thing! In grocery, she was dripping a blood trail, left her cart, she had a grapefruit size mass in her uterus.

that makes two of us, sorry to hear about the miscarriages, shalom.
Another example is the Dr. Simms foot note, I have shared that with a ton of ppl. (I love history tho, and hate jerk ppl that play with humans lives)

Glad you think so!
ty for your video
Very welcome!
don’t worry if you don’t have symptoms. Ectopic pregnancies are statistically rare so your chances of having a normal IUP are much higher
Very true! It's scary to discuss all of these complications, but on the whole most pregnancies do not experience them! --Meris :)

Some RUclipsr non health professional actually explained it better... "when a sperm fertilized an empty egg" is simple terms.
The molar pregnancy thing terrifies me.

Does a chemical pregnancy count as an abortion?
At this point I’m waiting for a miscarriage I don’t want to have a baby 😢I already have 2
our politicians are not medically versed either... Scary
