    I am an expat Glaswegian and quite honestly this is how everybody there talks all the time. I mean the sarcasm and of course the accent. Still funny but made me homesick. As an aside, I naturally use sarcasm here in Canada and it does not always go down well. I would go crazy if not for my Brit friends who get were I am coming from. Literally.

      Alex Lynch That's hilarious, I love the name you gave it! I'm sure my family would force me to attend if such a thing existed. Can you imagine the meetings though? Everyone would be fighting for their chance to speak, no one would be listening to anyone else, they'd all be talking over each other, and the meetings would last for hours and hours!!

    • @KatarinaS.
      @KatarinaS. 4 года назад +1

      Oh, wait, I just realized the group was actually for the families and not the over-talkers, sorry, my mistake. That would be a very different type of meeting, probably not as interesting, but at least they could vent and finally get a word in. The over-talkers are the ones that really need the help, though, to learn to talk less, let others have their turn, and not keep people hostage with their incessant talking. Not that I know anything about that though...

      It was, in the early '90s when Rob Newman came up with the character Ray, a man afflicted with a rare medical condition that gives him a permanently sarcastic tone of voice.
      There are some of his clips here on RUclips.

    When I was off the wagon I found some of the most reliable sources at Narc Anon meetings. Most people don't realize that 95% of AA-type attendees fail. Think how many sources they know. And what happened in NA stayed in NA, or was supposed to anyway.
    So I would make acquaintance with everyone knowing that we might be trading info down the road.
