"So Supernatural" Lyrics:
Strange happenings
I could not hide
Felt the energy
She pulled me aside
She said "Don't worry now.
We can ride the tides."
Felt the pull of those burnin' eyes
Caught in a trance of time
Drawn together by the fire light
Lost in her magic spell
And playing the game she knew so well.
So supernatural
With eyes that glowed in the moonlight
So supernatural
Of potions and powders to make you feel right
So supernatural
Like a shadow in the candlelight
So supernatural
A vision of wonder all dressed in white.
And I wonder how long can this go on.
Midnight imaginings confusing reality
Caught in a whirlpool of one's own fantasy
Saying good goodbye to dull personalities
We are just victims of our own destinies
We let our minds take wings
And soar away
To where strange powers lie
There was more to her than met the eye.
So supernatural
With eyes that glowed in the moonlight
So supernatural
Of potions and powders to make you feel right
So supernatural
Like a shadow in the candlelight
So supernatural
A vision of wonder all dressed in white.
And I wonder how long can this go on.
She brought me up......she brought me down
The tables were turning, around and around
Over and over.......the music got stronger
Ups and downs I couldn't take it no longer
Draining my energies ‘till there was no more
Felt it was time to head for the door
But something must have gone so wrong
So supernatural
With eyes that glowed in the moonlight
So supernatural
With potions and powders to make you feel right
So supernatural
Like a shadow in the candlelight
So supernatural
A vision of wonder all dressed in white.
So supernatural
So supernatural
And I wonder how long can this go on.

Blue Oyster Cult fans don’t die
They just become aliens or vampires
...or both.
or veterans of thousands psychic wars
Love it. That's how it works. For real.
Or Ghosts, Spectres.
We already are and have always been thus.
All of the references! Richie has outdone himself.
Wonderfully mystic song and video
I believe this song's lyrics were from Joe Bouchard's pen. All songs on this release are from 1978 thru 1983 and had been in their former audio engineers vault, Richie did some of the mixing to get them published.
@@billstanton9446 I had heard it was like Van Halen's A Different Kind Of Truth.
They are amazing. This song is so twisted. Can't get it out of my head.
I love this vibe that BÖC has with horror things. Watching this clip it came to my mind that it would fit very well with the Supernatural tv show hahaha
Trying to decide if the car is Christine
They were included (sort of) in one of the early seasons of Supernatural. Great show, great band!
I actually got chills when the Lady in White entered Four Winds Bar!
You and the Guys Rock Richie!! Always my favs!
Joe Bouchard singing, NICE.
So happy to be able to hear these amazing songs that for whatever reason did not make it onto the albums. We got the Buck Dharma Archives many years ago that were terrific and now we get the Blue Oyster Cult archives! Great to hear Albert, Joe and all the boys together again on vinyl!
Margaret and I concur. 😊
WOW! Bravo Joe Bouchard! And it's Rick Downey on drums?! Wild!
I'm surprised that of all of Richie's "Easter Eggs" dropped in this video as references to earlier BOC songs and symbols, nobody has mentioned that the mansion is surrounded by a wheat field...surely a reference to the Reaper's scythe, and wheat being prominently featured on other BOC albums (such as Cult Classic). Also, note that the windows are barred in the center of the mansion, a nod to "Astronomy".
Thanks for pointing out the reference of the wheat field in Cult Classic! My interpretation of the wheat field was a reference to the initial scene of the movie Heavy Metal but your interpretation makes more sense from a pure BOC tribute perspective. And I totally missed the barred windows reference to Astronomy! Thanks for finding it!
What a treat . A Legendary band if there ever was one.
2024 is shaping up for a great year in Rock & Metal releases! Can't wait for this!!!
Just preordered the CD. This better not be the last record. Excuse me now, I have to listen to curse of the hidden mirror, which is awesome.
Love seeing all the old BOC imagery.
Oh HELL YES! That was a blast, and a great Easter egg hunt!
one of the best rock bands ever.
Excited for this album! Great tune!! Cheers all!
0:04 Album Cover of Imaginos
1:12 Car from a Music Video
1:06 The Lady is a Tatooed Vampire, referencing the Song "Tattoo Vampire" and "The Lady in White" from "I Love the Night" (Thx obtenebration)
1:22 There lies Romeo and Juliet, like in the Song "Dont fear the Reaper"
1:27 Theres a Song called "Joan Crawford" where its said that Joan Crawford Has risen from her grave
1:56 Albumcover from "Workshop of the Telescopes" (Not "some Egyptian Stuff")
5:12 The Agent from the Cover of "Agents of Fortune" and a Live Album
5:18 There are sitting at the "Four Winds Bar" that is mentioned in more than one Song, but Astronomy is the Most Popular one.
5:20 of course the Reaper is from Dont fear the Reaper.
So one could say, they Honored at least One Music Video, Four Songs and Three Album Covers within this Video.
And probably theres much more references!
I appreciate this analysis
Respectfully, I'd submit that in addition to the Tatooed Vampire at 1:06, she also represents "' the lovely lady in white by my side" from I Love the Night off the Spectres album.
@obtenebration2654 ...she was a vampire, too. "No mortal was meant to know such wonder. One look in the mirror told me so"
@@obtenebration2654 youre Right! and maybe this is the answer to who is the Lovely Lady: A Vampyre.
BÖC. Always and forever for me. My nr 1 band.
... near one ...?
Very cool video, guys! Your hard work is much appreciated. 👍😎👍
American Rocker is goood
Another masterpiece from my favorite band of all time! So haunting....sooo nice! Great job to everyone involved!
After seeing BOC here in Reno in the summer of 2022 and being blown away at how phenomenal that show was, I figured that was the "bucket list" concert.
Fast forward to 2024 and this wonderful news! Thank you for keeping the dream alive.
They need to do a full Bouchard's Imaginos tour ...that would be the way to go out. The most criminally underrated band ever
BOC...Always great...Always!
One of my dreams is to be able to go to a show by this wonderful band, but now so close to retiring, I realize that I will never be able to do it.
But I'm grateful to be able to listen to your music. :´)
They’re still touring for now I believe!! Somehow! 🤣 I saw them in 2019 and can’t recommend it enough if you’re able to see them before they call it a day!
Make it HAPPEN !!
@@spookyspider1014 I'm from Brazil, I don't think they ever came here, and it's a little difficult for me to travel so far to see them ç.ç
@@That-Mark-Guy If I won the lottery, I would get it hahahaaha
Good Luck, Dill. You cannot win if you don't play. I have been lucky enough to see them a few times from The Alaska State Fair to Charlotte,NC. and a few spots in between. Actually had a few beers with them behind the bar/venue in Hickory, NC after a show. Talked baseball and debated WW2 fighter planes. My wife collected a good pocket of guitar picks from Mr. Roeser. Got her Jean jacket signed by the band. Quite an enchanted evening, for sure. Don't forget to tip whoever sells you that lottery ticket.
If anybody had any doubt how much influence Ghost takes from BOC, this song proves it. You could play this for a Ghost fan and tell them it was Ghost and they would probably believe you.
I barely know Ghost but I had the exact same thought when I heard this song.
Ghost has probably brought a lot of younger fans to BOC!
LMAO! Complete bullshit. Ghosts older material definitely has huge BOC influence, but this sounds absolutely nothing like Ghost and any Ghost fan would easily know the difference. The vocals especially sound nothing like Tobias.
100% agree, i love Ghost but but but just don’t believe Tobias when he says he’s never really listened to BOC. Kiss the Goat, Mary on a Cross etc totally Indebted to BOC……
Really??? Tracks 9 and 12 from Impera are such BOC rip offs, i love both bands but at times the similarities are spooky
Can't wait to get the CD !
A tattoo madam sucking the skin!!
Excellent video celebrating their long history.
The House of Imaginos. A bedtime story for the living, and ghosts. The lady in white. Coming to Bucks side, in his hour of needs. Truly a tribute to the band. The new members. And the original lineup. I can honestly say, "I can die now. And become a Ghost. The catalog is now finished! What more can come in the future..... But. Stand~by. They may surprise us-another time."
The lady in white being the tattoo vampire or am I missing something?
The deepfakes video of young Joe singing this track were an absolute treat. Richie, this whole video is absolutely stellar, and you crammed it just FULL of Easter eggs for hardcore BÖC fans. Everything from the clock on the wall reading precisely midnight to the Four Winds Bar and the statue of the Doberman from the first record (and, where I first saw it, on the *Workshop Of the Telescopes* box set, which I bought in the mid-90s, as the nearest CD shop to my Podunk town was literally a 35-40 minute drive, and they only had compilations, *AOF*, and *FOUO*, which didn’t satisfy me. I was a precocious 12-year old who was deeply into poetry AND rock ‘n’ roll, and I did things like order the collected lyrics of all BÖC songs from an address I found inside one of the compilations, took the lyrics I received in the mail to a Kinko’s, where I had them re-print them. Considering what I was paying, I got 5 copies made: I’d had them printed intro pocket-sized books, bound in black faux-leather, with the logo embossed into the cover and filled with silver paint. Inside, I made the pages of heavy paper stock that I felt was reminiscent of parchment, and I left wide margins for annotations, as well as fifteen extra pages in the back of the book for use if I ever deciphered the whole of the Pearlman mythos. I gave a copy to my best mate, who, despite being older than me, was a bit of a follower, though he was loyal to the core and would’ve taken a bullet for me, if he hadn’t ultimately taken a bullet for himself (R.I.P., Jeff). Anyroad, when I became obsessed with BÖC, so did he, and that was largely how the two of us acquired so many records/tapes/CDs so rapidly: we pooled our money and dubbed cassette copies of each other’s records. SO many afternoons spent in the shed that he used to practise his electric guitar, drinking beer and cheap vodka, doing bong rips, and alternating jamming together on the guitar, with each of us slumped into bean-bag chairs with our pens and BÖC books, minds racing. I was also, back then, a fairly formidable graphic artist, and I kept a sketch pad over Jeff’s as well. I would listen to some of the more atmospheric and evocative tracks (especially Side Two of *AOF*), whilst under the influence of cannabis, then, by 14, mescaline, and OTC sleeping pills, which when taken in large quantity (like 18 or 20 tablets) are a deliriant which creates incredibly realistic audiovisual hallucinations not merely sensory distortions, but the manifestations of actual sounds and realistic 3-D images, like shadowy figures crawling around my peripheral vision. It turned out to be the perfect drug for listening to BÖC, as it almost ALWAYS generated terrifying imagery, and there was interplay between the music/lyrics, and the hallucinations. O however, because the experience was so intense, realistic, and terrifying, it was something I did very infrequently, because unlike psychedelics, there were times I would forgotten that I’d even taken a drug. Apart from that, it did unsettling things to my circulatory system, and I began to fear it could cause a stroke, or perhaps blow up my heart.
However, the point is, my obsession with BÖC was absolute, and now, 30 years later, it seems mad that I would take it all so seriously, especially now I actually know (and have known-R.I.P., Allen) the true personalities of the guys, but back then, there was a mystique around their music that only existed around the work of a few others-namely, The Doors’ more aethereal tracks, and the songs of Syd Barrett’s solo career. (All of which I also studied and learnt from, as a poet and songwriter.) I’m happy to see-30 years later-, Richie Castellano recognising that mystique and that strange hypnotic power in their songs’ imagery, and bringing it all to life in this video.
I hate knowing there will be no more BÖC records past this one; however, I’m happy to know their legacy is secured, and that the Book Of Blue Öyster Cult ends with an archeological adventure through their fabled history in order to reassemble these artefacts from dissolute fragments, and like Viktor Frankenstein, to breathe life into them that the holes in their history might be filled, and their tale may be left complete.
Thanks to @BlueOysterCult , @Georgegeranios, @AlbertBouchard, @JoeBouchard, and last, but not at all least, @RichieCastellano for making this extraordinary project possible.
Great, and catchy song! It's stuck in my head, which is a good thing. BOC was always a sci-fi movie making band to me, I always loved getting the images of the songs as a movie in my head. Been on board since the early '70's and it's been a fun ride. Hopefully they'll be doing one last tour, and hit WNY.
Oh yeah, love the Easter eggs in the video. Nice job Richie!
We TRULY need a Imaginos Part II! Bring is on, with the same type of sound and production!
The whole "Imaginos" trilogy has now been released by Albert Bouchard as it was meant to be. The original B. Ö. C. "Imaginos" as we know it is only a cut up version of that. Ok, better late than never.
Sooo hyped! The Best news of 2024! And to think I thought that „Symbol Remains” will be BÖC last album… I’n happy to write: How foolish of me! New album cover gives vibes of „Spectres”, I hope it’s gonna be as good. Can’t wait!!!
They should go on tour with Ghost.
Yeah! Of course, Ghost will have to open….
YES!!
And make it a 4hr concert
wow great music, great video, with all the mystical codes of BÖC (Joan Crawford coming out of the cemetery, the 4 winds bar with the medium bartender from the Agent Of Fortune album, the live car on your feet, on your knees, the castle of Baron von Frankenstein, the ghosts of the album specters, and of course the symbol of Saturn from BÖC 🪐) 🤘
Good use of some of the classic BOC iconography. Thanks for all the great music over the years guys!
Day after day its growing in me,reminds me the sound of Yes or Asia
Cool seeing respect to Rick Downey
Awesome & a pleasant surprise!!!
BOC always amazing!
She has risen, again!
Great use of #CharacterCreator and iClone! 🔥
Very well done. Keeping with the spirit of the band.
New BOC, excellent!!
Really good production on this and a great sounding track overall. I think Ritchie Castellano has to be given a lot of credit for taking the BOC franchise forward into the 21st century, capitalising on AI and all the latest technologies plus his creative talents. This is both classic sounding and also at the same time so much needed in the present day and age. I think the use of AI was destined to be a part of BOC, the band who has written songs on supernatural, ETI, science fiction, etc. It was just a matter of time. Rock on BOC! Looking forward to the album's release on 12th April.
Just made my day!!! Sending to my wife now. If she doesn't like it then it's divorce!
Love It !!!
The cult is back and never dissappear ❤⚰️
A year with new albums from Judas Priest, Magnum, Mark Knopfler? Now even new from Blue Öyster Cult? Most welcome!
And Ghost!
I just got the new Judas Priest CD. It's good. I also got the new Bruce Dickinson CD. It's good as well.
I love BOC and will get this album but this sounds more like a solo Joe Bouchard song. I always love his ideas for songs but they never sound very complex or complete. As a band back in the 70s/80s they had so many cool ideas mixed together that it just blew me away. Both Bouchard brothers still have great ideas but no filters.
That said, any BOC is better than no BOC. Thank you guys for all the hard work and the great legacy. You'll always be my favorite band.
The team based song writing during the first three albums spoiled us. The extra cooks helped on those albums.
Here’s what I found as Easter Eggs in BOC’s So Supernatural (Ghost Stories) video:
Easter Eggs, identified so far as I‘ve seen appearing chronologically.
- Initial scene, mansion on a hill from the Imaginos album cover
- References to the movie Heavy Metal (Veteran of the Psychic Wars - Fire of Unknown Origin):
o Car driving on a road surrounded by wheat fields approaching the house.
o Person getting out of the car and only legs are seen.
o Different house windows glowing greenish throughout the video.
- Woman in white (I Love the Night - Spectres)
- The projector showing the old concert clips referring to the Tainted Blood video from the Symbol Remains.
- The BOC symbol on the front door of the house.
- The various guitars shown throughout the video honoring those used by Buck and Eric through time.
- The 3 tombstones with Romeo, Joan and Juliet names engraved on them (Agents of Fortune and FOUO).
- Joan Crawford rising from her grave (FOUO) and her various appearances in the rest of the video.
- Anubis on its pedestal (The Revolution By Night - inner sleeve)
- The arched window with the moon (AOF).
- The ghost that runs across some scenes (Spectres)
- The black mirror with silver frame on top of the stairs and also other mirrors throughout the video (Mirrors).
- What it seems to be a hooded figure (The Reaper?) perched on the top of the center part of the roof.
- Eric’s signature aviator sunglasses by the projector (and the guitar with the BOC logo, of course)
- Richie’s avatar playing the guitar on the little couch in front of the b/w clip of Buck’s solo.
- The clock on the wall above the bed (The clock strikes twelve….. - Astronomy, Secret Treaties).
- The woman showing her tattoos and then turning into a vampire (Tattoo Vampire - AOF)
- AOF album references:
o The four tarot cards on the table, even though three of the tarots in the video do not seem to match those on the album cover (only the Sun seems to match)
o The bartender/magician.
o The Reaper and his sickle seated to the left of the bar (DFTR)
- The Four Wind Bar sign above the magician (Astronomy - Secret Treaties).
- The full moon is shown on the back of the Some Enchanted Evenings cover (but w/O the BOC logo).
I’m sure I missed several more Easter Eggs, so any addition is welcome as well as corrections if I got something wrong. One thing that puzzles me is if there’s any reference to the car’s license plate (47 - 3785) I missed.
Outstanding job, Richie Castellano!!
Thanks !! Very helpful
Just expanding one of your points, and credit to one of the other commenters for pointing this out. Richie playing guitar on the couch is probably a reference to this video:

I did NOT like this album very much the first time I heard it. But after giving it several chances, I now adore it. Got the LP (vinyl) for my birthday, still need to pick up the CD. It's so funny how it usually takes a few listens for the songs to click. Symbol Remains was the same way.
Had to learn it completely on guitar Arrangement is tricky at first What a great song and video
Not bad, glad they are still rocking
Decent song, and then some 🎉
Secret Treaties Rules!!!
Awesome song and video🤘
Awesome song from a Awesome band
Wow what a great track, that's Joe Bouchard singing isn't it; if I'm not mistaken, probably meant for Fire of Unknown Origin, sounds like his tune Vengeance( The Pact) that opened side 2..
Love the Easter eggs!
About time, been to long, play on
God I've missed you
Sounds straight from Specters ive been waiting since 2020 for some new(technically) material from the the Oyster Boys. Roll onnnnn April.

Blue Oyster Cult is so awesome thanks for sll the amazing music been a fan since 2017 and this is so cool
I've been since the 70's...2017, that's great. Glad you discovered them. Their music is a journey you'll never regret taking once you, if you haven't already discovered. It's more than music.

🌠Good Video & Song Guys...
Where did you dig these all these old recordings from ??? Did you move house Buck ?
Or, even better, the 'last' album should never be made at all. I hope they are still putting out albums for my great-great grandchildren to listen to.
I felt like like the Leonardo DiCaprio pointing meme this whole video
😊❤🙌🎸
This song give me peace. I don,t know why. But I relax me so much with this song. I would like to live in a haunted mansion away from the shit that is the current world
I can relate to what you just said.
I wanted to know how some CGI companies manage to make money, because they live in the PS1 era. Also, the music is just OK, nothing special. But, it's good to see the guys active. Keep it up!

There will be two more live albums this year, both from the 50th anniversary shows in New York City, Sept 2022. We've already had the first one (Night 1 - first album), Night 2 (Tyranny and Mutation) and Night 3 (Secret Treaties) should both appear both the end of the year.

@@JoeBouchardRockStar Thank you for the music Joe, I'm really digging the song!
I've always loved Blue Oyster Cult, and enjoy every album they put out to various degrees, but I have to say, this song is really something special. I know it's made from an older recording, and maybe that's why it seems to have a slightly out of time feel to it, but that really works in it's favor. It's almost like it came from an alternate universe version of B.O.C. where there were no falling outs between band members, and everybody is still working together with a common goal. The song is eerie, mysterious, and catchy with just enough Heavy Metal to give it some guts while retaining the melodic hooks of a great pop rock song. In other words, it's perfect. I look forward to getting my hands on this album when it drops.
Perfectly said.
My late friend, the biggest fan I ever met would agree with you both-I certainly do.
Well said - been a BOC fan from the beginning, to a dozen live shows and this is spooky good 😎
Been to 13 live
Tension makes for great emotions
BOC are the BEST!!! Bought their first LP when they were unknowns. I am now 66 and looking forward to the new ALbum.
I've waited nearly 40 years for the Bouchard Brothers to make music with this band, which is an absolute travesty. While I'm absolutely euphoric to hear this it's bittersweet because I think of all those decades of great music they could have made together.
