There are actually some not-frequently-taught techniques that are similar to the ones shown in the triangle vid about drawing shapes using a ruler and compass that in modern times would look off without the foundational mathematical knowledge. In addition: “Squaring” numbers literally meant using squares to calculate the squares of numbers and solving quadratic equations involved completing the square by similar means. What kind of line of thought leads you to that? Do they just ... Sit down and do random things until they discovered it? It is amazing.
Yeah, literally just define concepts and build upon them. First you start with a unit circle with its center on the origin of X and Y axes, insert a radius with a length of one in the center such that it touches the edge. The horizontal distance of the end of radius from the Y axis is the cosine, and the vertical distance the end of the radius is from the X axis is the sine, and with the radius as the hypotenuse you get a right triangle. You can figure out things like the length of chords being directly proportional to the radius and their length is like 2cos(angle)*radius or 2sin(angle)*radius if you draw a line from the center to the chord’s endpoint, depending on which orientation you positioned it (assuming completely vertical or completely horizontal). And the distance the center of the chord is from the edge of the circle is like (1 - sin or cosin (angle)) * radius
The usage of bits of the original MV is very tastefully done. A lot of people making this specific video would've probably overused them just for the hell of it, but throwing them in sparsely and only towards the end adds to the effect of the video's 'build-up' and lets the featured material have plenty of time to shine on its own.

@@choog2752 It's from a teacher aid video from the 60's and 70's. The actual video makes good use of meshing vector graphics and photos together with a voice over. It's amazing that the best schools can do nowadays is print out the explanation on black and white copy paper when these exist from the 70's.
i know it's just a triangle video but for some reason it feels so ominous paired with the music. like the center of a triangle is forbidden knowledge and we're still searching to find it, and the search is slowly tearing humanity apart.
Thanks to this video, I have discovered the absolutely BANGING tracks made by inabakumori. Thanks!
I strongly recommend the artist because every track is a banger
I don't understand why this fits better than the original music video but I love it.
無機質的な魅力 っていうのを
多分狙って作ってる例の中でも、
手法的に見て唯一無二だと思う。
2:49 ここスゴイ好き。
I don't know why,
I just can't help but watch this everyday
why is this actually entertaining to watch
Can we just all agree this video felt really satisfying to watch?
Man the visuals are super original, i wonder why people don't do this kind of visuals.
it makes it more fun to watch than original animation for some reason
as an enthusiast of triangles, you have all of my respect
音楽を聞きながら勉強が出来る良心的な動画!
WHY IS THIS ACTUALLY A VIBE. LIKE, THE SONG IS GOOD BEFORE... BUT THE TRIANGLES?!?!?! OMG LOL
What a great journey to the center of the triangle with best music with it
This goes hard as an MV for no reason
I know this is meant to be a shitpost but the vibes that this video gives off are fucking *immaculate* (also the editing)
the fact that this has so little views is a federal crime
this is criminally underrated, so funny

The part at 3:00 was incredible, I can’t stop rewatching it
My favorite is 2:53
Well yeah, of course it's awesome! Defining a circle using triangles, tiling space using triangles, and demonstrating the tesselating pattern of a particular fractal, _all simultaneously!_
Well, Lagtrain was already nostalgic for me, sounding like something I heard in my childhood, but combining with old style animations is basically the combo-nostalgia - I dod not feel such comfortable for years. Thank you, bro
This looks, sounds and feels like an opening to some philosophical anime that has a banger soundtrack
Looks a lot more complex than the actual concept. I learned this in high school geometry a few weeks ago.
True, but it’s probably cuz this is teaching things from a foundational and very mathematical point of view, rather than a simplified understanding for high schoolers to pass their tests on.
@@AlexisAlexander646 People tried to understand it from the most fundamental level for thousands of years.
@@fatitankeris6327 Exactly. My point is just that the way mathematicians might explain these concepts in some very detailed form is not exactly the same as a high school teacher teaching teenage students a definition and a few problems on a test just for them to forget one week later. I just find this video to be pretty impressive in showing how these "basic" concepts can actually be very complex in the world of geometry and math.
I was oblivious to the Lagtrain haze and my first contact with Inabakumori’s art was this and till I read the comments I though this was some obscure lost Japanese media from the 80’s or something
Me during math test
My heart: **BEATS AGGRESSIVELY**
My hand: Is it a, b, c, or d?
My eyes: idk, brain what's the right answer?
My brain:
me in math class: this song and my mind
I found this video today. It has immediately become probably my favourite video on this site, lagtrain already was one of my favourite songs but seeing it mixed with trigonometry and the way the video times everything perfectly with the beat of the song is actually amazing.
this video is what it looks like inside my brain except probably not as elegant
