That’s exactly how it works. You can run this dash by itself without the 3.5” hand held, or you can buy a Y splitter and run them both at the same time like I have in this video.
How hard was it connecting it to the holley system? I just purchased a C3 that is LS swapped with a holley terminator X, looking for something to use for a speedo. And do you need to buy anything extra from holley to get it connected in?
I think the only way you could make the Tinker dash send info to the Holley, would be to use the Holley inputs and then have the tinker dash send the signal from one of the switched outputs (digital toggle switches) that it has to the Holley inputs.
I just received this dash in the mail. Have you been able to change what the gauges represent on each screen? Like have flex fuel display instead of coolant temp? If you know what I mean.
Hmm, I actually don’t know. You could message Tinker on Facebook. They are very responsive. Personally I’m not trying to watch videos on it or anything, so the resolution is plenty sharp for what I’m using it for. If I had to guess I’d say 1080 or better.
@@satanz3111 thank you very much. im looking at them but looks like only a 5 will fit so im trying to see what they look like on different dashes. thank you again
They send you a little strip of extra pins. Don’t lose them! You then put one of those pins into the harness connector in the appropriate spot. Mine is a resistive fuel sending unit. So I had to look up the ohm value it sends at empty and the value it sends at full, then input that data into the dash. Then it reads full at 100% and empty at 0%.
You mean the antenna? I just purchased one from tinker for like $20 or something. He said any gps antenna with that little mini coaxial connector would work. But he’s super helpful and responsive, so I just give him my money instead.
Well I’m not super educated on the terminator yet. Can you datalog on the laptop? The only way I’ve learned how to data log is on the actual handheld. Then pull the sd card and load the datalog into your laptop. If you can datalog right onto the laptop, that’s a better option I’d think. Plus, I’m 99% sure you can do what you’re asking, cause I’m pretty sure you can run the terminator without the handheld, as that’s how they sell some of their kits, is without it.
So I just tried it and you can run just the Tinker dash by itself without the Holley hand held being hooked up. However, then I think you would have to log with the lap top hooked up instead of logging to the SD card in the hand held.
Well I personally don’t have any sort of transmission speed sensor. So I couldn’t tell you. This is why the gos speedo was a big hit for me. My gearing or tire size doesn’t matter.
Looks pretty slick, and they're local to me! Wish I had ordered sooner though cause they're short on supplies now of course 😪
Yeah, word spread quickly about the Tinker dashes and he got slammed pretty quickly.
Sweet. Made me order one for our project. It will arrive soon. So curious.
Awesome review
That thing is awesome
Looks like a great solution! How does it interface with the holley? Does it split off from the Terminator handheld/usb connection?

@@satanz3111 Nice! I'd say that's a win then. Not that I don't want to support a company like Holley, but it does beat paying that Holley tax lol.
@@BadKarmaFab Eh… Holley is a big box company. And their digital dashes are WAY over priced.
how do you add fuel level?

Very easy. Literally just use a CAN y splitter and it plugs right in and that’s the only electrical connection you make.
Can it send the inputs wired to it to the holley and visa versa with the outputs? Thanks for the video

So far the only thing I have changed is I’ve added a fuel gauge. I haven’t changed anything from the way the dash comes, other than that.
Any idea what the screen resolution is? Wondering how the resolution compares to the Holley 7" screen

they offer a 5", 7", and 10" screen. which one do you have in the video? thank you very much
I have the 7” dash

@@satanz3111 thanks, last ? what y splitter did you order. About to order the 10" since i watch this video. Very helpful video
@@cliffbush10 I just searched on eBay. “Holley y splitter” I most likely bought a cheap one cause I’m a cheap ass. Lol
Me too lol, thanks
Is there and odometer function
Unfortunately not. That would actually be really cool.
@@satanz3111 be great for someone that using it to replace all gauges in there street car or like a vechile that likes to autocross

is it possible to disconnect the handheld from the splitter and not the tinker dash? so a guy could tune a d data log?

Was the speedo working with the 3.5 Holley? My 4L60E sends a speed signal that the Holley displays so not a huge deal if it won’t without the GPS.
