I've been to the stadium course, I can imagine it's in between clubs for him and most others. Tiger used a soft 9 most of the time I believe. The power draw players like Sergio and Fred couples, had a rough time with this hole throughout their careers.
@@joshuanorris5092 youd think after so many years hed be able to adjust. but its 90% in his head and thats a hard place to adjust when you step up this hole
Everyone of his shots are to short , the caddy needs to give him his 9 iron and accidentally break his pitching wedge after the 16th green every round….. lol 😆
Always short. I will never understand why players don't respect this hole... just go for the middle of the green, and back yourself to two-putt for par with a chance of a birdie.
It’s such a simple shot on paper. Hit a pitching wedge at the middle of a green. So incredibly simple. When you add in a crowd, and try to attack the pin, it becomes much harder.
Does he not tee up the ball? Hmmm I feel this must be the problem on why he was always short or if not he's using the wrong club. Getting on the green at all cost is life on this hole.
I don't like Sergio because of his long history of losing his temper during the tour when things aren't going well, don't get me wrong. However, I dislike Patrick Reed miles more because he has a penchant for blatantly cheating.
Don't particularly like Sergio, but that's because you're dehumanizing him. You're looking at him as a multimillionaire and that's it. Rather than looking at him as a competitor. Having millions of dollars doesn't make a competitor stop caring. So as a competitor, yeah I feel for him. I've always hated the way tournament courses are manicured to punish good shots. It's golf not russian roulette.
@yepdontcarebud don't agree with your last point. It's not a "good shot" in a scenario like this. Sometimes the best shot is a safer shot, or using a different avenue. Hitting it straight at the flag doesn't magically make it a good shot. In this situation, you're being punished for not making a smart decision. An example is that first shot. It was a high risk/high reward shot. He hit a "good shot", but id argue it's not a good shot. He knew it could roll off the green. Took too aggressive of a line and too much spin. No one is getting "punished" for good shots here.
There's no way I could ever hit a ball with enough backspin to rip it off the green. You see this each year at the Players. The pros just hit it so pure. Me, not so much! 😂
Of all the guys, he kinda deserves it. He disrespects golf a lot..check out his meltdowns. When he attacked the bunker comes to mind. Miss hits his shot and let’s the bunker have it. Again and again and again lol
As an avid golfer for 2 decades, I will admit Garcia is one of my least favorite golfers because he can't control his temper. If there's one guy I dislike more, it's definitely Patrick Reed because he finds ways to cheat.
Not sure why most players just don't take yardage to middle of green and hit it there? I get it if you have to make birdie to win on Sunday BUT the previous rounds you do not.
This hole is, imho, unfair. It's already a small green, but then it's built up so that balls that land on roll off. Telling players that there is only one safe area of the green to land the ball is plainly infair.
Put every player on a lie detector and ask them if they’ve ever illegally improved a lie, taken an improper drop, or illegally placed their ball on the green. I bet 98% fail the test.
@@HughJorgan1 and that makes it ok for Patrick Reed to habitually cheat? I’ve never seen a pro do what he does so often and I’ve been watching golf for 20 plus years. Golf is supposed to be about integrity. Too many people could care less and won’t think twice to cheat to win. Shameful
@@jbanders2358 ..Lol, you say he “habitually cheats” based on one incident? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t agree with what he did. I also recall a tourney just a couple years ago where Rory cheated by claiming he had a plugged lie in deep rough. The replay clearly showed the ball bouncing once. The commentators just let it go…because it was Rory.
As an avid golfer for over 20 years, I will admit both Sergio Garcia and Patrick Reed are some of my least favorite golfers out on the tour because Garcia can't control his temper when things aren't going well and Reed is a total cheat.
