Tedward is my kind of car reviewer. All (or most of) the cars he drives are among my long-time favorites, and he has exactly the right attitude toward them, IMHO.
That nice “connection to the powertrain” is what MTs gave us. You had to be in tune with the engine and the road to drive a MT properly. It is what kept most of us engaged, which is not only fun, but it’s a safety issue! This Panamera is a wonderful vehicle, but that is largely because it has a lot of power (also a fine vehicle in general of course). I would be OK with an automatic, only if it has a powerful motor! Power makes up for a lot! I also hate the new big-grill BMWs (and I do drive a BMW, from the opposite end of the price range), which are, IMHO, UGLY.
Porsche really have perfected the art of making cars. The interior for example is just so well laid out, unlike the other luxury sedans in this class that have just gone mad with large screens in the name of innovation. Also, thanks for putting out another great video as always!
I see the Panamera as a modern 928 S4. A big V8 up-front in a simple, smooth executive body sending power to all four wheels to create the ultimate Porsche grand touring car. This one just happens to come with two more doors
There's a rumor that they might be considering a Panamera Coupe. Panamera underpinnings, hatchback, and Two (count 'em) 2 doors! Keeping my fingers crossed....
One of my favorite cars. Definitely an aspirational purchase. As much as I am conscious of the environment, I'd love to be able to purchase one of these before they're gone
I don't think these type of cars doing any crazy mileages and also they're not sold in high figures. Considering this they don't have such a big impact comparing to the main pollutants of our planet. But I understand that it's kind of lavish purchase, not guided by common sense.
It is worth saying that one of these, as with any car, is gonna be completely negligible in regard to its impact on the environment. You just cannot do enough with a car to make it worth as much as a cargo ship or a coal mine or a plane (in particular, the egregious private jets). It's a pretty guilt-free thing that has been made "your problem" because of companies pushing that with the carbon footprint idea, so they can make sure you get all of the responsibility and guilt while they can continue being the actual problem despite being in positions to fix it.
@@ElliWoelfin Exactly, and when you consider the mining operations that have to take place to gather some of the materials used in hybrid and electric batteries you could probably make the case that certain electric/hybrid cars do create more net pollution than gas cars. Sure, a fully electric car has no direct emissions but that's only half the story - you have to consider what goes into making the car, as well as the energy sources for the electricity used to charge it.
You’ll be helping the environment a lot more than buying an EV. EV’s cause way more environmental damage when you factor in sourcing the raw materials (such as the slave labor lithium and nickel mines) for the batteries and the increased power grid usage (most electricity comes from fossil fuels being burned).
I bought a 2018 Panamera Turbo sport turismo (you did a video on one) and I love it. Best daily driver for someone with a small family. I get more attention then I thought I would driving it lol
As a lifetime BMW customer I went into the dealership to spec out the F90 LCI M5. My dealership had the M5 Comp and an M550i on the floor, so I decided to give them both a spin. After stepping into the M550i I realized quickly that optioned with 19's the M550i is the right vehicle for me. I drive 12,000 miles a year in NYC. I could not for the life of me justify the M5. After watching your Panamera GTS review, I might consider giving it a whirl once my Lease is up next year. In the mean time I am in LOVE with my 530hp and 553lb/ft Bavarian powerhouse. Great review btw!
One of the greatest vehicles you can buy. Our 2012 is still rock solid and tight, compared to our 2013 Mercedes SUV that was built out of squeaky plastic and baby rattles.
Finally my beloved GTS on your channel. Have it as Cayenne, but also test drove the Panamera GTS as well, because they didn’t have the GTS Cayenne at my dealership and I wanted to check if that engine won’t be too aggressive for daily driving and it definitely wasn’t - it was perfect. The experience of driving those are very similar actually - both have grip limits way above my limits of courage and skills 😂 Would love to see the Cayenne GTS review from you as well, I’m really interested in your opinion.
I've lived in Arlington, and out in Ayer, and worked in Waltham. I'm very familiar with those roads - Rte. 2, of course, but also those little side roads into Weston/Lincoln/etc. Thanks for this vid, great car and unique context.
6:31 rockets away! :p In seriousness, Panamera's are underrated and that contrast stitching really pops compared to how the configurators always appear. Cheers!
Ive never understood why youtubers trash talk the 970. Yet they sold well and if you weren’t a youtuber, you loved its looks. Couldn’t it be, that the vast majority of folks buying the 970 thought, and still think, the 970 was gorgeous? It would be refreshing for anyone making a video about the 970, or 971, to come out and praise the 970 for the beauty it was.
I'm a fan of the Panamera too. A 4S is a nice place to be. The GTS is great, but sometimes less is more. I wish you could do three pedals, but I'm happy with fast wagons in general. We need more fast wagons.
"Not my problems...but hey I'm allowed to say it..." "The Rumble will do us good..." and "Beat up by underfunded roads..." Awesome... 😆👍🏾and as always another great review
After watching this video I’m actually going to Porsche West Broward to check out a Panamera GTS right now. Never really considered a Panamera but I’ve been looking to replace my DBX/M5 so I’ll see what I think of it in person. Definitely gonna order a Turbo S while there because none of the local Porsche dealers have a Turbo S in stock right now.
Why did you buy/lease a DBX in the 1st place? 🤔🤔🤔 😉 Such a worthless vehicle in all due respects. Might as well check out a Urus as it is not afraid to let you know what it is. And will do every thing you want want or to. I know this is a fake account, but it is fun to see what ppl say.....
Love the new videos but I definitely missing watching things like the Miata road-trip when ur came out. I think some videos of your life would be appreciated by your viewers
Hoping to replace my aging BMW M6 Gran Coupe with this exact spec'd GTS a few years down the line. AWD plus the liftback is going to make this an incredible daily commuter.
My dad also remembered reading about some highway in Italy that has no speed limit, but its a complete myth, i dont know how it spread to the whole world, but only in Germany you have this and in some parts of Australia. Porsche is surely the best sportscars manufacturer.
Reminds me of the e90, e92 interior of BMW. They were on to something back then.

I can't get over how well the pdk handles those 1st to 2nd to 3rd shifts, just beautiful
