I loved this podcast. I have been working hard to make progress in my English, I think, that I am in intermediate level. It was really interesting to me you saying that we have to avoid translation and almost I always do that. Something that I am doing is reading and watching tv and RUclips and try to write, but sometimes is hard to memorize some long words.
When I started learning English, I made a mistake, because I focused only on grammar and I avoided learning the right pronunciation, now I am working to correct it. Of course, I have some help because my husband helps a lot.
It’s been a long journey for me learning English on my own, and I see a little progress each day, but I have had to push myself out of my comfort zone, especially because I have to work.
    Thank you for sharing guys.

That's normal I guess. I sometimes can't hear the word properly as well. I guess we just need to embrace it. And it's good to remember that the same can happen in our native tongue. There are so many factors. It's very hard to catch 100% of what is said. That's why our brain puts all pieces together, like a puzzle, and we often rely on context and the surrounding words. That's where learning collocations comes to play. The brain will just search for the "right" combination.
