    Nice review. Thank you.
    I bought a 6000A Play a year ago and enjoy it every day. I don't have such good speakers like those Elac's and still it amaze me. Now I am thinking to upgrade my speakers. Now I have Q Acoustics 3020.

      I use it with a pair of " revel m126 be speakers ". It's as good as all my other amplifiers. Some cost six times the price.

    glad you discovered Collier , best all round musician for my taste 😉. Good review by the way, enjoyed very much. Happy listening 🤩

    Glad you like it. I think something like a Hegel or Primare is needed to better it in a meaningful way. Not perfect but its a small taste of High End at entry cost. - Build too is first rate. Those rotary encoders really are well made. Not a given at the price. - ZeroFidelity has just released his review too and pretty much came to the same conclusion. - Probably not an amplifier for anyone coming from a characterful entry level amplifier but once you've been in Hifi for a while you know how difficult it is to engineer something as neutral as this without making it sound boring ... at any cost. Bryston is one example.
    I think the SA20 is different enough though to justify hanging on to it too if you can.

    Perfect, I just bought an Audiolab 6000a 😍. Purchased a refurbished model at a good discount. Not sure about a streamer yet. Will review the options available. Happy listening 🎶

      Since you can use the hard to beat built in DAC you can go with something like the Airlino Plus by Lintech or the Wiim Mini

      I have been using a Chromecast Audio for years. Amazing little thing. It's even a Roon endpoint. Fantastic unless you need more than 96/24 or gapless, neither of which are important to me.

      I am planning to buy the Q Acustics 3030i speakers to pair with my Audiolab 6000A and hope that combination will give a near similar experience that you had with the Elac speakers where the speakers disappear and all instruments float arround. I don't have budget to get the Elac. What is your opinion on this ?

    • @DigitalPhilosophers
      @DigitalPhilosophers  2 года назад

      @@VinodKumar-gx7wj I wouldn’t wonder if your Q Acoustics disappear even more. I listened to the Concept 20 with an mediocre amp and they disappeared completely. That speaker/room relationship had the best holographic center image I have heard to date.

    Which amplifier do you like more Audiolab 6000 or Arcam solo music?

    • @DigitalPhilosophers
      @DigitalPhilosophers  2 года назад +1

      That is a VERY tough question 🤯
      Totally different sound signatures. The 6000A Play sounds more neutral/linear throughout the frequency range. The Solo Music has a slight emphasis on the lower mids and upper bass which makes it sound a bit fuller with male vocals or deeper female voices and some instruments. On the other hand the 6000 is faster/snappier with instruments and bass. Listening to a CD inside the Solo Music is highend sound at its finest in my opinion (given the right speaker, CD and room). So I would love to compare it to the Audiolab Omnia and its CD sound. Overall I would highly recommend anyone who is pending between both amps or brands should listen with their own speakers since both sound signatures are so different

    Great video . I have the same problem you had with my speakers, the amps that I had make them sound to bright or sharp sometimes.
    I had a Hegel h 95 , and a Primare prisma 115 .
    I think I will give the Audiolab a chance.
    I have a question about the streamer in the Audiolab
    Is the streamer/ Dac gap less ?
    Thanks

    Hi , I am a little confused now 😂 😂 about which one is better between the Arcam SA 20 or the AUDIOLAB 6000 ... ( Soundstage is what I am looking for) thanks

    • @DigitalPhilosophers

      In my opinion (using the Vela in our living room) they are toe to toe with a slightly advantage for the audiolab when it comes to soundstaging. The rest really is about taste. The SA20 is warmer and has a little bit more brilliant treble, the 6000A Play more neutral and faster

      Both or neither nor.
      Amazingly detailed highs.
      Clean n natural midrange.
      Full n textured bass.
      In terms of instrument separation it is my fave amp for my Elac Vela so far. The DAC implementation is of the charts

    Habe den audiolab 6000 play seit ca. einem Jahr an den Quad S2 in Kombination mit einem kleinen Dali Sub (downfiring). Eine Traumkombination, zumindest für meinen Raum. Der Omnia soll bis auf den CD Player klanglich fast gleich sein. Hab mir deshalb für meine Standboxen den Quad artera solus Play besorgt mit mehr Leistung 2x75 Watt und CD Player. Hat das gleiche DAC wie der audiolab, die Höhen sind aber etwas feiner aufgelöst und er hat etwas mehr Punch im Bass. Evtl. eine bessere Alternative zum Omnia. BTW schade, dass du die Pioneer Boxen nicht mehr hast, fand die wesentlich besser als die Elac, ist aber Geschmackssache :)

    Hi, danke für das informative Video. Auf Deinen und auch anderen Aufnahmen ist zu erkennen, dass das Schwarz auf dem Gehäuse eher matt und verblasst wirkt, wohingegen die Regler wesentlich schwärzer sind. Kannst Du das bestätigen? Die offiziellen Fotos zeigen allerdings gar keinen Unterschied..
