- One of the best waterfall hikes in Georgia, in our opinion, is High Shoals and Blue Hole Falls. You get two beautiful waterfalls on this one trail and one of the waterfalls you can swim in. These waterfalls are amazing to see in any season. The trail is moderate. When people are just getting into hiking and want some suggestions on which trails to start with first, High Shoals Falls Trail is always at the top of our list. There are quite a few roots and rocks but it's not too difficult. High Shoals Falls Trail is a 2.6 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Hiawassee and Helen, Georgia.

Rosalie heard the waterfall and ran over to check it out. She loves waterfalls. You guys might be the only channel I watch that doesn't use music - and it works. The nature sounds is the only true music you need in these type of hikes.

I remember going there like 6 years ago and getting in the swimming hole. It was August so for some reason I didn’t expect the water to be cold but that was the coldest water I’ve ever felt
Mountain water is always cold! Lol I've got inside of a waterfall in January and it felt like needles lol

I think that was our fifth time going there definitely one of our favorite waterfalls in Georgia that we've seen so far. If you go just make sure it didn't rain the night before and you should be good! Thanks for watching!

Didn't realize you guys had a car!!! I figured you guys just walked, hiked, and wondered the land like Kane from Kung Fu. I don't think my wife's Prius will make it up there. Good thing they made a new bridge, that will help. Haven't gone to a primitive campsite since I was in Boy Scouts.
We drive sometimes 🤣 if the river is down really low you might make it. Maybe it's time you give it a shot again you might like it!

Found this trail by accident while just driving by. You probably won’t believe it but I drove up my 2017 Honda Accord Sport up the road. It was scary and at times I thought I wasn’t going to make it; by my Honda made it. I was so excited. We hiked and went swimming at the water fall hole. It was amazing. The hike back was a high moderate terrain after a rainy day; a bit intense. Give yourself amble time to get out of be able to drive back down to the main road before dark.
Well that's a nice accident! I remember driving by the sign several times and eventually researched it.
The first time we did it in a Nissan versa and the river was kind of high that day we thought we were going to get flooded lol
We had to walk the length of the road the second time we went.

Just love waterfalls! Yesterday we went to 7 along the Columbia Gorge in northern Oregon. We'll do a video on it, but not for a couple months.
Would love to visit Oregon and do some hikes there!

I had to laugh at the "little river" you had to ford in your car. That's actually the Hiawassee River. The same that runs through North Carolina and Tennessee.
There are three other mountain roads that you can take to get to the trailhead on Indian Grave Gap Road. The one that always seems to be passable is Corbin Creek Road. It's longer, but not as steep. Use a map; you can easily take a wrong turn

I crossed the river in an old camrey.
Definitely got to go when the water's down. We've been there before and the river was flowing really good I don't think a little small car would have made it.
That river is beautiful, but the water is EXTREMELY cold lol Nobody was swimming when I visited in summer.
The water always feels like that up there in the mountains it's not that bad 🤣 I just got to jump in and get over the initial shock and then it's pretty nice 😁
So i saw the name blue hole falls and thought cool yall are local since theres a blue hole in sc. Different hike but this one is a lot nicer

I am planning to visit this today : ) I also have a Nissan Rogue All Wheel Drive so I think the river shouldn’t be an issue.

@@cameronferguson8131 The trail is very easily identifiable very well marked. It's not too difficult either. Around 3 mi total out and back.

Eventually when the river was down we crossed it in the Versa but we got a new car a few years later. Nope just using my long-range lens and then adding a digital zoom in to the shot inside Premiere Pro. Thank you we appreciate it 🙂
Once upon a time, I remember reading another way to enter high shoals falls trails without having to cross the small creek. Now by your video, It did not look too bad to cross and looked doable. How bad were the pot holes and how many?
I'm not sure of the other way. It's doable in a small car if it hasn't been raining a lot. The potholes you can navigate around.
Do you know how far is the primitive camp sites from the falls ?
The trail itself isn't long at all. I've seen some people camping a little bit past the base of the waterfall I'm not sure if that's allowed but there's definitely a firing there.
But the other campsites are spread out all along the trail just depends on if you get there soon enough
So both falls are on same trail?
Yep! First you'll see the blue hole and then after that you'll see High shoals Falls 😊

Drive a luxury car and dont think it could make it through water and trails. Would take our Toyota tundra but gas so dang high to drive a v8 from Fayette county😢
Don't let that stop you can park at the beginning of the road and then just walk the rest of the dirt road just plan for an extra miles added on to the trail we have done it that way before it's not too bad.
