I have a feeling you will grow to love this song as you hear it more. The first time I heard it, it was stuck in my head. One reason many people have recommended Deja Vu is not just because they like the song/video, but also because Changbin has said it is one of his favorite Ateez tracks. The rapper with the husky voice is Mingi. You are seeing songs out of order, so it is bound to be a bit confusing story-wise. They always make amazing story videos for each album release that is like a mini movie as well as behind the scenes videos, both of which might help you get a better idea of the story. Some videos I think you will like from them are Pirate King. Fireworks, Thankxx, Answer, The Real, Rocky, Say my Name, as well as songs like The Leaders and Cyberpunk.

if you ended up finishing kingdom then I highly recommend watching The Real mv because:
1. it features mingi who wasn't on kingdom
2. it's slightly different to the kingdom version
3. mv is firee (watch until the very end)
I think it's important to note that Ateez is incredibly diverse music wise so you're not going to always get the same hype song from them every time. Variety is their forte. They love to mix it up and they keep a lot of people off balance because you never know what any of their music is going to sound like. They are highly experimental and will do things outside of the box for a kpop group. But they are never predictable on any level which I think is part of their appeal to many fans.
I think if you prefer hype songs they have those (Say My Name, Hala Hala, Cyberpunk, The Ring, New World, Rocky, Fireworks). But they also do everything from ballads to R&B to country (yes, I'm not kidding - LOL!) They are the musical chameleons of kpop!
Anyway, I like your honesty about what you like and don't like but just wanted to level set expectations when it comes Ateez and their music.

People are not taking your personal tastes into account with a lot of the recommendations and I find it silly lol I'd recommend the songs, The Leaders, Win and To The Beat.
Also, if you'd like to give Seventeen another shot, I'd really recommend Trauma. It's an older hip-hop unit track. Slower heavy beat. Seventeen is one of my favorite groups, but I can see you not totally vibing with all of their discography. I think you'd appreciate this song tho.
Yes my thoughts too!! Everyone has diff tastes and I keep seeing people rec songs for reactors that I know they might not like based on their preferences and I really wish they would take it into account 😭

Also, they have an in house production team called eden-ary. They're a pretty popular production team who has worked with a lot of artists but their main artist is Ateez as Ateez was specifically created to be a fullly produced group so they can incorporate lore from the start, and most of their songs are actually created years in advance (fun fact though, ateez were first known as KQFellaz (not kqfellaz2) and were supposed to be and trained as a dance crew which is why they are killer dancers, and you can look up their dance covers that went viral such as "pick it up") Hongjoong is not technically a part of Eden ary per say, but he is usually credited as he's produced and written a bunch of Ateez songs himself too, and he intimately works with the produce team In pretty much every Ateez aspect, and also songwrites so I think him being a part of it so much gives him and the produce team more freedom to include his adlibs more. Him and Mingi are credited as 4th gen idols with the most credits under their names right after 3racha :)
i think a lot suggested this song because it is a fav for so many atinys but i kinda knew it is not ur style i hope u will do the real or thanxxx or rocky next (btw rocky is the first title track produced by hongjoong) also i think u have to check out hongjoong cover of linkin park numb it is sooo amazing u will fall in love "totally his thing"
ateez is one of the strongest 4th gen groups really i love deja vu it's my top 1 song + i hope you react to their song "win" you will love it for sure

Just keep being honest. I have no time for reactors that love everything they listen to just so as not to offend the fans. Most Atiny appreciate that people are going to like some songs more than others because they have such a diverse range of genres in their music.

JONGHO STAN HERE!! yeah, btw, his name is pronounced like you said in previous video, j is like normal j. it might be interesting, there's a member in ateez and his name is Yunho (dark-red hair in this video), so yeah, it makes a confusion.
my suggestion, if you like halazia or just rap-stuff (as i know you lol): The Leaders, Cyberpunk, New World and maybe Black Cat Nero as cover and smth different ;) (first three are only color coded, but cyberpunk and black cat nero have the performances)

You have to appreciate their versatility. They make ballads too, but find the way to make an Ateez ballad
9:01 That's Turbulence, one of my favorite ATEEZ songs. (even tho I haven't heard most of their discography yet, but still) I honestly don't know if it's your cup of tea or not but the emotions the lyrics and the whole song gives me are indescribable.
I think you'd enjoy The Leaders, To the Beat, and Good Lil Boy - there's no music video, but they performed that combo during KCON Saudi Arabia (i dont think this would get blocked on YT because Saudi Arabia paid for the entire thing to be public when it aired originally last year.
ALSO, the song at the end of Deja Vu is Turbulence, which is vocaaal city!! The music video is really nice and so are their live performances! Please consider checking any or all of those out!

there are definitely ateez songs i like better than others, but i'm really thankful that even if it didn't hit with you as much as Halazia did, you still did a really thoughtful breakdown of it. Some of ateez' songs i feel aren't made "for" my taste but i still love to listen to them because it's them. If you want more stuff like Halazia that just Goes Hard or kind of lean harder-edged I recommend Hala Hala (kind of the precursor to Halazia, where the word Halazia comes from) Guerilla, Thanxx, The Real, Cyberpunk, New World, Fireworks, Win, Precious, Say My Name, Wonderland, Rocky, The King, Paradigm, and The Leaders. The ones that don't have MV's to them are Cyberpunk, New World, Win, Precious, The King, and The Leaders, although those all have live stages. I wouldn't say they're exactly like halazia because none of ateez' songs really follow a formula, they're always changing things up, but those songs get me PUMPED.
Hongjoong also did a cover of Linkin Park's "Numb" that is SOOOOO good.
One of the things i really appreciate about Ateez are how much they experiment with style, and they have really opened up a new appreciation of all kinds of music for me. I'm addicted to crazy vocals and orchestral stuff, kind of the opposite to what you gravitate to, so their rendition of Answer (Ode To Joy) [ feat. La Poem] from their Zero: Fever Epilogue album is one of my favorites. Some of my top other songs are Take Me Home, Promise, Turbulence, and Horizon as well as some of the ones I listed above if you're curious about what other kind of stuff they can do outside of the kind of genre that Halazia is in. I don't know if any of that info is useful but I thought i'd put in my two cents because i'm always excited when somebody loves my boys no matter what kind of music taste they have. Happy listening!

My problem is the opposite of yours: Deja Vu was the first Ateez song that really hooked me and then I was sad they didn't have more tracks like it. That being said, I liked The Real a lot and Guerilla and Halazia are also among my faves now.
Ah, since you also mentioned suggesting songs with similar vibe of the songs that are being reacted to, ill do a crime and suggest songs that are more hype from ATEEZ. You MUST listen to The Leaders, Cyberpunk, Win, The Black Cat Nero (it was a Halloween special) and Rocky (Boxer ver.) I think those would be the similar amount of hype 🤙🤙

I think I was surprised when this one dropped as a title track because ateez has this expectation to have such hard hitting title tracks, but I found Deja Vu to be really refreshing. I think it sounds more like a “mainstream” Kpop song (if that makes sense?) but created in a unique ateez way so I love it. And their choreo is just always spot on.
My favorite ateez song is “Win”…it’s a bside but omg the live performance is amazing! Can’t wait for more reactions :)

ATEEZ for me were a super fun and interesting group because of their non-standard ways of chord progression and unexpected melodic changes. Your theory is also right! ATEEZ has said they are deliberately vague about the details of the lore so that ATINY can come up with their own interpretations. It’s one of the rare instances where many differing (or opposing) opinions are all legitimately correct. 😊
We all kept suggesting Deja Vu because we all haven't recovered from this Era still. This song really made a lot of people fall in love with Ateez, me included. They really have a lot of diversity in their songs and all of it is so good. For this album they actually gave atiny a choice of which would be the main track, this one or Eternal Sunshine and this one wound up winning and it did extremely well for them. Eternal Sunshine is also amazing but your enjoyment of that will hinge entirely on if you like tropical house or not.
Hongjoong, the rapper with the higher voice, if you want to hear more of just him he does do some solo covers but they're mostly sung. Though his cover of Linkin Park's "Numb" is absolutely fire.

My ult group is stray kids. Then I jumped into ateez after Kingdom and even tho it’s been like a year and a half I still don’t understand their world😭. I get the pirates & some parts but it really takes a while deep dive bc they truly built this immaculate story that you have to actually read to understand.
I have been atiny for 2 years, still don’t understand the lore completely hehe. But I trust them we’ll get more and more connections with every new comeback

The song that start to show in the end of the music video is "Turbulence", is possible not your tasty but I still recommend it because the vocals in that track are amazing.
Note: the thumb down made by SeongHwa in the last video is a joke with another member WooYoung that was artist of the month in that time and made a dance cover and use that move.

There was there songs don't have drum and bass. But a song that I think has a similar vibe to Halazia is their B-side track from their previous album Cyberpunk. There is no MV, so you have to watch either their Music Bank performance or a concert video. Definitely in my top 5 favorite ATEEZ songs with Halazia.
Now I'm really curious about your reaction to Turbulence which is teased at the end of Deja Vu. Yes, still waiting to see your reaction to Answer and The Real.

And the thing is with Ateez, it's hard to expect what's coming next as they're constantly doing and trying out new things so while a lot of their music goes "harder" they have a ton of different concepts and music, and this was their sexy concept. Teddy, some atinys didnt take your personal tastes into account and also ateez songs are so different that you are not going to find anything similar to guerrilla or halazia but you have to react to pirate king, thanxx, to the beat, win, say my name, desire, the leaders, new world, the king, the ring, answer, the real. You are going to love them.
Ateez has a diverse discography. This song is sultry and focuses so much on their vocals. I am sure you would love The Real, Leaders, Thanxx, b sides of World ep 1. They are yummy
I recommend trying Cyberpunk by Ateez, it's doesn't have an official mv, but it's probably the best B side they ever did and the live performance is really impressive.
Also I think you might like Horizon, it's has a very unique composition.

I appreciate your honesty a lot! We don't all have to love something, but we can still all appreciate their talents
Deja Vu is one of their sexy vibe songs. Say My Name, Answer, Thanxx, Fireworks, Don't Stop, Win, Cyberpunk, The Leaders, To the Beat, Pirate King, Treasure, The Ring, Rocky, New World, Utopia and maybe even the Real, Horizon, Take Me Home and Dazzling Light might be more to your liking. I honestly love the diversity though and the softer stuff like Turbulence, Be With You, Aurora, Star 1117, Not Too Late and Mist are some of my favorites.
If you like Jongho he has an OST out for Reborn Rich called Gravity. And also he was on Lee Mujin's Service show and did a few covers that sounded great!

I have to admit I was surprised you went with Deja Vu next. It's definitely a jam I enjoy but didn't seem like it'd be your jam. I would recommend the queen of all their B sides - Cyberpunk. It's definitely interesting and was my best song from 2022 until Halazia dropped. I assume you'll get to Answer at some point, but Don't Stop, The Ring, and The Real are all bangers with cool production. The song at the end of the Deja Vu video is Turbulence and I'd honestly be super curious to see how you feel about one of their ballads.

Gravel voice guy is Mingi. This song is one that has to grow on you a bit. You should check out their music video for The Real if you have not yet. Also a Live performance of Cyberpunk with English subtitles and either a lyric video or a live performance with subtitles of New World. I also love their music video for Don’t Stop. I feel like that song is a bit underrated.

Before Halazia, The Real was my fave mv so you could check it out, its super epic, and as for b-sides Cyberpunk is the king of all b-sides it really deserves to be a title track..you should check out the whole The World EP 1: Movement album, it's literally movie soundtrack worthy. If you haven't seen it yet Black Cat Nero has a good bit of power, dark rock vibes. Horizon is a great song Hongjoong wrote and produced himself. Just some suggestions 🙂
