Magnus was dressed business casual, very color coordinated, he looked very sharp, respectful, let's say "well anointed'.
F.I.D.E. wants to divide chess, not promote chess. Boycott F.I.D.E.

FIDE’s biggest fear: Magnus in jeans AND flip-flops. The ultimate chess apocalypse 😂

  • @quivalla

What Magnus was wearing looked good. It was classy and very professional. This rule concerning jeans is a rule that needs refinement. Nepo got fined for a sweater. Why is Fide unable to modernize the rules.? Also everyone and their dog knows this is not about jeans. This is exactly like the battle between Liv and the PGA tour. Exactly.

@@Narrowcros After 8 rounds he had 5 points and the table toppers had 6 points. With the games remaining he could’ve turned this around.
We’ve seen him doing that so many times. He often had slow start but managed to win it in the end. If u follow chess for a while then u should know that.

Chess concentration requires comfortable clothing, F.I.D.E. seems to be inclined more towards prickly underwear and more distracted blunders.

Lots of professional sports have dress codes, at least when you're not wearing team uniforms. You can't wear cutoff short jeans at Wimblelton or any shorts in a professional golf tournament.

Don’t kick him out at world championship but having him not participate in matches and essentially not able to play and win the tournament
Do it before they’re like with him but not before that high of a stake where it ends his chances of winning the tournament.
They should have let him finish the day. Or lined up other arrangements or something
This seemed personal on fide or something

Disappointing behavior from what everybody calls the goat. It seems that with increased business interests, and nothing left to win this self serving attitude seems the new norm. Set the example for the new generation in how you act, how you talk, how you dress. Don't make everything about yourself. When the organizing body asks you to respect the rules and go change then go change. Even when interviewed by levi he sits like a uninterested teenager who 's just been scolded. To bad his behavior doesn't rise to the level of his chess. Not a fan.

We can argue that the rules can be changed but not the point. You need to challenge beforehand if it is that important (which it isn't). I think after a poor day 1 he decided he would leave the tournament (again). Let's just focus on the chess which will be great.
