What i learned my first year in trucking is always take your time and always get the big picture of every situation every place is different always look far enough ahead and Always Get Out And Look!
@@coreyb1458 Excellent reflection! Road transport really requires a broad view of each situation and the care of always being aware of what is ahead, in addition to paying due attention to the surrounding environment. These learnings are essential to ensure safety and success at work. Congratulations on the experience and for the shared teachings! Stay dangerous🦾💀🏴☠️
My first year i learned alot about myself, and what i wanted out of trucking. I look back now and laugh but i started out doing flatbed and that was the hardest thing i've ever done in my life. but now i can appreciate all the lessons it taught me.
What did I really get myself into?team driving, spending money at truck stops, how really mean people are towards truck drivers, dot station -got a ticket along with a team driver who didn't pre trip and I was off duty..another true classic
Nobody ever told me that companies can be very unscrupulous, especially the smaller companies. Nobody ever told me how to research before signing on. That was the hardest lesson I had to learn.
Right on. Not just in trucking, but life in general. Somebody puts a document in front of you to sign, read it. Lawyer it if it’s like a house or something. You’d be surprised what employers sneak in on you. Most, especially large corporations take out life insurance on their employees for the companies benefit. Seems like it should be illegal, but there it is.
Unfortunately, this is a reality for many, especially when we are starting. They don't always alert us about the challenges behind the choices we make. The lesson you learned, although difficult, will certainly help you make more informed decisions in the future. Thank you for sharing.🦾💀🏴☠️
A lot of Shipping and receiving clerks (window people) won’t acknowledge you exist until you almost walk out. They will purposely frustrate you and then act like you are the problem. Then they are super slow and inefficient. Two windows at del monte in Rochelle, IL. I filled out my paperwork and stood in front of one window … ignored… waited. Then another trucker walked in and filled out his paperwork. I didn’t want to get line jumped so I went to the other window…. ignored… went back to the other … ignored. I witnessed both these ladies check their phones and have a laugh with a couple coworkers . And finally back to the other window. One lady snapped at me “sir, we are busy with other things. We will get to you when were are ready. I said “ ok, I didn’t know”. She snapped back each time and All I kept saying was “ok, I didn’t know.” Either of them could’ve taken the paperwork and told me to hang on a minute. At least then I would’ve known. One of hundreds of stories I could tell.
I totally understand. The delay in the process can make the journey even more difficult. Unfortunately, this happens in many places, and can be exhausting. The important thing is to try to maintain patience and calm, focusing on what is under your control. In the end, you are doing your part with professionalism. I hope that, despite these difficulties, you can always find ways to deal with these situations and move forward without losing motivation!Stay dangerous 🦾💀🏴☠️
There are going to be times when you’re stuck in traffic and it can be for a few hours , there are times you will have to wait to pull forward to fuel , and to shower . Use your time / clock wisely. Trucking definitely can test your patience
I'm very happy that the message touched you! I know that the beginning in transportation can be full of challenges and intense emotions, but it's good to know that, somehow, my experience can help others. Thank you for sharing a little of your journey too!God bless you🦾💀🏴☠️
Get used to not being able to shower everyday. Learn to use Body and Babywipes alot. There will be times you may not speak to someone for a few days. Just learn to be patient. Wild Beard is 100% correct. Being professional always helps!
I was a problem, I was too hype, mouth was slick, and I learnt from some driver trainers to Amp down my attitude..the rough roads otr drivers would actually deal with and I know this is within your first year,,I'm still dealing with alot of things but the difference is after a year I learned to meanuvure around and make and break challenges within a year I didn't know how and I made some career ending mistakes in my first year (I didn't do anything that was tragic)but nearly jeopardize my career (lost my cdl in my first year)
I really admire your honesty and willingness to learn from difficulties. We all go through challenges at the beginning and sometimes we make mistakes, but the important thing is to learn from them and grow. The fact that you are recognizing your attitudes and seeking to improve is already a big step. The driver's journey is full of ups and downs, but with perseverance, continuous learning and the will to overcome yourself, you will be able to achieve your goals. Stay strong and know that every mistake is a learning opportunity to build a solid career. You're on the right track!🦾💀🏴☠️
All negative things aside about trucking in general, one huge positive thing nobody told me about being a trucker is THE FREEDOM you feel being on the road and being able to see and experience small town America, to me thats the best part
You 2 seem to have a lot of fun on the road. It reminds me of the good old days when my wife used to go with me. Great message in this video. One of your best videos. I wish you continued success and I hope you have a happy new year.
Hello 👋 Hey Hi And Howdy 👋.. dude Man bro.. my daughter , Gotta set of those LED strips with 👀.. omg it's Flippin Awesome.. but it comes with presets, you can make it say hey bro turn your high beams off, or you can have it left turn right turn or stop
I understand perfectly. Sometimes it's easier to go on your own when you can't count on everyone's collaboration. Unfortunately, not everyone has the same commitment, which makes things more difficult. But, at the same time, this also strengthens the ability to move forward on your own. Stay firm, and may your journey always be safe and successful!🦾💀🏴☠️
Your good energy is so refreshing, I’ve been trucking for 4 years now and it has been a roller coaster of emotions! It has so many ups and downs and it is hard to leave my family especially with a child on the way. Thank you for bringing so much knowledge and insight.
Thank you for the wise words and the prayers it's always my favorite part of the video Golden Nugget I'm a truck driver out of Chattanooga Tennessee I have been watching your videos for years now you're a great truck driver a great father and a great husband and a dange good trucking brother
I am very happy to know that my words and prayers have made a difference to you! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and affection. It's an honor to know that you've been following the videos for so long and that, somehow, I can contribute to your daily life. May God continue to bless your journey as a driver, and may you always have safety and success on the road! Stay dangerous bro🦾💀🏴☠️
Fortunately I knew what I was getting into when I got back into trucking. When I retired from Law Enforcement, I knew from driving in the nineties before I joined Law Enforcement that trucking was that of solitude. The year I drove for Mayflower "as an owner operator" I experienced a lot. When I left I knew at that time trucking was not for me. Fortunately, I found my career and I retired after 20 years of service in US Government
I am currently a student, but I found you about three weeks before I started school and when they give you a timeframe of how long school is, it doesn’t really click until it’s went by and flashed before your eyes on how much time you don’t get to do these procedures, but yet they expect you to pass Because the company won’t pay the school if you don’t graduate and you don’t get a paycheck till you graduate, get your CDL and move onto the company and so it puts a lot of pressure on you and I am having trouble with my offset backing and because we came at Christmas time we’re missing three days because of Christmas and New Year’s so they’re not gonna allow us to make it up I’m still trying to learn my pre-trip I’m gonna pass, i’m just hoping by the graduation date of next Friday, but they really don’t tell you how much pressure that gets put on you when you go in mind you my father and almost everybody on my mother side of the family are all truck drivers but when you’re growing up around it they don’t explain this stuff to you. You just ride along for fun so that’s where I’m at, and if I can get through this and the train that they have us practicing on feels like we’re in a muddy lumpy mess not on asphalt. I’m pretty sure I can get through anything cause I’m not a quitter and I don’t give up. I also like to say thank you for the prayer. It was nice. I absolutely appreciate it and think I needed it.
You keep your head down and stay on the grind. I know about that kind of pressure too! I had to retake the test several times because it just wasn’t clicking with me and the school didn’t try at all to help me in any way. But I got through it because I was determined to never give up. You’ll do fine and you’ll get through this too. I’m saying a prayer right now for you specifically.
@ first of all I apologize for rambling on I think I was just so stressed out and when I heard your prayer, just kinda made me relax a little bit. I also appreciate your kind words and the wisdom that you put out in each of your videos and how you keep them funand it’s good to know that I’m not the only one that’s been in this position that spelt exactly the same way.
You're absolutely right! When God is our everything, we find the peace and strength to face any situation. He is our rock and source of everything we really need. May He continue to guide and bless us at every step!🦾💀🏴☠️
My first 4 months was not bad. My focus was money and gain experience to go back home. My Trainer show me how cheat logs when it was paper. Ran like hell 800 miles a day, 8hr sleep
Respect is fundamental in any relationship, and really, everyone deserves to be treated with consideration. Sometimes, however, the way we deal with lack of respect is what makes the difference. It is important to maintain our integrity, even in the face of adversity.
I moved from Wisconsin down to Pensacola FL to be by my daughter and grandkids but it’s difficult to find a local or regional job down here ! I’ve seen hirschbach plenty but tell me why I should come work there! I’d gladly refer you but I’m hesitant being an owner op for 17 years but I need to get back at it!
Well we have a terminal in Dover FL and we just gave a pay raise to all solo lease drivers. The pay went up 12 cents. I’ve got a video on it on Thursday morning.
It is true that everyone faces their challenges in a unique way, and for those who are only children, it may seem easier to deal with loneliness at certain times. But, as Christians, we know that we are never alone, because God is always with us, guiding and strengthening us at all times. Thank you for your comment and for the words of wisdom!God bless you bro 🦾💀🏴☠️
It’s not rocket science. ALL companies are only looking out for themselves. Don’t let them fool you into thinking they care about you. ALL lease purchase deals have a no win clause. Hirschbachs lure was the 99 cents per gallon fuel cost. Sounds good until you realize Hirschbach keeps all fuel surcharges paid to the company. Do the math. You would be better paying pump price and keeping the fuel surcharges yourself. Unfortunately most drivers fall for these schemes thinking the company cares about them.
You literally do everything alone you are alone there's no mommy there's no daddies there's no brother no sisters no aunts grandma and grandpa girlfriends wives this is you and that road and the trailer behind you. Lol
Yes, the road can be lonely, but it also teaches a lot about resilience and independence. Although you are alone at the wheel, you can take with you the memories and support of those who love you, even at a distance. Each trip is an opportunity to grow and value even more those who are part of your life. Thank you for sharing your opinion.🦾💀🏴☠️
Leasing or Leasing/purchase is for those who should never be an Owner Operation!! You are like illegal independent dispatchers and foreigners who come here to drop our pay!!
When those memphis cops, who were black, beat that black kid to death, they were arrested and indicted swiftly. Whats the hold up. I understand its a different state but the circumstances r the same. WTF.
I love this lifestyle. I wished I was able to get into this 20 years ago. It took a minute to overcome my natural instinct to placate people who are aggravated by me or my big lumbering truck but I’m ok telling those people to eat me by smiling at their piss poor attitude.
