My boyfriend is a super guitar player, he is 70 playing in bands etc since he was 17, I grew up with learning piano, and know about timing, from my classical music, I've just started with ukeleles, tenor CTuning and Bertone with GTuning, similar to guitar, my boyfriend would like me to play guitar eventually, we go to alot of Jams, mainly guitar players and I'm training my ear with various chords I've learned from you, thank-you! I'm week on the strums and how to use them while jamming. I've notice that the cowboy strum is the most used, I hit the D string then hit all 4 strings on the first beat following how most of the guitar players do, works pretty much for most of the songs but when it's a walz 3/4 timing I get a bit confused to what srumg to go to, your teachings are very interesting Thanks

My husband and I are social distancing, so looking for productive ways to fill my time. This is perfect. Thank you! I can actually get lost in my practice and have done so in the past for up to two hours. You provide enough information to allow for further personal study.

Kevin I found you back with the "prettiest Uke song in the world" video and liked it but it wasn't enough to move me from the channel / teachers I was using. After seeing the new style with the blue information block below your teaching, it was a game changer. I really like it, it gives a visual clue of course but helps with the timing etc. A suggestion for future classes might be, go over a song with your excellent teaching technique as usual, maybe break it down over two or three lessons and then do a full play along as a standalone lesson. It would be good to get a complete song instead of additional bits and pieces however that is extremely helpful also. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for the work tho!

Actually, Elvis's version of "Can't Help Falling in Love" is in 6/8 or 12/8 time, not 3/4. But I suppose the example of Twenty One Pilots shows that those time signatures are more or less interchangeable for purposes of ukulele strumming. Just be sure not to apply a fast, pounding "1, 2, 3" beat to this slow, tender song, as one might do by thinking too literally in terms of 3/4.
