Wow! Your work is amazing! I just recently found out about the quilling technique and am fascinated by it. I don't think I have the patience for it, but I enjoy watching the process and seeing the finished product.
Ayani art hi......Im from México City and congratulation for youre fantastic work ,you impresed me ....this means CRAFTY GIRL "LOVE U"....I THINK Im going to learn from an expert byeeeeeee
*Question, please. How do you apply the rhinestones so that they will stay on?? They appear as if they're NOT attached to anything. Thank you. Absolutely gorgeous butterfly!!*
Beautiful design, thanks for sharing it with us. I am new to quilling and there's only one thing sure: I lack experience. Do you recommend a certain type of surface as the base? I presume a sheet of A4 paper is a little fragile and too flexible, I am afraid it would ruin the whole thing. Or does it work? Thank you again and I wish you to forever be inspired! :)
I am using the glass or the wood from the back of the frame I buy to glue my paper background on it. Yes, only the paper does not work because it will become wavy from the glue and the weight of the quilling pieces. If you have the frame, remove the glass and add solid glue on it, then place your paper on it. This background will remain like this and nor become wavy. If you don´t have a frame, you need a thick cardboard background to keep it from becoming wavy
Hi Ayani I am new to Quilling and you are an inspiration to me. I do have one question, how big is the template meant to be, when I printed out the butterfly template I ended up with an A4 sized butterfly which is to say 27.5 cm x 19 cm (about 11"x 7 ½") I would asume that is too big. I look forward to hearing from you so I can have a go at your beautiful quilling tutorial.
+vera bates it´s not too big, I used the same size in making this video, but if you want to make a smaller one you can just drag the picture in a word document and make the butterfly smaller.
That is beautiful. But my crazy aunt says that I'm too old for arts and crafts. She also says that I'm too old for celebrity crushes. When I was 3 years old, I said, "I love you, too, Barney." And then my crazy aunt said, "Hannah! You are 3 years old! You are way too old for celebrity crushes! When will you grow up and start taking life more seriously for crying out loud?!" I love butterflies, though. They're so beautiful.
Hi! I'm new to quilling and was wondering what type of paper do you use for the backing? I'm using card stock and it is rippling when I put glue on it. Am I doing something wrong or using the wrong paper? LOVE your videos!
Yes, it depends on the quality of the paper, but also of its thickness. I used different types of card stock for the background, but it is very important to attach it to something harder, like on a piece of wood or glass. In the beginning, I did not use anything on the background, but only card stock, and due to the liquid glue would become wavy, so I discovered a good way of gluing it on glass and it keeps the card stock from becoming wavy. You can see how I do it at the beginning of this video: ruclips.net/video/vsRzbfHQ2oI/видео.html
+grabotte I usually create the elements for both wings in the same time. In the video I don´t show it, but when I create a spiral, I create a duplicate for the other wing.
The most usual paper strips are 3mm wide, but it depends on what type of work you want to do. The width for the strips in this video is 1.25 cm, but it really depends on how you like it, you can use wider or narrower strips if you cut them by hand. If you buy them already precut, you don't have that much variety.
I used 180 gr (65 lb) cardstock glued on the glass of the frame I was using. You can see how I glue it on the glass in this tutorial: ruclips.net/video/vsRzbfHQ2oI/видео.html
+Megan Rodrigues Yes, I make my own strips and I definitely think it is better for several reasons: You have a bigger variety of colors and also you can cut your paper what size you want. It is also cheaper, but for me the most important is the thickness of the paper: I don´t like the precut one because it´s too thin and for the projects I do it´s not good.
hello! my name is daniela and i am from italy. you are a very creative girl! i think i'm gonna learn from a super extra professional!!!!! see ya!!!! ;-P
+Maitrayee Datta I cut them with a cutter. The paper I use is thicker than the one that comes precut. I use 160 grams (65 lb) paper and the one that comes precut is somewhere around 80-100 grams
mashaAllah very talented. I need some unique design for decoration of sarees which v r gng to display in marriage. pls suggest wth sum thing awesome like dis video
Wow. I'm seeing this for the first time and I must admit this is pure art. Amazing work, and skills. The bracelet is also very cool. Did you made it by yourself?
Amazing work, love the butterfly. How wide is the slot on your quilling tool? You use wide strips of paper but the tool is not that wide, right? Also, how do you cut your paper strips?
You have to roll it slowly, otherwise if you keep it between your fingers and roll it fast, you can cut yourself. I got used to it and I don't cut myself anymore
is very good... i very like it... I am from Indonesia .... aku suka banget

Hi! I'm new to quilling and was wondering what type of paper do you use for the backing? I'm using card stock and it is rippling when I put glue on it. Am I doing something wrong or using the wrong paper? LOVE your videos!
I just read another comment on what type of paper! I think I may be using too much glue!

You may indeed use too much glue, but I think it's the thickness of paper you use, rather than the quantity of glue
Thank you so much for your help! I'm having fun learing!
You are welcome. You can contact me on my Facebook page if you have more questions

Beautiful ! But how do you calculate the good lenght of the paper strips ?? And to make the second wing like the first ?!...
+grabotte I usually create the elements for both wings in the same time. In the video I don´t show it, but when I create a spiral, I create a duplicate for the other wing.

Hey! Ayani do u make ur own quilling strips? If yes is it better?

This is amazing!! Do you thunk you could do a tutorial on just making a very complex flower?
+firefist15 Yes, I have many ideas in my mind, but my time is very limited. Do you have any idea to suggest me?
Lovely work, but how much time does it take for you to make these things? Seems so time consuming......
+Mel Donovan It is time consuming. It took me a day to make it
What kind of paper do you use
any 100 gm paper
how do you prevent paper cuts? i tried and had fingers full of paper cuts!! great work!!
You have to roll it slowly, otherwise if you keep it between your fingers and roll it fast, you can cut yourself. I got used to it and I don't cut myself anymore
very good
