Lactobacillus species found in kefir are diverse.
such as Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus delbrueckii, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus reuteri, and Lactobacillus buchneri groups, Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens and Lactobacillus kefiri species with other strains being found amongst the Leuconostoc and Lactococcus genera
These individual species account for a significant proportion of the Lactobacillus species found in kefir
