Fun Fact: ''Meteora" is an actual place in Greece. It's a very famous rock formation with a number of Greek-Orthodox monasteries build on top, dating back to the Eastern Roman/ Byzantine Empire in the Middle Ages. The name means roughly: "elevated" or "hanging in the air", in Greek. A James Bond movie with Roger Moore was shot there and the famous Linkin Park album is also named after the place ( Mike Shinoda read about it, in a travel magazine and found this would be a great name for their album.) I know that Leo Fender had some Greek ancestry, maybe that's how he came up with the name for this model...
I have an adore/hate relationship with the Meteora This is such a sick, retro-futuristic body shape and I LOVE seeing Fender make new stuff, but the finish options and appointments are hugely disappointing IMO. This body shape is begging for more solid color finishes (lake placid blue, black, olympic white, aztec gold) with matching headstocks IMO. Sunburst and maple headstocks look kinda old school on this relatively fresh shape (not bad, just doesn't play into the contemporary, futuristic vibe of the body for me). Matte finishes could also be sick, especially on a baritone. I'd also love to see a line of the Meteora that modernizes the Jazzmaster configuration - JM tremolo + pickups with mid 60s Fender custom colors and matching headstocks. The Ultra II line is the best/coolest line of Meteoras so far, but there's still a bit of untapped potential in this shape IMO. Doesn't feel like Fender has completely fleshed out its unique personality yet.
The bass cut sounds similar to what's on the Guthrie Govan Charvel. Makes it sound single-coilish without losing volume. Makes sense if it's the identical function.
my favorite of yours is the vintage white (almost yellowish, cream) strat with the blackguard. I've got the same. Very similar to the strat used by lifeson on the exit stage left live dvd
I have been owning the black Meteora for a year now. It's in its core a fantastic instrument, but with loads of mexican problems, like sharp fret ends, paint stains on the fretboard, loose tremolo bar, switch already broken, split knob already broken, badly cut nut, half painted chrome logo etc. She's my favourite guitar, so expressive and beautiful, but it's a difficult relationship, haha.
I have one of the Alternate Reality Meteoras (tuneomatic, two humbuckers that i swapped for a Suhr Thornbuckers set) and it's THE BEST Fender SG ever. It's superlight, resonant, looks jazzmaster big but feels small like strat on the body, and it's superconfortable in both playing positions. I really hope Fender keeps the Meteora going in that fixed bridge configuration because the strat bridge in the Player Plus throws me off. There's plenty of strats out there. The cuts in the rearbody, next to the neck pocket are new to this line, so i suspect this will be even lighter. The Ultra II in Texas Tea looks beautiful. - My only gripe here is the knob placement.
@@castleanthrax1833 I apologize, couldnt help it. LOL Its like asking "Are you gonna eat here or to go?" Then I answer Yes to cause confusion. That's it.
I'm sorry. Too much gain and delay? Is that even possible? Maybe so, but not in what I heard there. I'm really impressed with those pickups and controls.

"Meteora" also means "falling star" in italian
@@LB-pp7pu Oh cool, didn`t know that !👍
Nice to see Fender pushing “new” products into the space we all love.
I dig it. In my opinion that's what we need. Some new ideas, shapes , sounds and electronics.
Nice to see something fresh, I dig it.
Thank you for making this , you sound Great and the guitar sounds Outrageous
Take care
I like the aesthetic and it has interesting electronic on this one. I dig this.

I’m totally digging this axe. That body contour is sick but the tones are even more. First time hearing a coil split I liked. ❤
That ridge for the contour is such a nice accent. Beautiful guitar
Yep. That one is gonna get my money. A small always a sucker for a hard tail Fender.

That does look very nice indeed and sounds really good too.
That's a crazy shape for a fender, pretty cool. gotta love ebony on the board, my stat has that and it takes it up a level.
Nice isn't it?!

Super cool guitar!
"Too much gain.." Who would say such nonsense! 😛

those shifty favela canadians....
they need to make them in all black and bright neon colors
Killer new axe!

Far out, that's it isn't - Fender SG
If possible can you let us know what that super saturated chain is? I need the super heavy overdrive delay that was Sublime
sound Very bright and it is not humbuckers sound !!
Dude, if I was in the room with you when you opened that case, I wouldn’t told you to just play it at the show lmao
Why does every guitar company have to put the vol knob close to the bridge pickup. All that wood and gotta put it there.
interesting. nice to see some movement modelwise. that switch though... tends to get in the way when twohandtapping on my lp. is it an issue here?
Nice!🎸✌️
Man thats nice😮
Tap the humbuckers or split the humbuckers?
Yes
@jecky82 It's not a question you can answer with "yes," unless it does both.

@@jecky82 👍
@@castleanthrax1833 To answer your question, Its a coil split. (S-1 switch coil-split).
Fucking love Meteoras.
It's a vibe hey

i like meteora but its design is a just an unlawsuit explorer design interpretation (reversed and curving).
Looks a bit like an Ibanez Talman that took up a keto diet 🤔 Sounds great though!
Looks like a guitar you "play" with drumsticks through fuzz 😂
It's a no from me.
Ugh.
