They make great pets just got one two days ago and fell in love ❤ my fav frog so far but I would recommend a Pac-Man frog because u can’t handle tomato frogs often
I have one of these a baby and god when you say secretive your right I sat there for an hour looking for him lightly moving around the moss he dug himself almost completely under the ground I did research but clearly not enough didn’t know they dug that deep all I saw was his little eye poking out, im so exited to expand his setup
I also had a tomato frog and it lived a pretty long time. I cohabited it with a chubby frog and they both did fine together for years. I believe they were both female.
I accidentally mixed dairy cows and powder blues in 3 enclosures, when I first got into bioactives. They are doing well 18 months later. I am aware that the species crash usually comes at 24 months, so I keep an eye on them.
I've done plenty of planted fish tanks and had a desert lizard as a kid, but thinking about some Tomato frogs now that I no longer have fish tanks. Would bioactive substrate like this stink under any circumstance? Our landlord is worried about mold since we're in a humid area already, so I'm wondering if these types of multi-animal active setups produce much smell outside of the tank, like with a wire lid.
Hi in new here, I just bought my first pacman frog. I was wondering if the isopods multiply themselves or do I have to keep adding. Also what heating device do you use and how do you keep humidity levels up. I have the same tank with mesh net cover and I think it's losing humidity because if it. Thank you in advance
Isopods are capable of multiplying themselves, their population can increase naturally if the conditions are suitable. As for heating, they require a warm environment, ideally within the temperature range of 75-85°F. We always recommend an overheat heat source to replicate the sun above, with mats, there is potential you could burn your frogs belly. Aim for humidity levels between 70-80%. We utilize our Thermometer/hygrometer to monitor both ambient temperatures and the humidity. About how much is a set up like this? Not including the tank, I have a 50 and I’m wanting to fill it but I don’t know what I want for a set up🤔I just don’t want something that is gonna be crazy expensive to set up and upkeep
Misting the overall enclosure is sufficient. If you have plants that require a little more moisture, I would recommend directing the water toward their root base.
We recommend quarantining any species for a minimum of 2-3 weeks. This way you can monitor their eating habits along with their waste to ensure their healthy and thriving before introducing them into their environment.
I need tips to do a terrarium to a epicrathes assisi, is like a cousin of rainbow boa, but she lives in caatinga, i don’t know what i can use in substrate and decomposers (isopodes and spring tails)
I can’t believe I didn’t know these little guys existed :0 new fav frog!
Aren't they just the cutest fat frogs?!

Please keep us updated on the progress. I honestly wanted to see for myself, especially as the enclosure matures. Thank you for sharing.
Come on in and see if these are the fat frogs for you. That has me so dead I'm gushing at these angry tomatoes how cute
Would this enclosure and setup be good for Pac-Man frogs???

im thinking of getting a tomato frog as someone who has never owned frogs before. is this kind of setup good for beginers?
Absolutely! There are so many benefits that come along with a Bioactive set up!
Thank you! I can't wait to get my lil ketchup set up in a tank like this 🥹
Very exciting!

Can they be in a mostly water environment?
They thrive best in a substrate based environment, they enjoy burrowing to create a little sitting spot.

Do you need to water the plants or is misting the whole terrarium sufficient?

Great video, I wish u mailed them things I want me a couple, I got a pacman frog 🐸
Thank you! We prefer to not ship live animals due to the stress the transit times can cause them. I do apologize for the inconvenience.
Can you make a habitat for Pacman frogs?

What are the top 5 plants you would recommend for pac man frogs? I am using your Terra Firma.
I never seen this frog
Why don't you use a real terrarium? Exo Terras are just a compromise.
