Tomi that bitch is too dam young, ignorant and white to understand how other ethnicities are treated by police. She's too inexperienced, she's too wet behind the ears. She lacks the life experience to make any kind of statement or judgement. She's in her early 20s and only hired because of her looks. It can't be because she's been through a lot. I was raised in a upper class neighborhood in NYC I can tell you from first hand experience. When it came to searching people they searched everyone including the women no matter the color. When I came to issuing worthless tickets only the minoritys seen it, in the same group of people that were searched. Never failed
Don't misinterpret what I am saying, I love cops and their also my friends, but I'm not going to pretend as if rasism doesn't exist with in that field.

When I was your age, I did the exact same thing. I stood back and took notes. I was also a bartender for many years from a very young age. So I learned very quickly on how people can be. I also learned how much shit the police have to put up with. Most cops are phenomenal tippers, like 99% of them and their also polite.
But this chick, very much lacks the life experience to provide a professional opinion. You're absolutely right she's just trying to get the attention and its sad. She has other interviews and you can tell she is just a young girl. By viewing those interview I'm starting to think, all this info is written out for her.

OK well you are saying that 5 times more black people are shot than white, which sounds horrible; but put that in perspective. If you are a cop in NYC and a shooting happens there is a 75% chance that the perp is black when only about 25% of the population is black. So you have a situation where, yes, cops are looking at black people as more likely suspects. The problem is that these police shootings do not go to trial. What we need are DAs in the inner city that are willing to prosecute police who are at fault. The only way that can happen is if the people that live there get up and VOTE for DA that has their back. It might actually help to stop with the street code of snitches & stitches when you know who is doing shit as well. You might find that if you are not hostile to police they are more likely to see your side. In the meantime, do not resist arrest. We are not talking about Alton, if he just complies in the first place.
Lets just say for the sake of argument that Blacks are demonstrably more violent and more likely to shoot a cop. That would mean that when a cop pulls a black person over, if the cop gives the black person the benefit of the doubt, the cop is risking his life. Hey... wait a minute! The cop is the person that is supposed to risk his life! Funny how that works out when cops accept the burden of danger instead of the citizens he pulls over.

I didn't really say blacks were more violent I said they are the perpetrator in violent shootings more often. It doesn't have to be a race thing, there could be other factors like poverty or the perception of police in their community. I am sure back in the old says when there was decent work in Harlem the streets were calmer.
My point was simply that to say black people are targeted more and nothing else is disingenuous when black people are also guilty more often.
The difference I guess in simple English is: More black people tend to live in the shit part of town; NOT The shit part of town is that way because black people live there.
My guess is that it is due largely to the fact that there are very few jobs in ghetto areas and those people who are born there and apply themselves are able to move out, so you have the dregs falling back down to the bottom.
As far as incidents where there is a suspicious shooting taking place, I think you have to take them one by one. It is too easy to get lost in generalities in these cases
Alton was a felon reported to have a gun. You would have to be a moron to not be a bit on edge. There are other cases in which the officer(s) are clearly to blame.
At the heart of the problem is the fact that the District Attorney's office has a direct ongoing relationship with the police as they set up the prosecutions and the cops make the busts and collect evidence. It is harder to be open-minded when you are putting members of your own team under scrutiny. Perhaps it would be better for the local Attorney's office to recuse themselves in officer shooting cases and call in an independent prosecutor to take over the case.
You are so far removed from reality. You don't live in an inner city do you? You've never experienced what these people go through. It's not about police responding to a shooting. It's about being harassed and threatened for just walking to the store or going to work. I've experienced it and seen it happen all my life to completely innocent people whose only crime is being black.
Show me the complaints you filed with the Police Dept and show me where you sue'd them

To some people black lives didn't and don't have the same value as the lives of white people. No one is saying black lives are more important than other lives. BLM = equal justice under the law.

There is a lot of misunderstanding on both sides of this issue. This piece does nothing to clear up any misunderstandings.

Every piece of journalism sits on a continuum between clearing up misunderstandings, and entrenching partisan positions. The later is indicated in most of the suffering we collectively inflict upon ourselves.
But journalism is also made up of opinions and facts. Nowadays things have changed with this "race war" going on its all about shoving personal opinions down each others throats forcing each group apart and turning others against others.
Right, a lot of the rhetoric is divisive. One of the most divisive aspects of it is that each side misunderstands what the other is saying. Instead, they go to ideologically aligned news sites to here commentary on what the other side is saying. This is actually a root cause of the problems we are facing in politics. Journalists have no incentives to change their ways; however, if they did aim to inform instead of divide, they'd find that the public is about 95% in agreement on most of the issues that they think divide them. (There is an empirical study, which I personally replicated, which proves this.)
As I get older, i realized... the wisest are the youngest. In my elementary school, there were mexicans, latinos, whites, blacks, asians, whatever else there is: and everyone was friends. No one gave a shit about the color. As long as you didnt pick your nose or some shit.

She doesn't know what it's like to shop at a high end store and have people give you weird looks as if you don't belong there or when you go to Walmart and employees start following you around the store because they think you're going to steal. She doesn't know what's it's like to have someone call you the n word. Cuz it hurts a lot. Lastly she doesn't know how it feels when a police officer stops you for no reason while you're walking down the street or when they forcefully abuse their power just because of the color of your skin. She may have something called "freedom of speech" but that doesn't mean she has a right to shutdown anyone that speaks up about racial inequality going on in America. Kids should be taught what I was taught: if a policeman asks you a question, you answer honestly. If a policeman asks you to do something, you do it. You don't argue, you don't try to run away - you do exactly what you're told. How many killings by police - of ALL races and genders - would be stopped if ALL people followed those rules?

Like a point made in an earlier young Turks video, a white college student was caught raping an unconscious woman, spent five years in prison, a black college student was accused of raping a woman, he was facing 41 years in prison, the woman finally came forward, confessing the story was made up, by that time he had served six years, so everyone saying the police did nothing wrong, and saying BLM is a useless and wrong organization, you're all ignorant. Some police officers are racist, not saying all are, and it's been proven by the shootings, especially a wire police officer shooting a black twelve year old boy for playing with a toy gun, note the word toy, in a matter of seconds. Black people are blamed for most crimes and face more time in prison than most white people who commit the same crimes. This is an organization fighting for equal rights among all, it is stupid to think that they are trying to get attention.
