This is exactly what I plan on doing. I know most people don’t care that there are gaps or different colored bricks, but I will display my modulars on a shelf and want them to look nice

I feel the same way! Even though it’s just a small edge, it would bother me to see yellow and red bricks from the side like that!

Boy was this satisfying to watch… and educational! 🤓📝

I didn't play with a ton of Lego as a kid, but when you brought out that yellow bricks I had some serious nostalgia feels. 🤗

Right?? The yellow and red bricks still give me that iconic nostalgic feel for sure!

Congratulations on your first mill plate. Can't wait to see what you build on it. I'll stop by on twitch after hunting season.

It really annoys me that Lego and much of the big online Lego contributors are pushing everyone towards Mils Plates. First off, it’s a huge extra expense to use all those extra plates and bricks. Secondly, I love the old road plates and there is no way to use them in a Mils setup, and again the new road system is extremely expensive and horrible, especially if you want curved road areas. Thirdly,……unless you are planning on showing your city in a Lego convention or some other venue outside of your home….they serve no real purpose. I can totally see this for huge Lego contributors and anyone continually taking apart and reassembling your city, but if your city is basically for your own enjoyment and occasional videos, it really adds a lot of needless expense to “your hobby”. And speaking candidly, if many of the large online Lego contributors were truthful, they were tell you that becoming popular has taken something away from their enjoyment of their “hobby”. Once your passion become a source of income and the expectation of notoriety….you loose the wonder and enjoyment of why you started, in the first place. When you turn your hobby into a business, you loose something very special. Mils are just a waste of money.

The beauty of brick building is that you can enjoy it however you want! If you don’t like MILS, don’t build it! No sense stressing over something that other people like to do within the hobby you enjoy. That can also ruin the joy of it for you! Keep your peace friend 🙌🏼

If you don’t want MILS you don’t have to have them.
Modulars are heavy and baseplates are flimsy. Having a sturdy base is useful

(A personal annoyance: using the pronoun "we" when talking about things that you personally are doing. This isn't just you; this seems to be a trend among creators. Whhhyyyy, though?!) Carry on ... I really enjoy your channel!

Hahahahaha it’s so true! I have been making content for 7 years and I think I have always done this. Possibly to feel like everyone watching is involved?? lol. I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel regardless Beth! 😂
