- She was buried around 3,800 years ago and has European features, like many other mummies in this complex. She is unusually well preserved, with clothes, hair, and eyelashes still intact. She was found in the Taklamakan desert, part of Marco Polo’s legendary journey from Venice to the far reaches of the Mongol Empire. His travels 700 years ago revealed an exotic world of riches the west had little knowledge of. But how does his journey look today?

ngl I feel like yall are kind of baiting us with the titles and pics. I dont mind the story but please be honest. Its getting annoying.
Yeah! I’m 3/4 in…Where’s the mummy?
yep you think they'd be more credible & have some respect for their own brand.
Even thumbnail mild click bate techniques feels like deception. This world 🙄
The people behind the click bait worthy thumbnail need a raise.
Agreed. I rarely click on their videos these days, despite being subscribed, because it's so rarely the story they market it as.
If she is THIS beautiful in death, imagine her beauty when she was alive😮
?
Ikr?! At 1st , I thought it was just me, but I think her mummy is absolutely beautiful! I just started the doc & am hoping they do a reconstruction of her face. If they do, am sure she would be just gorgeous! 🥰
😨
Oh doll you have such a way with words.
I did a online research in her face reconstruction and she was a real beauty.
If you want the bit about the mummy its from 7:01 to 10:42 approximately the rest is about Marco Polo and the Mongols. Very misleading title and very disappointing.
Absolute History needs to work on their titles. I was expecting a documentary about the mummy not something else. I noticed a lot of their titles seem to be way off from the film it self. This should really be named the search for marco polo by ---- explorer.
9:40 That bone structure though! The fact a nearly 4000 year old mummy is more beautiful than I could ever be makes me feel just great 👍🥴
Beautiful documentary and I would recommend it to anyone but I agree the title was misleading. The story was worth the watch but people might be turned away by inaccurate titles.
Like 3 minutes dedicated to the mummy. Come on now.
bitches be cappin
Although having read Marco Polos Journal many years ago - I was interested in the female mummy and how that owuld fit into the real episode. Hearing of Marco Polo's comments - and that of this Chinese/Mongolian scholar researching backwards Marco Polo was interesting - you never got to the real heart of the start of the vid.
I was expecting a tale about a mummy, and instead got something much more special! Hearing about the meeting of Polo and Khan was great enough, but I really loved hearing from the incredible modern day women in this documentary and the traditions that have been passed down.
Knowing how much shortsighted and impulsive things we men do, guided by passion and rage, a female matriarchy seem like a good idea. Letting the woman with the most births and the most years behind her decide what is best for the family must function better then how most people do it here in the west.
@@elvenkind6072 I'd have to agree, looking at the other two most intelligent species on our planet, the Orca and the Elephant both are matriarchal guided by an old wise woman with a great memories and stories to tell her people. We have a lot to learn from the animal kingdom.
You are already living in matriarchal society ruled by “male” wussies raised and appointed by these boobs))) show me ONE civilised man???
It’s been Dark Matriarchy for millennia and we are observing involution of humanity because of that 🍭
@@aineodubhthaigh2055 Err. I think you might need to go outside, get some perspective. Name one civilised man? Okay... how about most men that don't generalise and lump a whole group of people together. And how about base their assumptions of a person on their character rather than their socially constructed labels. I think as a matter of fact there's loads of civilised people, men or not. Its just unfortunate how certain societies have been structured and influenced but let's not forget people can be many things, and it's worth thinking that society can and does change over time.
@@elvenkind6072See several videos on still existing matriarches, most complete is a

She is so beautiful, even after a couple thousand of years sleep. She must've been mesmerizing to look at. This video has truly piqued my curiosity about that part of the world during that time period. So happy to have come across it. 💓 many blessings to that Musuo family, especially the youngest interviewed girl. You can see she's got so much weight on her shoulders to continue with the family/cultural tradition or to modernize herself for her future. I hope she chooses what makes her most happy 💚
I hope that the Chinese government doesn’t squash her culture as they have the Tibetans.
Yes iam 11 minutes in and that is the prettiest mummie i have seen. Most dont even look manly or woman anymore
@@Patriot1789 gosh I hope they don't too. (Side note: I have your name tattooed on me! It's my mamas name! I have only seen it a handful of times in my life)
@@Margriet101 their weather conditions must be pristine to have kept her so perfectly perfect
She is uygur women's mummy .local ethnic groups living in est turkistan occupied by china . ( people call her Kroken guzeli mean in beauty of kroren )
Not Uygur, but Uygurs do have some of the same Cau casian ancestry that her people come from though.
Uyghur did not exist at that time
@@suchaipiset6484 so Uyghurs comes from sky? That mummy is Uyghurs ancestors.
Dude. They had one little clip of the mummy.
45 min long doc and the mummy is pictured/discussed for less than 60 seconds. Totally irrelevant to everything else in the video. Should have been titled Marco Polos journey or something. Clickbait
That’s a beautiful mummy. Wow!
Ikr?! Seems weird we might think a dead person is beautiful, but this one is just stunning. I bet she was a rare beauty in life, such lovely features! 😍
This isn't about the mummy they only mentioned once for less than 5 minutes!!!!! Bogus!
This channel does that a lot. It annoys me too, but I still like the history.
Tx for the heads up!
This isn't a video on the beautiful mummy. Just call it marco pollos journey.
I thought we were going to learn about the woman discovered as a beautiful mummy. Not a word about her. The video was interesting but you should probably use titles that more aptly describe the video you’re posting.
She's gorgeous! She had to be stunning when she was alive! Holy crap.
A pleasant surprise and a delightful rarity to see a Chinese researcher visit the home city of Marco Polo, to hear his actual Chinese voice, while parts of the narrative uses Marco Polo's own words in Italian (though we know that Polo's account, as transcribed by Rustichello da Pisa while they were both in prison, was taken down in Medieval Franco-Venetian).
The cheekbones of that mummy is 🔥. So beautiful!
Liars !!!! I came here for the mummy damnit , not Marco Polo 😭😭😭
The Tocharians an Indo-European, almost Celtic looking people arguably set up the Silk Road where East met West, potentially bringing Bronze and the Chariot to China among other ideas, the weaving of woolen garments? The Tocharian Mummies where a red haired man and blonde woman with pigtails were found were clearly Europid, wearing a "Tartan" weave!
Ideas would have flowed both ways of course and the Tocharians were bred or wiped out by Mongol, Tartar peoples. Not a popular claim among the Chinese who are very Nationalistic (now) if not Chauvainistic (and very much Han dominated) - i.e all old ideas are Chinese in origin.. Makes you wonder what's in the MANY pyramids built across China that were systematically hidden by having trees planted over them. I'm not saying they had Tocharians or other White (or Happa - mixed) peoples in, and #notall, buuuut...
Your white supremacist ideology is showing 😅
I want more of the xiaohe princess than of Marco polo .but I still finish the story.
Interesting, even though it really wasn't about the mummy. Thank goodness I'd already seen a show that actually WAS about this mummy a few years back.
There was less than five minutes concerning the 4000 year old mummy. That was the reason why I clicked on this video so I find your title very misleading.
I'm praying for everyone. From the city of brotherly Love!!! AMEN PHILADELPHIA USA
That was wonderful...
Thank you so much... 🌞
It's a 45 minute video hun
They mentioned the mummy for all of about 5 minutes in this documentary.
Awesome series. Thank you.
Are there more of them? About Marco Polo, I mean?
Nice documentary but it has nothing to do with the mummy please change titles
Dang, look at them cheek bones and eyelashes.
she is stunning it’s too bad they couldn’t just let her rest but such a fascinating story
Tradition is important, Family is important...These people can teach the rest of the World the true meaning of family, Loyalty, Tradition and honesty...God Bless..YES keep your songs and music alive, Keep teaching generation after generation...More so now than ever...especially in a fast paced World where a hand shake means nothing anymore, Families are torn apart by petty means, and Families don't even eat at the dinner table together or say a prayer before they eat anymore!...Kids walk around spoiled and entitled, Technology is bringing people further apart...tradition and love for the family unit keeps people close. These Families, Values and traditions will stay alive as Long as they work together making it possible..."A Family that Prays together, stays together"
fed up with these misleading titles.
The mummy part just only 3 minutes. What kind of bullshit it is?
What a beautiful culture,
You know you had to be stunning in real life when you're amazingly beautiful dead lol like damn. Woman had to be absolutely stunning when she was alive.
Lady Dai is currently 2000 years old. Princess Xiaohe was already 2000 years old when Lady Dai was alive! Shocking tbh.
Thank you.
What the heck is the noise at 9:31?
Surprised these mummies haven't been moved to a museum.
The Princess actually appears more European than Mongolian in the thumbnail for the video. Also, very beautiful.
Mongols have nothing to do with this mummies..
why always putting in everywhere this Mongols, or chinese ...
but not correctly Uyghurs?
Because Uyghurs have features that this mummies got, cause they assimilated and became genetic tree of Uyghurs long time ago..
but you still plussing only mongols and chinese, which genesis is from Ass of the world
Every mummy looks european..even an african one will look european, LOL.
She is a Caucasian beauty not European!
brilliant doc
This is supposed to be about a mummy…..I didn’t come here to watch modern day clips of retailers whilst listening to Marco polos life story.
This is SO COOL!
Ancient North Eurasian mummy
Why do you mislead your viewers with cheap click bait? These are good documentaries. There's no need to lie. It's really boring, actually.
I went to show my daughter about this because she's studying mummies, but the comments about the bait and switch and I'm out for good.
Wish I had checked before watching :/
Watch it anyways. It's worth it.
I skipped a different video to come to this one because i thought it was gonna be in depth of the mummy. You need to change the title
Where is part 1? I want more!
Absolute History, absolute clickbait
I request Egyptologist Dr. Fletcher to investigate this mummy lady with her team of experts!!!

Tarim mummies are not Mongols.
@@kasyakyoubfgamindikisboratNope. Ca ucasian. Also interesting, speaking of Genghis..a D N A test on all the men found in a Golden Family grave site in Tavan Tolgoi shows that they have the same exact haplogroup as most West Eu ros and Whi te Americans, with their maternal side being C or D, which can strongly imply that Genghis himself was at least part C aucasian himself, especially considering the clan he came from was even named for their bl ue eyes.
@@stephenodubhlaoich Tarim Mummies are Not Nomads, they don't migrated to other places, in 8 century they were already mixed with Turkic people and then with Uyghurs until Mongols appeared in 13 century.

Why all the misleading thumbnail pics??
3 minutes dedicated to the one mummy that's in the video title? Seriously?
All of these Caucasian mummies found there were in amazing condition!!Scientists found, through their clothing and fiber they migrated originally from Europe.
Caucasian mummied are older that Europeans
Caucasians are probably older than Indo European race
And mann they're looking like angels
Alternate title "Historical account of Marco Polo's journey through Mongolia | Brief mention of a mummy we have no intent to discuss"
I love historical content, and would have watched anyway if you had just been honest about the title. Leave the Bait and Switch for the trash channels please.
I would have loved to travel the silk road 💯
Bruh match the titles
She must have been stunning in life....wow beautiful even in death for ssooooo long
Taklamakan means „there is a place under“
For a second, I thought Buckhead had a new album drop or something until I read the title.
They look so much like American natives....
because they are pure ANE.
while you Native Americans ANE only in Half, and another part of you is North East Asian
8 minutes of lead up before they get anywhere near talking about the Mummy. She's a beautiful mummy but they don't examine her, there's no investigation into how she died or who she could have been. No examination of grave goods, nada. Just more talk about Marco Polo and the Mongols. ugh.
So this video has about 5 minutes worth of this 3800 year old mummy you speak of in the title. The rest is Marco Polo related. Oh kay.
He’s going to feel stupid when he realizes Marco Polo was fiction.
4:20 🥰💁🏻♀️
Where is episode 1??
this begining looks like saint petersburg russia mate!)))))but its china!
Ah, the time before zero-covid.
She looks like Joanna Lumley! 😳
It was a woman in the start and I thought “oh no” but then I find out that she wasn’t the narrator. Phhhy 😅
Luckily I speak mandarin, so I understood what the gentleman said
Is the Loulan Beauty the same mummy?
shes got gorgeous bone structure 😍
Another adventure of Marco Polo, the main topic is all about Marco Polo not this Mummy Princess who's shown in the photo
Had to double take there. I thought it was Nancy Pelosi!
No you're correct. I'm terribly sorry. The princess clearly has better skin and fuller cheeks.
Lmfao stop it!
@@azstarlovebug5470 hahahaha, you’re right! The mummy is far superior in beauty to Pelosi

‘Oil from the tomb of Jesus’? Mmmmkay…
The mummy is not mongol. She is Caucasian, white. From a people who were wiped out by the Chinese. The chunese write about how they slaughtered 200,000 people and left them for the wild animals to eat. So there is nothing left of their traditions.
Fck china
I think I was married to her in a previous life, ...no wait... it is this life. Nevermind.
Who else come here looking for BUCKET HEAD?
3800 years what ruling dynasty at the time?
I've already looked at and admired the mongol culture and the life of Marco Polo. This is nothing but click bait. If you hadn't falsely advertised it I would have watched this but I'm so disgusted you've ruined it for me!
DNA on mummies?????????
ANE origin
I am unsubscribing from this channel due to the inaccurate titles. I do thank you for a couple years of enjoyed documentaries.
how youd oing?! Yeah. really nice masterpiece.talk you later- dear. =)
????
Damn even in death, she looks like a girl boss! Like if you piss her off she'll slap the soul outta you AND your weave off your head at the same time! But if you're good to her, she'll be good to you. That's the vibe I get.
I don’t get what y’all are complaining about. That was way more interesting than just having mummy face time. Learning about the circumstances is the bread and butter folks.
She could also be called "Eurasian" which is what consider myself to be with a bit more European. My Great Grandma (Gran)was a Russian of Mongolian and Chinese Decent. Due to a lack of written evidence there's no way to be sure, but it's possible that I may be a descendant of The Khan's. When they lost their power, the then Tzar invited them to move to Russia. Gran's Family were White Russian as the last Tzars supporters were known. Her husband/My Great Grandpa was Finnish, they were also White Russians until they realised they were losing. Finland then fought for and gained their independence. Grandma's Family immigrated to Australia during WWI. I'm also of Irish, Scottish, English, German, Hungarian and French decent. But I seem to have inherited my Olive Skin, High Cheekbones and Large Almond Shaped Eyes from that side of the family. From what seen of some modern Mongolians.
That is the result of all mongols invading and mixing with alot of other races hence why alot of Asians are mongol descents and not native to that land eg Kazakhstan etc. Whereas the princess was before that time. Russia mongol wars were in 1700s not 3000yrs ago, princess is Aryan or something not mongol mix which is a different DNA all together... Alot of mongols mixed with also turkic nomads in their army that they are now turkic mongol.. mongols are smart like the white folk of Australia they also infiltrate your blood line. But in saying that alot of mongols are Russian and whatever else due to all the wars to conquer the world.
So you are 12,5% Asian at max. That doesn’t qualify calling yourself Eurasian.
That's really interesting. Definitely more interesting than mine. I've got British on mom and Hispanic with Spain lineage from dad.
A DNA analysis on the mummies on the archeological site was made. The conclusion was: the Steppe hypothesis. Where is this steppe they talk about? Nowadays in Eastern Ukraine/Western Russia(see for reference www. mcbi.nlm.nig.gov)
She looks like Michael Jackson
This is a false information. Xiaohe is a Chinese name, the Kroran Mummy was NOT Chinese.
