    This is the first 'sher' of the Deewan-e-Ghalib, which is a rather tongue-in-cheek compliment to the Almighty, and all those who are His representatives on earth.
    Has great contemporary relevance.

    Sir, you’re the first person to provide such a good interpretation of this sher by Ghalib.. There are only a few people like you who can understand his shers well. Thanks a lot for this explanation.
    OTH... I truly believe, that being in such a pain in life as Ghalib had been in his life he somehow managed to know the reality of this world and beyond which is indicated in many of his shers as well. Some examples follow :
    1. Jab Ki tujh bin nahi koi maujood,
    Phir yeh hungama ae khudaa kya hai ?
    2. Usse kon dekh sakta Ki yagaana hain woh yaktaa,
    jo dooi Ki boo bhi hoti toh kahin do chaar hota !

    Very nice, superb. Often when we listen sher we don't understand real meaning, thank you for the deep thought in sher, last narration is life lesson

    No. Ghalib is not talking about GOD or almighty CREATOR. Ghalib is praising himself , praising his DEEWAN, and praising his poetry. He is saying ----- DEEWAN is crying about the greatness/playfulness of poetic verses. And all the poetic couplets are " wearing paper clothes" ( all poetic verses are written on paper!! ). GHALIB is saying this in playful words---- all poetic vereses are wearing paper clothes( written on paper) , and are crying about the playfulness of the poetic words!! GHALIB is praising himself---- his paper-dressed( paper written) poetic verses/couplets!! That is very simple interpretation of this first poetic couplet of his DEEWAN

    Listening to this poetic verse, first shair, matla------this interpretation is not correct. First poetic verse has simple ,but playful verbal meaning. GHALIB is not praising GOD at all. Heck,it is so simple and playful meaning ----- praising his DEWAN and his poetry. He is saying ---- that his DEWAN is "crying" ( FARYAD) about the playfulness of words--- poetic words, wearing paper clothes ( written on paper!! ) , are crying ( faryad) about playfulness of poetic words. YES ---- wearing paper clothes , is becoming FARYADEE about playfulness of these words ( wearing paper dress ,and faryading about playfulness of his words!! ). DEWAN FARYADEE HAIY KIS-KEE SHOKHEY-E-TAHREER KAW. KAGH-ZEE HAIY PAIHARAN DEWAN KAY HUR SHAIR KAW.
