Designs Coming to Life | Project Engineer Jose Maldonado

Jose Maldonado joined Royal Electric as project engineering intern during the summer of 2023. A referral by a current employee prompted him to learn more about the company at Sacramento State University’s career fair. After meeting recruiters Courtney Davis and Everly Torres and discovering Royal’s exciting design build projects, he decided to explore a future with us. Jose was inspired by his dad, a mechanical engineer, to pursue a similar career path, beginning with a program offered by his high school. This engineering program provided him the opportunity to study circuits and to build a small light seeking coding robot. After high school Jose did some maintenance work, getting his first exposure to construction work with framing and flooring. He later worked alongside an electrical engineer, learning how to design and install items for small electrical jobs. Jose is currently studying electrical engineering at California State University, Sacramento with a minor in mathematics.
