Do you have a lathe? The arms are sopposed to be round with a shoulder where the skein passes over. Look in our photos and videos at Texas Trebuchet. Lots of things not really right going in here, but you made one, so cool. Now set this one to the side and build a better one. I really didn't know anything when I built our first one, but researched along the way and was guided by an expert, Murray Hill.
Yeah this was really low time-commitment and low-budget, and it shows. I'm not sure when I will get a chance to do another one for real. There are a more than a dozen things that I could have done better. Are the arms really supposed to be round? Or would you want them kind of diamond shaped to match the void in the skeins?

@@MedievalTrebuchet yes round for historically accurate' but you're not taking the shoulders into account.
