We leave for Vietnam on Jan 17th. This video makes me want to leave sooner lol, love love love Vietnam, the people the food the climate, and overall sheer beauty of the country, so happy to be going back again.... We will retire here in the very near future :)
@@Macoi24 We have done the south pretty much so, train from Ho Chi Minh to Nha Trang for 3 days, then train to Da Nang (which is where we will retire) for 6 days, then to Hanoi for 14 days, sapa, halong bay and all the good stuff. I can taste the food already! Love Vietnam :) Have a nice day hun.
Noreen Mc, when you travel to Hanoi you must take the opportunity to go to Ninh Binh, which is a province a couple of hours drive from Hanoi, to visit TRANG AN, a not so well-known tourist attraction spot yet. Similar to Halong bay, but in a river setting, unlike Halong, it is on a smaller scale, the scenery is spectacular, you will be travelling in a small rowing boat by some local woman, meandering along the mountains, into some caves, it feels like paradise. Don't forget to bring your video camera. Enquire at your hotel in Hanoi, they have brochures advertising TRANG AN along with informations about guided tours there. We travel to Hanoi last year from Australia, and thanks to some TV travel show we saw a clip on Ninh Binh, and became aware of TRANG AN. It was the highlight of our trip to Vietnam last year, more so than Halong Bay ! The tour included bus to and from the hotel, your tour guide, lunch at an eatery (quite good), and the boat trip (cost included in the tour fee, but you may like to tip the boat rower a few dollars for her labor, as I understand they don't get much for a wage). Have a nice trip !
Noreen Mc as the comment below mentioned about Ning Binh province. Trang An is great!!!! And If you are up for a little bit of stairway, please visit Hang Mua as well (only 10-15 minutes from Trang An. Just look it up and you will know why its a must.
Still remember when i was in VN highshool ! Dad bought me a grill pork chop with rice or sticky rice , pho , sticky rice noodles every morning ! Now im in Australia and still missing that childhood!
Vietnam has one of the best foods the world has to offer!! its so fresh and flavourful! there is not one dish that doesn't have a punch of flavours. I must say I'm a proud Vietnamese
You are very open minded. You respect foods and enjoy them. That's so beautiful when I think about people who waste food around. Love to see your videos. Thank you so much.
Hi max Wow.... I'm blown away by your videos. I'm saving and planning a trip to Vietnam because of you. I wanna try all the food and visit all the places. Many many thanks...
You really know how to eat like a Vietnamese. Bun thit nuong Chi Tuyen, Bun bo hue Chu Ha and Com tam Ba Ghien are all my favorite places!! Love your vlog 🔥
I'm local and I'm like wow by the big amount of chilli you added in the bun thit nuong (the first dish) and you were still fine eating it haha usually Westerners or even many locals can't stand that much of chilli. I'm also impressed that you could enjoy all kind of sauces there because some have very strong smell for foreigners. Watching your video makes me so hungry haha good job!
Just FYI for some people that said something about “ We do have Mcdonald’s in Vietnam”. Yes, we do and he didn’t mean we don’t have Mcdonald’s. He just meant that Mcdonald’s is gonna have a hard time to stay in business here in VietNam ‘cause our own traditional food is already super good and delicious! 😊
Most of our online community is kinda bad at getting the meaning of the title since they just don't watch the whole video and end up giving out stupid conclusion
This is a high-quality, must-sub vlog with a great personality of a host. Superb content and jam-packed scenes with excellent editing and recordings. Subbed! Nevermind the cute mispronunciations from this (clearly) southern guy Max.
Keith Masumoto hahaha mispronunciations we’re definitely made😂 wow, loving your comment so much! Thank you but most importantly, welcome to the family👌🏻🙌🏻
Bun thit nuong + cha gio is my favourite dish, I can eat it everyday. People put the fish sauce in the bowl and mix the noodle and veggies. I love spring rolls
OMGGG, you're video is makin' me so hungry and realized I am missing so much of the streetfood here. Great I still got a few days left here in Vietnam, I gotta hunt all those lovely food you featured, my oh my!!!
Mcdonalds and Burger King can't attract eaters/vietnamese people because they don' adjust their menu to suit Vietnamese's people taste bud. KFC adds rice and soup to their menu, and kids and adults love it. Same for Jollybee. Thats why KFC n Jollybee can survive in Vietnam for so long.
Jeremy N you make very point! It’s an interesting topic Forsure. It’s always fun to see what different fast food chains have to offer around the world!
Really? I don't think so, me and my friends and even my parents never had soup or rice when we ate out at KFC, jolleybee or lotte. The only reason Mc Donald can't succeed in Vietnam is that their food tastes worst yet pricier than that of all the fast food brands above.
from what i remeber when i was young, KFC has rice and gravy and a piece of chicken with a bowl of broth or soup. Not really sure about Jollybee. But yes, I gotta agree with you about the pricing of Mcdonalds and Burger King. Not suitable with the Vietnamese people budget
I mean although they have rice and soup in their menu, Vietnamese rarely order them because whenever Vietnamese go to a fast food restaurant the first thing pops up in their mind is Fried chicken and that will be what 80% of Vietnamese order. So I think It's not true when you say rice and soup are the saviours of KFC or Jolleybee. ( you are still living here or have moved to another country for a long time? )
I've moved to the States since 2012. I didn't say rice and soup is KFC n Jollybee's saviours. I mean the way they adjust their menu to suit with vietnamese taste bud is their saviors.
Bun bo Hue has a lot of lemon grass, chillies, lemon. That rectangular white piece is minced pork loaf, wrapped in banana leaves and steamed. The piece of thing with orange colour is called “cha cua” which is crab loaf (the one with pepper corns).
It’s such a huge sin to eat Vietnamese food without the garnishes and sauces. It might be optional for some of the more western dishes, but I was so happy to see you load up your bun bo hue bowl with the veggies and sauce (I use mam tom instead of fish sauce for the extra saltiness in bun bo hue - but you do you!). Looking forward to the next video regardless of where you are!
They have KFC though, on first few visits, I was just eating at KFC. BUt when I got more comfortable with local people, I got to enjoy the great Vietnamese cuisine, which is world class.
I subscribed because the way you talk is so addicted, I like your style, however, I’m a VNese so I find this video is really good. I feel happy 😊 thanks a lot for come to Viet Nam, I wish you all the best, keep smiling ❤️

My favorite food in Vietnam is Bun cha. I can eat it all daaaayyy. My fiancee fav food in VN is pho. He literally ate pho every single time in VN. Our favorite pho in Vietnam was at small family restaurant in Da Nang, we found it when we were en route to Hoi An. We did not expect anything, we were just very hungry, but boy oh boy. It was daaamm good. After tried so many pho in HCM, Hanoi, etc..we always craved the pho we ate in Da Nang. Our favorite snack is particular snack we found when we wandered around Can Tho. I think its called Banh Xeo. We were sceptical when the first time we saw, but the curiosity got into us and boy was it sooo good. We came back to buy 6 more to both of us. And we ate it everyday when we were in Can Tho. I love Vietnamnese food! Oh and the coffee!!
Thank you for coming to visit Vietnam. Hope you will taste more dishes in Hanoi as well. And it is "Bún thịt nướng" that you spoke about the 1st food spot, it is one of great dishes, my favorite also

We leave for Vietnam on Jan 17th. This video makes me want to leave sooner lol, love love love Vietnam, the people the food the climate, and overall sheer beauty of the country, so happy to be going back again.... We will retire here in the very near future :)
Noreen Mc so happy for you! Not only for getting to go back but for the retirement👌🏻 what part will you visit this time?
@@Macoi24 We have done the south pretty much so, train from Ho Chi Minh to Nha Trang for 3 days, then train to Da Nang (which is where we will retire) for 6 days, then to Hanoi for 14 days, sapa, halong bay and all the good stuff. I can taste the food already! Love Vietnam :) Have a nice day hun.
Noreen Mc wow, such an amazing trip! Enjoy and again congrats 🙌🏻

Sam Lee heyyyyy! Thanks for the awesome comment! Chili is life to me! My face definitely turned red though😂 glad to always see a local approve🙌🏻👌🏻

🙏🙌
Most of our online community is kinda bad at getting the meaning of the title since they just don't watch the whole video and end up giving out stupid conclusion
It also cheaper than Mcdonald :))))
McDonald's just too f*cking expensive, street food are just cheap 👌👌👌👌👌
Wow the difference in your knowledge from this to now is amazing
Vietnamese foods is the best 😋🤪. I just look the way you eat. Very sacrifices to watch.

You're the first westerner I have seen really really enjoy the pungent flavors of vietnamese food.
Fun fact, the lady at 2:00 says “my face is pretty why don’t you film that instead of the dish?”
MATTIA CALLIAN xD
How can you know it? 😂😂
That was exactly what she said!! 😅
I know I’m viet and was laughing! :)

Bun bo Hue has a lot of lemon grass, chillies, lemon. That rectangular white piece is minced pork loaf, wrapped in banana leaves and steamed. The piece of thing with orange colour is called “cha cua” which is crab loaf (the one with pepper corns).
The lady at 1:53 is funny. She said, " My face is pretty, yet you don't film me but you kept filming the bowl."

Thanks for loving our beautiful and peaceful country. Vietnamese food’s so amazing...🇻🇳
Thank you for coming to Vietnam🤤🤤🤤😻

Oh and the coffee!!
wow, what a great story about your time in VN! Yes, Banh xeo is soooo good! They are huge in Saigon!
Thank you for coming to visit Vietnam. Hope you will taste more dishes in Hanoi as well.
