Rejoice

I wrote this song back in 2017 for the album "True Story", the final of four in an album cycle I call "The Crux Project". You can find out more about it here: www.seekingide...
This song was the final song on that album, and it felt very poignant to this time. It talks about rejoicing, even through difficulty, even through suffering, even through trials and pain. It's based around two passages from the Bible; Habakkuk 3:17-19, and Philippians 4:4. I've pasted them below. I hope you enjoy.
17Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,
and there are no grapes on the vines;
even though the olive crop fails,
and the fields lie empty and barren;
even though the flocks die in the fields,
and the cattle barns are empty,
18yet I will rejoice in the LORD!
I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!
19The Sovereign LORD is my strength!
He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
able to tread upon the heights.
