I doubt I have a fraction of the wisdom of the men at G3, but I hope I can at least point you to a scripture that may answer your question. In John 15:7, it seems to me that Jesus is teaching that our prayers must come out of the abiding word in us. So to attempt to answer your question, I would say the word is to prayer what a foundation is to a house. I hope that somewhat answers your question, brother.
