Asgore theme has so much weight being the culmination of the whole journey where nobody is truly changed. Musically is very complicated to make lyrics for. It's one of those, you either make it lame or make it epic. Yours is beyond epic.

It's a hard song to make lyrics for, but you did a great job. Asgore is often only depicted as a coward or an irredeemable villain, but you found a nice balance. My only suggestion is that the ending part of the song could have been longer to give the singer more time to express themselves. 0.75 sounds wonderful.

Wow Candaru! You have such a big vocal range! I’m impressed! Nah, just kidding. Everyone did a great job here, from the art to the lyrics to the singing. Great job to everyone involved!
It's neat how at 2:06 he says "my best friend" maybe hinting at an Undertale Rudy who died because from what I know of no other character was described as a best friend to him that died.
I love this take on Asgore! He is usually depicted as wanting to spare the human and thinking it's the right thing to do, but being too afraid of the consequences to do such a thing. But here it's the opposite; he wants to kill the human and thinks that's the right thing to do, but is desperately afraid of doing so and killing yet another child and so his heart isn't in it and he loses Great work!
I. I. I don't have the Words needed to express how imaculate these lyrics are. I'm not even sure such words Exist. The Meaning, The Vocals, THE VOICE ACTING AND EMOTION. And "My Best Friend"? The Attention to Detail. _heuh?_
… Goodbye Goodbye, child of man Goodbye, I’m sorry fallen child I’m sorry child, but this is goodbye … I’m … Goodbye Is there anything you want to do first?
Not only is the voice very fitting but this is literally the best lyrical Asgore cover! I'm so glad Undertale is still getting people inspired - so so lucky I've found this version, keep up the good work :)
Asgore is my favorite character, and when I saw the video, I will be honest, I thought there would be stupid lyrics cuz there are so few views. But this is so good. You deserve more attention :) Edit after a year: I still love how almost all lyrics rhyme!
I love these lyrics because they show Asgore entire character. He’s built up as the final boss who will murder you, but also a huge softy, and he’s kinda both. He wants to be able to take care of and love frisk like he did for Chara, he wants to do the same for the children he murdered previously, but he knows he can’t. His entire kingdom, all of the monsters are depending on him, which isn’t really fair on anyone. If he fails, they’ll all hate him. If he succeeds, he’ll eternally hate himself. For him, he sees no way out other than to be killed. I highly doubt he’s giving Frisk his all, in fact I think he’s holding back all his cool moves in the fight. The first two maybe three humans, yeah he probably went full force, throwing his spear as he lit it aflame, grabbing them and snuffing them out under his grip. Throwing them around like Sans did, except with his brute strength and not blue soul magic. With frisk though, he just wants it to be over, but doesn’t have the ruthlessness in him anymore. He probably didn’t even want another human to ever fall, he probably hoped they wouldn’t. But now, the last one is here, and he has to fight a battle he knows will spell the fate of all his kind, and yet, he doesn’t just brutally beat down on frisk with everything he has with ruthless agression. He destroys the mercy button, not to make sure Frisk can’t run, but to make sure that this ends the way he wants it to. He doesn’t want to live anymore, knowing what he’s done. I also imagine the souls are still conscious and watching, and while they probably hate him, I’d say a few probably feel for him. I imagine he talks to them, even if they don’t have the ability to talk back. I like to think he just talks about his day to them, maybe even cries and apologizes. Tells them about all the different flowers he loves, maybe about Toriel, not knowing they all met her. Yes, they likely despise him for killing them, but I’d imagine they understand as he’s likely told them all why he needed to do this, or they found out for themselves. This is why I think that if the Genocide fight HAD happened at the barrier, when you the slash on Asgore happens, the souls would likely help as they see that whatever Chara/Frisk has become is far more malevolent and dangerous than Asgore ever could be.
He was literally the biggest boss in the game (excluding the no mercy route, but it would ruin Asgore’s personality for them to absorb the souls to fight you)

Thank you so much! I agree wholeheartedly :)
I like the implications of Frisk reminding him of one of Chara, making it even harder to try killing them than it already was

Yes
Indeed. Asgore is very underrated. GIVE HIM MORE ATTENTION
Asgore gets absolutely no simpathy from the fandom
Then there’s flowey
Agreed everyone!
This is genuinely so good. You can even hear the sadness in asgore's voice, since he dosnt want to fight the human.
This is by far the best cover of Asgore that I have seen. Like so much character depth.
Look at undertale the musical then

Beautiful
"your to much like them" is he talking about how frisk reminds him of Asriel or chara?
Chara! “Looking so alike” and “So ready to fall” are the key lyrics. ^_^
most covers have lyrics more ham fisted than a deli, but i like this one
First undertale cover that filled me with DETERMINATION
Holy s**T it’s better at 1.25

Asgore sounds like plankton
It would’ve been cool if we got an Asgore full power fight in the Genocide route
His best friend does he mean the former royal scientist?
No, he's talking about Rudy, who passed from illness.
@@candaru_driemor Rudy? OH
Was he referring to Gaster as his best friend? Because I’m pretty sure that Rudy died after after Toriel left him?
Nah, he's talking about Rudy. He doesn't sing about his losses in order (actually, they're in reverse order). Good catch, though!
can I use the lyrics in a vid and give you credit?
