Japanese trains must be perfection, especially the Sinkansen. I often heard of the JR policy of being on time. In Germany, you can only dream of this, even if the technical standard is good as well.
As I had said elsewhere, the 500 is the most beautiful HSR vehicle ever built. And the beauty is more than skin deep, as the 500 marked the greatest improvement in HSR vehicle design since the original 100. Everything since looks like it, world wide. I think of the 500 as the 707 of trains.

I just wanted to say that here in Britain the very old hobby of 'trainspotting' is followed by people who are mainly interested in collecting the numbers of specific engines/trains running on particular routes, noting how certain models are employed, how long they've been in service, what rolling stock is in use, and correlating these often quite complicated findings with their technical knowledge of timetables and national railway infrastructure... But in Japan a lot of people 'spot' trains simply because they're just so very beautiful! :-)

+Adimas Guntur i dont think JR Pass cover for this ride. But you can check on the jrpass website. Initially JR Pass wont cover the fastest shinkansen but it will cover second and lower. It might be the same look train but it stops more than the fastest
Google said China has an operating speed of 350 km/h on their bullet train, this train operates at 300 km/h. For a minute there i thought the 500 stood for its speed.

I rode this train once by accident--stepped on it when I thought I was taking a faster train! The decor is striking, to be sure--but I did not know what it meant at the time.

日本の電車の形や色合いとかイギリスに比べると足元にも及ばないレベルだけど、この新幹線は外人のデザインした形で尚且つ塗装がEVAでとてもカラフルです。日本の電車としてはとても良い仕上がりになっていると思います。
