I remember when jouvert was about dancing. All I see is people walking around. The last jouvert I went to was 20 years ago so I guess things have changed. I’m thankful that I got a glimpse though.
20 years ago there wasn't Facebook and other social media for people to post videos of other people, then having others criticize what you are wearing, how you are dancing, etc. How many likes you get or negativity from other members of said social media, including RUclips. So some people stand on the side, watching, after being torn apart in the past on social media, even though they want to participate, which is unfortunate.
Im so happy to see people dancing in the streets and soaking up that sun and vitamin d!
