As a Gold Star Wife, I thank you from the deepest recesses of my heart. I am often discouraged by well meaning citizens and businesses that use Memorial Day as a time to commemorate living service-members and veterans. While we should thank these people every single day for what they do, I hope more people understand after seeing your PSA that people like my husband signed a blank check with their lives ultimately being the cost of that freedom and sense of security. Thank you for airing this on mainstream TV.
I was watching Private Ryan one day and my 8 year old and and five year old starting watching. Beach landing where kid gets hit in helmet and takes it off to look and is then shot in the head. Couple days later I was getting dressed and my five year old son asked me if I was going to war. I said no knuckle head why you asking. He then said because dad I was going to tell you not to take your helmet off... I want my kids to know, many have died for the life you now enjoy, never forget it....
