MAPPA _really_ nailed that Rumbling vs Worlds Fleet scene, especially with playing 'Wmid' for that reference to the first episode when the Warriors attacked the island, and Eren was traumatized by the titans breaking through and eating his mom. Love how this series started with the utter fear of the huge, almost godly colossal titan looking down upon Eren and the rest of Paradis, and then now its thousands of those same titans, completely obliterating the full military might of the whole world, as the remaining soldiers can only look on in hopeless fear and terror before being stomped on themselves.
Yeah I was wondering which ost they are going to use, I thought Vogel Im kafig would be a great choice but Wmid turned out to be perfect for this scene, I really liked the ost usage. Also I was concerned about the color palette for this scene, I was so surprised when I saw my favorite AOT S4 color pallette in this scene, the background shots look beautiful
Also Eren literally dwarfs the Colossals now, which is nice symbolism considering how he and everyone looked up at the Colossal in utter terror in the beginning.
This episode is seriously one of the best in the series. I have rewatched the rumbling scene in this episode so many times because of how incredible it was. The amazing CG, those new Sawano and Yamamoto tracks that I’m DYING to get my hands on in June, the animation and direction for everything, and the killer compositing upgrade with the brilliant new colors Mappa is using. Truly a top episode in the entire series, Mappa getting AOT is the best timeline after all.
I still prefer WIT overall and mainly they did ODM scenes perfectly but Mappa is setting the dark tone of the show and doing a really good job. I think season 4 having a different style is perfect
as an anime only enjoyer, that shot of eren on hannes' back as he is carried away was haunting and definitely one of my favourite single frames in the entire anime as it so perfectly encapsulates eren's feelings in that moment.
You should do the past AOT episodes too, atleast the leftover S4 PART 2 episodes that you haven't covered on this channel yet. Also, please make sure to do the comparison videos for all of Final Season Part 3 next year from the get go. ✌🏻

It was also her last chance to tell him before anything major happened, so she regrets not letting him know and is later thinking how things could've been very different.

Agreed. But you should know that the anime is the latest product of the show since Isayama himself is telling them what he wants to add or remove (as far as I'm aware this was starting from season 3 part 1 with the changes from the manga)

It was used in a post credit scene in "the basement" episode (the first time ever we see a city beyond the walls). Plus, I believe this theme to be connected to the main themes of AOT: freedom and dream. So, I hope they will use it [thanksAT] in a certain scene in the next episode. It will fit perfectly, since there is a connection to this episode via the remix. And it's my favorite music theme in the show

At first I was disappointed that they cut the Marley Flashback from episode 21, but after seeing the last episode, I like how they decided to reposition it, makes it more jarring when we see the rumbling strike the allied forces at the end of the episode 👌 I would love to see videos of older episodes. Imo the only way I’ll be okay with having to wait another year for part 3 is if Mappa goes all out with the budget and animation since there’s not even that much left. I'm talking jjk or episode 85 level all the way through
consistently through out part 3? not happening lol... JJK had a good schedule and time that assured the quality season 1 was. AOT doesn't... 1 year isn't enough. AOT is strenuosly more difficult to animate than JJK.
I personally don't really know of a series that I think you should cover this season (besides SPYxFAMILY, if it does end up becoming as amazing as the manga sells scream that it is) so maybe it is a good idea to look back at notable AOT and/or DS episodes and cover them for the time being. Either way, I'm just looking forward to whatever you cover next. Regarding the episode, I'm sure anime onlys lost it when they realized that they have to wait a year for more after this banger of an ending scene, but I'm just glad MAPPA managed to make it as good as they did.

I've been thoroughly enjoying the manga/anime comparison videos, especially since I used to watch foxsen anime and he decided to stop doing this kind of video. I would very much like if you did this for next year's episodes as well.
I'm expecting nothing less than Demon Slayer tier animation for part 3. MAPPA have the most time they've ever had to animate the least they've ever had (When it comes to AOT of course). Only 8 episodes worth of content left and the show won't resume until next year. Fingers crossed they blow our minds and fully salvage themselves.
it depends on the official release date though, so we shouldn't get hyped, because we don't know exactly know when it will air, fall? winter? spring? summer? even if mappa has 1 year for 8 episodes, these 9 chapters are insanely hard to animate. so unless part 3 comes out mid or late 2023, you shouldn't be expecting demon slayer level
Excellent video as always. Mappa absolutely knocked this out of the part, save for a few graphical anomalies. My only gripe, and its a personal one, is that the ost/bgm "drops" at the end when the Titans survive the barrage and stand up feels like it is slightly off-sync with the visual reveals.
I'd like to see you cover the one punch man series, the manga drawn by yusuke murata is truly stuning and the difference in production and quality between season 1 and 2 is quite the thing.
