So nice mate in a couple of years with the Share Market permitting I intend on commissioning the painting a table complete with a Roman Legion as a piece of art.. Great job mate hope your eyes haven’t suffered to much painting them ..
Fabulous looking legions, Ken. Top notch 👍. The size difference between GB and Victrix is really noticeable when you compare figures side by side, but surprising how little it shows at the army level, on the table.
This is great.... my next army which is on the way. Great to see how you've done yours and some great ideas for recognizing the different units. Shame about the scale difference... iv gone for aventine and Warlord cavalry... the victrix are just a bit too big for my tastes. Well done, amazing work!
Cheers Andy, a great army to put together, sadly under used. The only Victrix Cavalry I used were for the Command Bases of the Italian Legion, the Italian Cavalry are Aventine, the Romans are Gripping Beast 👍
Fantastic looking army and looking forward to seeing them in a big battle report. Off topic I am now a convert to Pro Arte paint brushes, much better than the GW ones I was using and brilliant value.
Hi mate, I am still waiting for a chance to play them with other people, I have high hopes. Basing wise, I have stuck to a 60 x 60 base. Similar to old WRG 8 figs for Heavy Infantry, 6 for Medium, in two ranks. I have double ranked these just to save on the number of bases I need to move, plus I think they look better. Skirmish I have gone 60 x 30 with 2 on a base. Cavalry still 60 x 60 all 3 to a base unless skirmish which will be 2. Not specifically for MeG but general enough that i dont need to rebase if I change my mind Cheers, Ken
Great vid, love your stuff on instagram aswell. Just started into SPQR and going with Gauls. Been trying to find some chariots for them, and there is a lot of them out there. Any particular makers you'd recommend dude?
Hi Nat, firstly many thanks and welcome to Yarkshire Gamer 👍 I have a small Gallic force that I haven't worked on for a long time. I have first hand experience of three, Mine are Gripping Beast, really nice models with lots of detail, quite old sculpts now. Warlord, bought but not built. Super models, poses a bit Hollywood but very good. Wargames Factory, I don't know if they have been updated but the ones I have are dreadful one of the few figures I have just thrown in the bin. There will no doubt be more that have come out since I looked. Hope you find some good ones 😁
Personally, I think it makes a unit look more realistic if figures of slightly different sizes are used. Unlike Chinese military parade units you are unlikely to find single Army unit that are all exactly the same height.
@mike5d1 it would be an interesting small scale (in terms of numbers of figures) project but I wouldn't like to attempt it on this scale. Whilst I get people are different shapes and sizes the weapons aren't so I would have to choose one or the other in terms of pila, shield etc which would leave me with a bucket full of unused stuff, especially if I went with more than two manufacturers, yes I could try and form them into another unit but it's a lot of mucking about 👍
They look great. Thanks, I've gotten some great ideas for my project from this!
@busydad_painting great to hear 👍
This is a lovely looking set of models, all the best, Garry
Many thanks Gary 👍
A spectacular and gorgeous parade, superb Romans!!
Many thanks Phil 👍

Many thanks, the difference between the Infantry is there but not as noticeable as that with the Cavalry, which as you can see is massive !

Very nice half army ;) . So tempted by 25mm ancients mine are all 15mm but numerous.
I'll get round to the rest of them eventually 😀
Amazing looking army. Wow can not believe that size difference between GB and Victrix.
Many thanks, huge isn't it, supposed to be the same scale !
Very impressive. 👍
Many thanks 👍
I really like this new direction for Last of the Summer Wine!
Many thanks, what else could I use fot an intro 😄
@@YarkshireGamer Also, In my eagerness to make a joke I forgot to add that these look fantastic, all of your work is hugely inspiring.
Many thanks for your kind words 👍

Many thanks Aled, Im converting the world to Pro Arte one at a time 👍😃
I read somewhere that you settled on using Mortem et Glorium Ken? I wondered what size bases you had settled on for your 28mm Repo Romans?

Wow!!
Many thanks 👍
they look great , may i ask what rules you use?
@glenbrooks2269 still trying to find a set I enjoy, Big hopes for Dave Brown's Ancient rules if they make it to print 👍
@@YarkshireGamer I know Victrix has a set being tested , I do like Armati

They are, white Legion Victrix, Red Gripping Beast
Yes, but what I meant was mix the 2 sizes on the same unit stands.

What bases do you use? They look very sleek and low profile.
2mm MDF from Warbases 👍
