For anyone following this tutorial still, using a round node instead of a floor node completely solves the off center problem, so you don't have to fudge the numbers and guess what looks right.
So handsome dude haha, haha. I'm glad you showed yourself, more connection with the audience. This is by far my favourite unity VFX channel on youtube!
THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!! Now i dont have to do anyuthing with my textures so all of my texture and player textures can be pixelated to wahtever amount i want!!!! Thank you G.A.P you have saved my project way too many times man godbless you all.
Damn, amazing tutorial. +1 sub. Btw, why not posterise the UV instead of floor it? Also, im 96% sure that you are Portuguese from Portugal. That accent sounds way too Portuguese, i cant tell why but yeah. Let me know if I'm right 😂.
You are totally 100% right PT PT :D No particular reason, if I remember correctly it was working well with floor so I just kept on working on the rest of the tutorial. Força 🙌
Hey, don't know if you figured it out yet, but Unity uses three different rendered Pipelines. In this tutorial, he uses URP (Universal Rendered Pipeline). You may have your Unity build set to the default renderer or HDRP (High Definition Render Pipeline). To change this, you can try to change your shader by heading to Project Settings < Graphics < Scriptable Render Pipeline Settings, clicking, and change the graphics to URP. To learn more about this and to change your scene entirely, I recommend watching "How to fix Pink Materials in Unity" by UGuruz. Hope this helps and keep on developing 😊

I absolutely LOVE your videos! I wanted to try vfx but had no idea where to start or what to do and so I watched one and was hooked lmao! I was wondering though how you got your unity background like that? Mine is still the default one and I would really like to get one more similar to yours
That's awesome! Well not sure if this what you are asking for but, in the top right-corner you have Layouts, I use the 2 by 3 layout with the Project window below Hierarchy and with only one column.
@@GabrielAguiarProd Yes! this is part of it was also wondering how you got the skybox and scene to look like how you have it. It's dark enough to see the vfx but you can also see the shadow under it and the skybox isnt the default bight sky...i hope this makes sense. Also thank you so much for getting back to me!
@@GabrielAguiarProd Hey thanks for the Help, when I attach the shader to my output in Graph the textures become transparent and you can barely see them
ty man for tutorial it was useful for me can you make a video to explain how use custom data in particle system in custom shader for example change dissolve amount of shader
Hi there, insanely good and informative tutorial! I have an issue, where the pixels from my shader are wider than their height (rectangular), any idea what can cause this? I believe I followed your tutorial step by step, so this issue is kinda confusing me. Thank you for your time.
Hmmm from the top of my head I can imagine that the Tiling could influence that. If the texture isn't a square maybe it can cause that too. Not sure just thinking out loud.
@@GabrielAguiarProd Thanks for your answer! I played around with the settings a bit more and found out that my pixels weren't square because of the aspect ratio. Tried adding a renderTexture to the Texture2D in the shader graph with a size of 160x90, however that does nothing unfortunately.
Hi, thanks for the tutorial. Usually, the particle effect already has a material like in your portal tutorial or anything that is made using a shader graph. So how I can convert them into a pixel effect? Or this method only works on pure particle system VFX? I guess it does not work on the VFX that are made with a combination of shader graph+ Shuriken?
I have a bit of an issue I'm not sure how to fix, when I plug n my tilling and offset into the textures UV my texture seem to disappear? the color alpha is up and the split is also connected idk what's the problem?
I tried to use this shader inside a VFX Graph particle effect. unfortunally it dosen't work with the Output Particle Quad. any tips? thank you for the tutorial!
hey bro can i have some help? i want to know how to place a circle on a sphere in shader graph. this is because i need to make an object which mimics an eye, the circle being the pupil. i need the circle to be adjustable. so thats why i am opting to make this in shader graph as opposed to blender
You can still do the changes we do later but inside the shader. The 'allow material override' is only so you can edit the surface options of the shader in the inspector, nothing more. Which means you can still edit the shader in shader graph.
I'm following your tutorial. everything is working like this video. but at last part when I split alpha channel not only background but also full sprite disappear. And in editor view I saw particle emitting but no sprite full transparent.
@@praychen7150 But I have solved the problem. at first like this video, I took a color node. In my case its alpha value was zero. By making its alpha value to 1 solved my problem.

Combine the 2 in the thumbnail and to make a bigger purple one
Does it also work by just scaling the texture to a really small size?
