Confirmation is a sacrament received by Roman Catholic children usually in the last year of school. Long mass and the kids receive a card to mark it,with money inside. Can be a lovely family event and the kids are rolling in the money but with current restrictions they are rescheduled mass with few family members only at the mass. My nephew said I could post on a cheque to him! Hope that explains it a bit
A sponsor usually the child"s Godparent is involved in the ceremony. The Child also takes a saint name. Usually the bishop says the mass, it's a huge event & everyone gets dressed up & families either go out for dinner or have a meal at home with all their relatives & friends.
