Thank you so much for the info. You literally explained everything I’m going through with the stitch looking like a pimple at first. Glad to know there’s nothing to worry about. Thank you

I wish someone had explained this to me before or after my surgery, it would have saved me so much anxiety. 6 months out now and the split stitch was absorbed a month or 2 ago

Can you elaborate on why sutures spit, or what increases the likely-hood?

hi doc. I have 3weeks post-op Breast Augmentation, and i feel something sharp on my scar stitches. Is this might be a possible case of spitting suture?

I am actually 2 months post partum..internal sutures pop out in the surface slightly.. is it necessary to remove the sutures or it dissolves automatically ? Pls reply

my stitch is open a bit on up and down. Than the white stitch hang out so I cut it, I cannot pull it coz it bleeds. I am worried if it doesn't dissolve and than it gets bulky. Untill now there is opening that doesn;t close so i have to keep using antibiotic ointment. It's scary coz it's on my nose.

Do you literally pull it all out ? Or do you pull on it and then cut the stitch ?

Pull it all out. I am dealing with this currently (with my surgeon) and you definitely want to pull out as much suture as you can. I am 3months post-op from deep plane face lift and still dealing with puss and swelling where I thought the sutures came out already.
I’m going to ask my doctor to open up my entire scar line and remove all the sutures. I can’t take it anymore.

@@RealAdvocateForLiberty Omg I hope you feel better ! I went to my primary care doctor to pull out the splitting stitches and I wish I had done it sooner because now I have a scar where it split. He pulled it the most he could then snipped it. I had about three .
Hope you feel much better ☹️💗💗💗
