ISAIAH 53 written around 600 to 800 BC
1 Who has believed our message?
To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm?
2 My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot,
like a root in dry ground.
There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance,
nothing to attract us to him.
3 He was despised and rejected-
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care.
    4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
it was our sorrows that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for his own sins!
5 But he was pierced for our rebellion,
    crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the Lord laid on him
    the sins of us all.
7 He was oppressed and treated harshly,
yet he never said a word.
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.
And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,
he did not open his mouth.
    8 Unjustly condemned,
    he was led away.
No one cared that he died without descendants,
that his life was cut short in midstream.
    But he was struck down
for the rebellion of my people.
9 He had done no wrong
    and had never deceived anyone.
    But he was buried like a criminal;
he was put in a rich man’s grave.
10 But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him
    and cause him grief.
Yet when his life is made an offering for sin,
    he will have many descendants.
He will enjoy a long life,
and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands.
11 When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish,
    he will be satisfied.
    And because of his experience,
my righteous servant will make it possible
for many to be counted righteous,
for he will bear all their sins.
12 I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier,
because he exposed himself to death.
He was counted among the rebels.
He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.

There is a description of the Temple services in the book of Sirach, chapter 50, that can help Jews understand and grieve the loss of the Temple, even though it's been such a long time.
It describes the beautiful event of one of the greatest high priests (Zadokim/Sadducees) that the Jews ever had (Simon son of Onias) coming out of the inner sanctuary on Yom Kippur to pronounce the blessing of the divine name.
The text draws you in and places you in a moment from long ago. It's a long and beautiful chapter. Every Jew ought to read it to help him or her remember.
"The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it."

That's a good message. I think there is a huge disconnect between the identity of the Elohiym and the Eternal Supreme Father within all scriptures. The most horrifying reality is that more often than not the Elohiym are being praised and worshipped in place of the Eternal Supreme Father. This is done wittingly amongst a few but unwittingly amoungst most. There is individuals who absolutely know who is who. But they don't come forward to enlightened the rest. And that is wrong. It's also vital to understand that the word temple doesn't just mean a concrete structure. But is also a reference to the body. Keep this in mind whenever the word temple is being used within religions text. Knowing this will open ones eyes to the real meaning of the text.

I think fasting in general is also important. Because it brings us closer to death and therefore closer to God. When we abstain from the fruits of this world, we become closer to god.

Do you really believe there's somebody upstairs that cares about you?! I had no such impression. I crawled on my own blood as a kid to survive. You think somebody gave me a hand? There are some people who think death may have been better. And maybe they're right. To me it more seems like someone helped me not to look bad for their own kind. You think you know pain? I've become the king of hell.

  • @mt9567

I can't imagine the grief experienced by the Jews (as a whole) all this time because of the destruction of the Temple so many years ago. As you suggested, the grief has gone on so long it's become almost meaningless..... HOWEVER, what if the grief is not only about you! Just maybe, It's about God's grief. Perhaps the Jews (and mankind as a whole) had rejected God in such a monumental way that GOD needed 2000 years just to deal with it and fix things!
Well, what could've possibly happened about 2000 years ago that could explain such infinite grief? Could it be, that the one God somehow found a way to send a version of himself in flesh as a man? Could the spirit of an infinite God cause the birth of a child into a finite carnal world? If so, it would be a child who could only say and do the will of the one God? Why?... Because he would've come directly from the spirit of the one God rather than the sinful disobedient flesh of Adam.
Maybe...... just maybe...... God is still grieving over the rejection of his own spirit that was revealed, expressed and manifest into his son of flesh.
Yeshayah 9:6 For unto us a yeled is born, unto us ben is given; and the misrah (dominion) shall be upon his shoulder; and Shmo shall be called Peleh (Wonderful), Yoetz (Counsellor), El Gibbor (Mighty G-d), Avi Ad (Possessor of Eternity), Sar Shalom (Prince of Peace).
7 Of the increase of his misrah and shalom there shall be no ketz (end), upon the Kisse Dovid, and upon his kingdom, to strengthen it, and to support it with mishpat and with tzedakah from henceforth even ad olam (forever). The Kinat Hashem Tzva’os will fulfill this.
