Could you check example 2 How is the t vector = (-4,2,1) if you set the 0z=0 and let z=t ? even if the vector t =( -4 , 2, 1) how did you get 1-4t -3+2t +2t=-2 while the point is (1 , -3 ,0) I find that t= (-4,2,0) I got stuck with this question. Thanks for your work (:
t is not a vector, t is a parameter. Vector r (the direction vector) = (-4,2,1) 1-4t - 3 +2t +2t = -2 comes from substitution into the equation of the first plane. Hope that helps you. Perhaps watch it slowly for a second time. 😊

You can definitely add as well. For example you could multiply a line by a negative number and then add
