Oh I cannot believe I almost missed this video! I think I prefer your version !! Loved the Nine of Stones, for some reason your drawing emanated such a beautiful, sweet energy. Thank you for sharing your skills with us.... 💚
This is so cool, Renee. Thank you again for sharing your project with us. I think Rachel would be flattered and love your take on the symbolism of this art.
Five trees is upside down? Definitely wouldn't have noticed on my own! Two of swords: so cute 💖I think Rachel would be flattered to know she inspired such a creative project. I really really enjoyed this. Makes me wanna do something similar, but then I remember how arduous it was for you toward the end 😂Fab job, Renee!!
Yes the Five of Trees is upside down. ha ha ha. I think once you create your own deck, you kind of want to do more. Even though this took me so long, I have started to think of a new deck project. I think now that I have given myself permission to take a while, like 3 years if necessary, then it will eventually get done. I think your decks are so clever, you could do another!!! Thanks so much Juli.
Beautiful project! I really admire your dedication! I was intrigued when you mentioned that the 5 trees was missprinted...took me a few minutes but I think that it is upside down...However isn't it how we feel when we are in the 5 energy?! (like everything is wrong or that we have to go against the current or something...) I believe Rachel Pollock would be delighted to know that someone was so inspired as to spend so long redrawing her deck. And I feel that taking the time to read all she had to say and think of your interpretations makes it even more special. This is a lot more complex than simply copying some images! Thank you for sharing, Renee! That was really inspiring! xx
Hey Renee, I wanted to respond a bit more to your comment during Wai's interview with Bell about the paper you read on "shame" and "guilt" but was too self conscious about cluttering the chat-box during the interview 😅😅😅So what I was saying was that I have read something similar many years ago (over 20 years ago now) when I was still studying and focusing on cross cultural psychology. It sounded like the paper choose to highlight the adaptive function of "shame", but I have so much to say about the absolute down side of it from personal experience. Obviously here is not the place to do it. Heh. But I wanted to note that, because many years ago I found that there is a level of "romantisation" of Asian cultures in the "West" that I thought could be a bit unhealthy.
Yes you are right. The paper I read was asking participants to categorize shame with other emotions like happiness and sadness and different cultures put it into very different categories. Both Indian and Chinese participates placed shame in the same category as happiness. Fascinating. Obviously shame can have terrible repercussions if it gets out of balance with self worth.
Well Renee, now I've seen the whole deck I can confirm... I prefer your illustrations & take on the cards! Fantastic 🌞🙏
Ah thank you!! That means a lot.
Freaking incredible.... the chakras instead of the spinal column I adore and all you completely different cards. Renee it’s amazing it really is 💜💜💜💜
Thank you Candy!!!
