Best system is the eco flow solar generator, with solar panels and the eco flow dual fuel smart generator. Use a 20 or 40lb propane tank and the smart generator turns on automatically to charge the batteries to full then shuts off to save fuel. When the battery gets low again, it turns on automatically to recharge the batteries. So if it has a 1 gal tank and it can run for 7 hrs straight before being empty . If you just use a gas generator you get 7hrs . But if you use a solar generator. That one gal of gas will recharge your battery 7x and get you a week of energy not just 7 hrs .
You’re gonna need more solar panels for that thing. You made the case by demonstrating your draw was over twice as much as your charge. These power packs have their place, for use until a generator can get running. Unless one has the money to invest in enough panels to efficiently recharge.
yes, just like the old UPS systems you can buy for your computer. They are not a generator, they are just battery backup. Any generation requires either a generator, wind mill, or solar panels.
Yes, you can build all this quite easily but it won't be as portable and possibly not as compact. Price wise and not billing your time out you will still spend a not so dissimilar amount of money. The advantage for the producers of the ecoflow is they have economy of scale as opposed to any custom built unit .
Expand that 1-3 days to a 30 days with a 2000 w generator and a few gas cans to recharge the Ecoflow. Both certainly serve a purpose, but I will probably never have a big gas generator.
Eco Flow sure makes it easy! I have the River pro, and the extended pack for it, along with a couple 110W panels. I will be stopping up to a delta pro before next year. I hope to be off grid within 6 months. Thanks for a great video!
Ecoflow delta pro 3, on sale for $3k. A 21Kw system like that would run you about $1/watt, so yeah just $21k for a battery backup that's quiet. At that point get a whole home multi fuel generator and a big propane tank. If you live in an apt and can't have a generator, you probably don't have $21k for a battery system either.
They say that's the sale price, but it's not really. That's the normal price. As of right now, you can get one WITH a 400W Solar Panel for $2903 from one major solar online retailer. That makes the cost of the DP3 about $2450
thanks for making this video. I was bating around the idea of buying one of these after thinking the entire time "they are gonna rob my house..." and I would turn off my generator when I'd leave home, solely because of the noise. Id take my motorcycle when id leave while the power was out and leave my truck in the driveway to make it look like I was home and I was super paranoid because some mild looting did start where I live during Helene. There are a few brands of these big power banks, and would you say this is the main one everyone likes? I didnt even have an inverter, I ran a big regular ass generator thats mega loud and hooked it up to a 1000w UPS inside my house to hub the power to everything else. It worked pretty good, but I still wished i had an inverter or a bigger battery. That 1000w bank would be BONE dry in 15-20min using only my modem, a couple lights and a router. I had no idea a router takes that much power.
16:09 I belive you'r confusing power (Kw) with storing capacity (kwh). Adding extra batery arrays afect only the later. You dont get more power that the one set by the inverter. Probably 5 to 10 Kw in that unit at the most.

Those Ecoflow units are great, but don't rely on solar panels to recharge them. Have several extra 100AH batteries and a converter to recharge your main unit from the batteries. Some solar panels couldn't hurt though.
Solar panels are fine as long as you're not using the majority on the units power output daily.. You just have to be smart with the consumption. And obviously the more panels the better.
Nice mobile setup! …but you actually want the star link and laptop part to setup faster, even on your quad car. Maybe using the case itself mounted, and detachable from your buggy.

Cant say enough about Starlink, people still have a bad taste in their mouth about Elon because of Tesla, but i live at almost 11k feet in Colorado i see -40/-50 very often in the winter with tons of snow 40 mph winds etc and even in those bad storms my starlink stays connected 90% of the time the heater within the unit melts snow and ice as fast as it can build up its truly an amazing technology.
Helpful, as always. One important question. You need the Internet in order for the app to work, correct? If you don't have Internet, are most of the features that are on the app available directly to use on the actual solar generator? Thanks.Helf
The Jackery I have does remote monitoring and control through Bluetooth. I would assume/expect Ecoflow to do the same. Any phone/tablet/computer with Bluetooth should be able to connect through the app with no WiFi network necessary.
I love my ecoflow and it was great during the recent outage. I live in NW S.C. Nestled up to N.C. It is new to me and i need a longer cord to run the panels further away if possible. Any one have a solution? Thanks.
A wood gasification unit powering a generator screams I'm self sufficient don't mess with me. And it can power just about anything, including your vehicles and charge electric vehicles. I'd love to have a solar generator that would not need replacement every 10years due to capacity failure based on material failures.
If you follow Mike Maloney, precious metals expert for Rich Dad/Poor Dad, When they had a disaster in Puerto Rico. They knew someone using a generator as back up power. When they woke up to check on it, They found the generator was gone replaced with a lawn mower
Please don't buy eco flow if you are planning a full off grid setup. There are other proho installation, friendly options that can literally get you three times the amount of power for the same price. This setup has its uses, but running a shop or a household can be done a lot more efficiently with different brands and types of solar equipment. Here is a comparison: What he showed you connected in the shop cost approx. $18,000.00 The system approx specs are this: 1. 7,200 watts surge power 2. 24kw of battery storage 3. 800 watt solar (PV) input. In comparison, you can go with a user-friendly EG4 system for $17,000. Its specs would be: 1. 12,000 watts surge power 2. 42kw battery storage 3. 9,000 watts solar (PV) input. The eco flow has it's uses, and I'm glad it works for him. However, it is not the best option for powering a home.

I can see where that in tandem with a gas generator to help with the solar can get you through a tough time for a long time.
Best system is the eco flow solar generator, with solar panels and the eco flow dual fuel smart generator.

If the hurricane hit the "war camp", it would become a death camp.
If a flood it, someone might find the tattered remains of the tent one day.
Stay safe and please keep Florida in your prayers.

I have some small buletti units, but I think you converted me to ecoflow for my next purchase they just seem more innovative
Watch THE POST MAN.
The answer to your question on how important communication is.
What I've learned is van life is the safest prep or any type of bug out live in vehicle
"I'm from the government and I'm here to help."
Still don’t have power back at my house in black mountain, nc. On a well, but it’s hardwired into the house with a dual 20 amp circuit, so I gave up and staying in SC ha
How would you prepare your solar panels and your war camp for very high winds.
Im not going to rib you about the off-grid any more.
How do you like that Starlink? Is it reliable? Does it burn much juice? Inclement weather? Trees?
I've got the same EcoFlow. It's a game changer. Everyone should own one.
You talked me into it.
. . . . that's why Ecoflow pays him to do the videos and sends him all of the new units.
Hey Cody, are the velcro patches a limited run or will I be able to get one in the future? Money is tight right now but id really like to support the channel after years of watching. Thanks!
not sure. contact merch@wranglerstar.com Those guys will know...
Thanks.
All of this tech equipment is great, but what happens if it is an EMP attack? Back to the stone age? I'm curious is all, just asking a question.
You have it setup next to a creek/river, it would be useless in a flood. Thanks for the ad though
God bless Elon Musk an SpaceX for making Starlink and now Starlink Direct to Cell innovation!
I saw a video of a starlink adapter that runs it off of Milwaukee M18 batteries. I'll see if I can find the link and add it.
Based.
Nice to have money. When I come across an extra 5,000.00 I may do this.
Gas-Gen,.....
"Look At Me.....!!!!"
No joke.....
SCREAMINGLY LOUD ....
What would your response be to a severe volcanic eruption in Wyoming, in terms of survival?
Remember that time when the camp got threatened, and prepper broke everything riding is motorbike, yeah, that was time.
Nothing more American than flogging Chinese batteries 🎉
and did you have to signup for that app? What i'm asking is, do "they" see exactly what and where kind of power you have too?
I’m finally sold… between guns ammo food, I’m mopping up what your spillin
That's why EcoFlow pays him.
God bless.
I have been looking at ads for these and not one ad says where these units are made. U S made with U S parts or ?
A wood gasification unit powering a generator screams I'm self sufficient don't mess with me. And it can power just about anything, including your vehicles and charge electric vehicles. I'd love to have a solar generator that would not need replacement every 10years due to capacity failure based on material failures.
If you follow Mike Maloney, precious metals expert for Rich Dad/Poor Dad, When they had a disaster in Puerto Rico. They knew someone using a generator as back up power. When they woke up to check on it, They found the generator was gone replaced with a lawn mower
I have an 8.7kw solar pv with SolarEdge whole home system with battery backup 9.7kwh. I'm bugging in!
Please don't buy eco flow if you are planning a full off grid setup. There are other proho installation, friendly options that can literally get you three times the amount of power for the same price. This setup has its uses, but running a shop or a household can be done a lot more efficiently with different brands and types of solar equipment.
Here is a comparison:
What he showed you connected in the shop cost approx. $18,000.00
The system approx specs are this:
1. 7,200 watts surge power
2. 24kw of battery storage
3. 800 watt solar (PV) input.
In comparison, you can go with a user-friendly EG4 system for $17,000. Its specs would be:
1. 12,000 watts surge power
2. 42kw battery storage
3. 9,000 watts solar (PV) input.
The eco flow has it's uses, and I'm glad it works for him. However, it is not the best option for powering a home.
Hey dad can I borrow 10 gs
So the biggest one does 72kw but for how long? Even half of that. Say 3500 watts. For how long?
Sponsored by Ecoflow? If these have not been completely purchased by you then you really should disclose it
Sorry bro. You lost me at apps and a laptop. All those electrics are fantastic when things are going well. Not so much if things aren’t.
