Honestly a top 8 to semi finals level match in round of 32 is crazy. Both players have proved they can play up to that level, unfortunate they both had ti face off so early
Yes, just like Lin Shidong vs Harimoto or Lebrun vs Moregard, while some matches have way lower level like Pitchford vs Gauzy or the penholder from Hong Kong (forgot his name) vs Shinozuka. Sometimes these 1st rounds are kinda unfair but this is how it is, to be the best you have to be able to beat everyone after all
Dima explored Lim's weakness handling short push to his forehand again and again. It shows in the pro level, you can not afford to have a weakness exposed. What makes Ma Long great is rarely anyone can find his weakness and you best hope beating him is you are having a great day and he is having a bad one.
perfect explanation of ma long's superior quality game. Against quadri aruna, he manifested what you said in his extremely tight serves. Quadri really had tough times.
Dima played so well this time!! Harimoto got to learn from Dima! The fighting spirit, the ability to attack fiercely. Harimoto may be the first person who discovered Lim's weakness in half-long returns (not long enough to comfortably smash). And Harimoto tried to take advantage of this recently in Xinxiang, but I think Lim improved a lot to not let that weakness be that lethal.
Amazing match, what a nail-biter. It's interesting Dima plays it safe on the receive and just pushes it back awkwardly with spin and placement variation. Whereas Lim backhand flicks everything.
ive been quite suspicious of Lim's serves, and at several occasions, his ball contact is inside de table, at 8:10 you can clearly see it. yet refs never call them out.
He stands at the side of the table but the ball toss and point of contact are just behind the table. His serves are actually far more legal than most of the top players because he tosses the ball straight up, rather than back onto the bat like most of them.
Surprised to see so many pendulums from Dima most of the recent matches I've seen of his in the last couple years he was literally almost strictly backhand and tomahawk.
@@inyourface123 didn't even put that together. That being said his tactics against right handed players not using it at all is pretty unique in the table tennis world.
nice to see dima still playing toplevel. love his effort and dedication to this sport.
Creo que aunque Dima ha perdido parte de esa "chispa" que lo hacía diferente, tiene todavía mucho para dar. Gran atleta
He would be easy to win Lim if his forehand didn't make unnecessary mistakes.
What an amazing match! Played well from both!

Interestingly, we're talking about Dima who has essentially no fh push. So both players have the same weakness.
@@truberthefighter9256 The difference was Dima recognized it and exploited it, Lim didn't.
Well played Dima !
What a great match! Love both these players!!!!
Match of the tournament so far👏👏👏
I wanted Dima to win so bad lol. Great match and both champions!
lol same.

In the recent intense tournaments, I was wondering why Dima was not playing. Here he is, alive and kicking! Great match.

Красавчик!
They met a bit too early.
Lim almost got FanZ last week.
This was another one point game.
They should have met at least at second round.
Epic match! Congrats to Dimitrij...
Incredible match!
Dima again with super performance play 🤫💪
Extraordinaria partida muy explosiva 😮🏓💥💨
Qué partido más brutal!!!
Terrific battle!
Excellent match. Hard to believe this is R32!
So many new Players on absolut Top-Level
Raw Power from both players. Very enjoyable match.
Дима , супер.
beautiful match
Adam, tell ITTF to change the camera angle behind the table!!!!!Side angle is boring and insufferable. Thanks
Great match. They were really slugging it out.
holy shit lim jonghoon has been so good lately
За что я уважаю Диму- рубится до конца и не мандражирует.

Lim isn’t serving from behind the table. Clearly.
Thats what I thought at his games in Xinxiang already.
exactly, i don't understand why? the rules changed?
Guys it doesn't matter where your body is as long as the ball doesn't cross the table line which it hasn't.
As long as the ball is behind the table line, its legal

горячий был поединок
Respect for both players, they played so well, but in the end there's only 1 winner
При такой съёмке кажется, что большая часть подач Лима происходит над столом, что запрещено. Что скажете?

Playing ping pong won’t lose weight. Look at those player. Fan, Liang, Lim & Lin
😂😂 so true. But kinda don't understand why? Is it because they eat more than they release their energies?
Дима рулит!
I hate the new camera angle so much
I don’t quite remember what I saw for this game, only what I heard.
WHAT A MATCH. Two guys that dont care for pushes. only top spins. Sick

Experience of Dima won the game.
Dima🤙
He is clearly not serving from behind the table, why does the ref allow this?
He stands at the side of the table but the ball toss and point of contact are just behind the table. His serves are actually far more legal than most of the top players because he tosses the ball straight up, rather than back onto the bat like most of them.

Different tactics for lefty

@@inyourface123 but actually if you watch bronze medal from Tokyo he's all backhand and tomahawk and he's playing a lefty in that match.

Lim's grunting is loud and annoying. Did he do that intentionally because Dima also grunted.
Two grown men, grunting to get a plastic ball over the net.
They should go to the gym to get more strength.
