i’m sure you know this, but to anyone else, DO NOT use an electric or acoustic capo on a classical guitar. chances are, it won’t fit anyways, but if it does, it can do damage to the guitar. classical guitars have an entirely flat fretboard while acoustics and electrics have round fretboards. most capos are built for that round shape. please buy a separate classical capo or a capo with both acoustic and classical sides.
Not being able to reach the higher notes is so me, Ckassical guitar was the first guitar I got myself, about 2 months into learning. I used a pick on it, couldn’t reach the high notes and held it facing the ground. I moved to electric guitar
i'm a classical violinist. told my dad, a guitarist, for years that my wrist can't bend far enough, nor my hand stretch wide enough, nor my arm move with the range needed to play acoustic and he always argued. got me an acoustic, encouraged me to learn. 9 years later and i finally brought him his guitar for the first time since i was a toddler. he agreed my hands were too small and my joints didn't have the range for acoustic. said electric would be best. thanks dad.
Lol, the stairway of classical. So true. The whammy bar is physically bending the neck back and forth (careful). Welcome. You have embarked on a lifetime of KICK ASS adventure. You'll soon be shredding in an entirely new dimension.
The last part reminded me so much of my teenage years because nylon guitars are the common guitars where I live, so you would hear those riffs played by me and my friends at that time
My first guitar was a classical guitar. I took it for granted though as my whole reason for wanting a guitar was to play bands like Nirvana, Green Day, blink 182. Which I still appreciate, but as I have grown, I find myself listening to more classical and jazz music than anything else for music inspiration.
My great uncle has a really awesome classical guitar with cat gut strings. They're so soft it almost feels like there's not even strings at all, pretty dope.
8:30 - that's the exactly same thought I've come across in my harmonica learning journey. Although it's an easy instrument, at first you can be very lost about these techniques once you gotta rely on your imagination to figure out what the instructor means by "pull your tongue back and down to achieve bending", for example. I'm still struggling with the vibrato cuz i have no clue about how I'm supposed to "vibrate my throat" 😅😅
Wow this video is great because it reminded me of the classic guitar at my grandparents house, my mom use to play it when I was little. But now I can 't play it, I 've moved to a different country, my grandparent 's house is very far away and last time I played it I accidentally broke one of the strings, maybe it was old, maybe I didn 't play close attention while I was playing, but hopefully I 'll fix it one day or pay for someone to repair it. 🤩💟🎸
