The Immaculate Conception of Little Dizzle is a pretty amazing film from 2009 written and directed by David Russo, and starring Marshall Allman as Dory, Vince Vieluf as OC, Tygh Runyan as Methyl, Natasha Lyonne as Tracy, Tania Raymonde as Ethyl, Matt Smith as boss of Corsica, and Richard Lefebvre as Weird William. It's a film that kind of blew my mind when I first watched it back in probably 2012 or something like that, and I wanted to dive back into it for a Christmas special here on the RUclips. Oh, and also, Wikipedia has just informed me that Ethyl is the sister of Dory's former coworker that suggested he try applying to Spiffy Jiffy to work as a janitor. Interesting detail, and one I missed. Not sure what I would have said about it anyway, but worth pointing out.

Thanks. Don't remember where I learned about this film, but couldn't find it anywhere. At least now I know what it was about.

i would love it if i was in the middle of a tough session with my therapist and just randomly started hearing primal screams from somewhere else in the building. it would feel like strange kinship in a way, definitely would make me feel better.

So the past generation said f you, idc. Then the present generation said to next one, I’m sorry but i choose peace and happiness over caring? This is grim as a collective because the wrongdoings will continue without an attempt to stop it. But good individually if you only care about your own happiness? That’s extremely selfish but that’s why the emphasis on “I’m sorry”. It’s like shrug, I’m sorry but I have to take care of myself. But also it could be really sad knowing you’ll leave a mess for the future generation and all you can say is I’m sorry. Interesting ending? lol idk

Nice to hear someone else talk about this weird as hell movie. Well done. Personally, I think the movie really overreached; I was really digging the early parts, when it was just about a shy, confused guy getting a bizarre blue-collar job with a bunch of interesting people. A funny, grounded look at a crew of night janitors sounds like a solid premise for a movie. But it tried to do too much, with commentary on spirituality, capitalism, medical ethics, substance addiction, mass marketing, sexual politics, etc. Any one of those would make a great subject for a film, but it's hard to do all of them at once, and I think the movie suffered for it. Still, the cast was pretty good (I watched for Tania Raymonde and was pleasantly surprised to see the always-awesome Natasha Lyonne), the script had plenty of funny lines, and the direction was pretty damn cool, if sometimes overindulgent. It's a real shame the director hasn't done anything since. He has a real talent, and a starkly original voice.
