  • There's so many detail issues when you first start building a bike. All the ideas in my head get de-railed because 1) I've been doing Shovelheads so long I forgot everything's backwards on an ironhead, 2) Mix and matching is a necessity for budget builds, 3) I'm working with parts I have and need other parts to finalize or move on to the next step. It's like putting together a puzzle when the box doesn't have all the pieces. But that's also what makes it fun. The hunting of parts, meeting new people, and relying on a network to BUILD something instead of just buy everything from a catalog. Here's some of the problems I'm running into right now, but I'm not too worried about it. It's a chopper and I'll make it all work eventually.

I have a line out with a buddy for a early XLCH horseshoe tank as we speak for this project. I also picked up an old Hex Style (the pill type) that I think would work pretty well on here. Depending on what pans out with parts I should have a better idea in about a week or so. Thanks for watching and the input!

Ironhead frame is so nice and light .. I am still fan of swing arm due to a back issues ... but Iron engine sucks.... someone should make alumin ium heads and barrels.. or just to change to modern evo sporty engine.. You are doing cool shit

    What about a peanut tank?
As far as a frontend ,,,how about a 4 to 6 over ?

This front end is stock length. I have a full set of forks that are disassembled that I'm shaving the lowers on with a set of 4 over tubes that will most likely make their way onto the bike once I figure out which front wheel I'm going to run. I have two HallCraft 19" fronts (one spool and one mini drum) that I need to decide on first. My buddy has a 21" mini drum I can have too, so all of this will play into the stance/front end. Will most likely go 4 over though.
