The interesting thing about the DuckTales remake is that, for many countries, it feels unusual because it introduces new characters and storylines that were never featured in the original international comics. However, I'm from the Netherlands, where those characters and stories actually did appear in the Dutch comic books. For example, characters like Della Duck, Grandma Duck, The Three Caballeros, and Fethry Duck were already familiar to Dutch readers, unknown for readers from other countries.
Absolutely. The prevalence of Disney comics in other parts of the world - especially Donald Duck in Europe and José Carioca in parts of Latin America - is fascinating. I remember watching the original Duck Tales well before the internet, and it wasn't until a lot later that I found out that the show largely took from older Donald Duck comics. It did its own thing sometimes, but pulled a 8lot* from the comics. The newer show also takes from the comics, but also references things unique to the older cartoon or other media like the video games. The whole "Della on the Moon" story arc featured the song from the Moon level of the first NES game. I love the older series and video games, but they did a good job with the newer series. It's hard to pick. I don't know about Darkwing Duck, though. I haven't gotten to see the remake yet.
@@DC-FGC In the Dutch Donald Duck comics and pockets, Della's character was explored in so much more depth, both on Earth and on the Moon. (Compared to Ducktales) But, cool to know that the song was from the NES game. In the Dutch comics they didn’t just show her as Donald's sister or the mother of Huey, Dewey, and Louie-they gave her a full backstory, with adventures and relationships that made her an essential part of the Duck family. I grew up reading these stories, so her journey in space and her life back on Earth are super familiar to me. Yeah it's kind of weird that there's people kind of being mad because they're using his real name even though a lot of Scooby-Doo fans should know that shaggy is not his real name it's norville
